VEGETARIANS BEWARE!!! This restaurant uses the same large pot of water to cook their beef, chicken, and pork in before they stir fry it. When I saw them begin to make my dish, the cook took a large ladle of this water and swished it around and then dumped it out. So they clean the wok with "meat water." As the cook made my Tofu dish, he poured two more ladles of this meat water into my vegetarian dish to make the sauce. THAT IS NOT VEGETARIAN, in fact I dont even think that complies with Health Codes as this big pot of water is used all day long. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN! The counter person tried to deny that this was true, however, I saw the cook do it with my own eyes. This is WRONG! If you are a vegetarian or vegan, this is NOT the place for you.

Please consider this a warning!!! we ordered food for takeout and once we got home the honey mustard chicken smelled sour after looking through the chicken I discovered black spots that maybe where it look like it couldve been over cooked once I opened it up it was completely molded they poured extra sauce all over rotten food to cover it up! it could have only been that rotten if it was weeks and weeks old!!! Once I complained the gentleman didnt seem surprised & promised a refund which we later had to argue for. I could not ever trust anything from this establishment again! Just disgusting and pathetic that they would even try to serve that to make $10.95!

The delivery time on the Black Pearl "IS INCREDIBLE"!!! Granted I only ordered the Pork Fried Rice, which was EXCELLENT and the BBQ Pork, which was FANTASTIC "but" their delivery time was THE BEST I ever had in my life!!!! I would highly recommend them to anyone in the North End of Seattle!!! Thank for your friendly service, food and INCREDIBLE DELIVERY TIME, James Capps

I love the food here, have been coming here for years. The past several times, though, for more than a year, it has smelled worse and worse. Like old grease. Last time even our table had that sticky, wax-like kitchen grease coating, and the smell was so bad it ruined the meal. Until they scour the place out Im sticking to take-out.

The cleanest, nicest vegetable dishes in the northend. We often eat on or have them deliver. We love Black Pearl!! And echo the ambience comments above, kinda reminds me of places in Asia. But otherwise no issue for this world traveller.... PS ask the owner for some of their home made chili paste, super hot!

The food is fresh, veggies not previously frozen. Quality ingredients. doesnt taste like it was sprayed with fragrance to serve as flavor. I only gave four stars because the garlic they used was jarred. But they have free delivery, with min purchase of $10. Not that common among Chinese delivery.

too expensive. Tried to order General Tso chicken, pork fried rice, and shrimp and broccoli. tried to charge me $36 because they use chicken breast so its more expensive lol. rip off in ny you get that same order for less than $20. If i could rate it 0 i would.

The food was okay, but not good enough to make up for the incredibly unclean bathrooms that really put off our appetites. Had to go let our waitress know we were done and ask for a to-go box, even though we were the only customers in the restaurant.

This has got to be some of the best Chinese food Ive ever had. Its delicious without being too heavy bit it doesnt leave you hungry later either. They have a perfect blend of authentic Chinese food and modern American in each dish. Love this place!
