EDITING TO ADD --- 1) Do you even bother reading your reviews? 2) One of your servers ommitted 2 caraffes of sake from our bill, which we promptly pointed out to him. How does one accidentally forget to charge for 36 dollars worth of drinks? I will tell you. It is an old tactic used to get more tip in your pocket. It is unethical and illegal. The server is stealing from the restaurant for not charging for drinks, and is putting the customer in jeopardy of stealing as well. Needless to say, we pointed out the error. We are an older married couple, so it clearly was not an attempt to flirt. It was a lame attempt to make his customers give him a larger tip for not charging for drinks. More cash in his pocket. It is also insulting that he felt we would accept the bill as is and steal from his employer with him. You really want to address this or you will continue to lose money with that behavior on staff. Although the dining room is meh, and the service is unpredictable, the food is fabulous. These are the best rolls and nigiri I have had (so far) here in the PacNW. The toro is always so fresh, and the tempura is light, crunchy, and never greasy. They have an excellent selection of sake. Try a flight. You will love it if you love sake. If you dont think you like sake, you might after you try some of the light fruity ones. The servers should be more knowledgable about their selections though (beyond what one can simply read in the menu). I would like to urge the restaurant to make sure their hostesses are polite, friendly and plan well. The last time we went, the hostess was abrupt and sat us where they would soon have a large party; leaving the server to have to ask if we would move. Shame on that hostess. Shes the one responsible for appropriately seating the guests. She shouldnt have sat us where wed have to move, nor should she have made the server deliver the bad news.

Food quality was excellent, service was fast . maybe a bit too fast? We arrived around 8:15 and waited for a table until 8:30 on a Friday night. As soon as we sat down the server seemed very anxious to get our order in and told us would be pressed for time basically. Started with miso soup which was cold. I sent mine back to be heated up with no questions asked, husband and daughter went ahead and ate theirs cold. Also were given some complimentary edamame which was nice. Server prompted us to put in or appetizer order of Hamachi sashimi and the kids meal right away . by the time she got back we put in her orders for our rolls and were told it was last call for food. On a Friday night it seems like you might want to let people relax and spend their money while theyre there. It was a full house and I dont know if it was just our server who had plans for later that night or what but we were in and out in about half an hour. Its a shame because we like to order a couple rolls , enjoy them and then order a couple more. We like to make kind of an evening out of going to Sushi . but I understand it was 8:30 by the time we got seated, which to some people is late. other than that, the food was great and I would have given it 5 stars ! we will be back, we will just have to come when we have a bit more time.

Normally dont post reviews but this place deserves it. After placing a $62 pickup order they told me soups and salads no longer come with meals even though it says it does right on the menu, they fought me so hard on this even after I told them it should be cheaper if you arent going to honor what it comes with but they wouldnt budge. Upon arriving I found that the prices are more than what it says on the menu and they said of yeah we forgot to update them, I asked if they just opened but they said no 18 months ago and the menu prices changed 2 months ago but they havent gotten around to updating them (are you fu**ing kidding me, take 30 minutes to change some numbers please?). I told them Im not paying for the food unless they throw in some salads which I had to speak to the manager for. He comes back with a bag of two salads and a soup, I was so happy, this is all it takes to make a customer for life!... But upon arriving home they had given us so little soup it already evaporated and the salads were just a handful of premixed lettuce. I felt bad that I was happy in front of them for doing nothing for me so I needed to leave this review to balance it out. Also their sushi rolls are only 5 pieces lol what a joke. Seriously dont go here, still wishing there was a good sushi place in the area.

I thought Id found the best sushi in Kitsap until a friend insisted I try the much better sushi at Jo:a. It did not disappoint. This place has quite simply the best sushi Ive ever had east or west of the Sound. Every roll Ive tried has been fantastic. My go-to appetizer is the softshell crab which is crispy and incredibly flavorful with a great dipping sauce. The edamame is complimentary, which is the only reason I learned that I like edamame since Im more of a meat eater when I order. They have an unusually good local beer selection for a Japanese restaurant and every time Ive been the service has been incredible. The prices are extremely reasonable for quality of food they serve. On par with much lower quality sushi places Ive visited in the area.

Went there today for dinner with wife, 6/7/2015. Restaurant was clean and the people were friendly. Our waiter was ok, looks like he hasnt been a waiter very long. I ordered the chicken teriyaki. The chicken was moist and tasted good. The rice sucked. They did something like trying to toast the right a little but burnt something on it, dont know if it was spices. Overall on the teriyaki, good, not worth the $15. Wife ordered the sushi. She said it was good but the sushi is too thick in the cut to where there isnt a good proportion of fish to rice so the fish seemed to be more mushy texture. It was good overall.

I am from out of town and was taken here for lunch. I had the teriyaki chicken bento box which was delicious along with the Kitsap sushi role. I was so impressed by the food and service that I went back for dinner. The chef, not sure of his name, prepared an amazing macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi which was amazing. He also presented me with dessert at no charge. I felt the cost was very reasonable.

Second time here and it has been a pleasure both times. The staff go out of their way to make the experience great. The kids bento combo is more than our daughter can even image eating and the regular menu items are fairly priced. There is a good sized menu full of options. The sushi And sashimi present well and some of the better quality on the peninsula. We will return often and bring friends.
