I want to start off by saying that I have ordered from Maharaja at least 6-8 times (LOVED IT) in the last 6-8 months and was absolutely disappointed with my order last night. We ordered: Keema Samosa and got Vegetable Samosa The Coconut chicken (mild) was almost literally on fire. You could see the spicy oil sitting on top of the sauce and when my GF took a bite ( she has GI issues with spice) in about 10m her guts was now a 16 hour ticking time bomb. I called Maharaja and she was very nice and told us she would have another delivered in 10-15m..which ended up being 40m. Surprise Surprise the re delivery was supposed to be mild its now a 3.5 star for heat instead of the 5 star heat they gave us the first time. I contacted Grubhub via live chat and they ended up calling Maharaja. In the end Maharaja refused to refund my money back for food that wasnt edible due to the heat. They did refund the Samosa ($5.00) and grubhub rep stated that they (Maharaja) were refusing to redeliver any food to us. Im not the complaining type nor am I the type to write reviews...So you can imagine this experience that actually motivated me to make a Yelp account so that I can warn others of this experience speaks volumes. I mean they serve GOAT and I love it...not to many places do that, but what are you supposed to do with food you cant eat? I love spicy food and grew up on it, but what they served to my GF last night...I couldnt even really enjoy it?? I had to put a sweatband on just to eat??? LOL Im a loyal customer to good places, but I will seek Indian food elsewhere.

They continue to disappoint. Ive been ordering from them for 5 years. I swore off ordering from this place last year after many repeated attempts to get them to make my korma as mild as possible. I KNOW they can do it, they did it for 4 years straight but starting sometime last year they seem to be unable to fulfill my request for a korma that wont burn holes in my stomach. A couple of weeks ago, I ended up with a GREEN "korma" that was incredibly spicy despite numerous requests for a MILD one. Its sad they cant follow directions anymore because they have lost a client who really does love indian food.

A friend and I went for the lunch buffet yesterday and the waiter told my friend (a black woman) that she could not come in. When she asked why he said she had come in a month ago late at night, got drunk and didnt pay her bill. She tried to explain that she doesnt go out late drinking because she has a job and three kids but he would not apologize and then sat us at a table in the back. It was the only non-booth table and was right next to where he sat - he watched us as we ate our meal. It was a horrible experience and I will never be going back.

This is the most unusual Indian place in which I have eaten. The restaurant is very traditional and is exactly what you would expect from a neighborhood Indian place. However the dive bar attached to the restaurant makes for a completely incongruous and juxtaposed feel. Dont get confused, this is a benefit, I love both places separately. The curries are quite delicious and they have a great dinner for two option. Best deal there, substitute a dessert for another order of Garlic Naan, homerun.

Excellent, as always. Im always happy with whatever I order, and the service is always excellent. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences here, and in fact, think this may be my favorite restaurant in West Seattle. Tonight we had the "non-vegtarian dinner for two" that came with an appetizer, 3 entrees, Nan, and desserts, for $48. It was fantastic. And we brought home plenty of leftovers. My favorite dish there is the Lamb Korma, hubby loves the Paneer Tikka Misala.

Food is OK, people are nice enough, but the delivery speed is unacceptable. Tonight they set an expectation of 30-45 minutes, it arrived in two hours. Delivery guy said they were slammed with 60 delivery orders all at once, bit thats no excuse since they should either stop taking delivery orders or set realistic expectations. We have been customers for 8 years but they finally lost our business tonight for good.

The staff is always very attentive to us when we go in. They are on top of refilling our drinks, answering our questions about food items, and serving the dishes in under ten minites too. Every single time we come here to eat we are always in awe of their delicious dishes. We always seem to leave a bit uncomfortable from not being able to stop eating this yummy food.

The most amazing Vindaloo I have ever had. Service is good, friendly and attentive. The place is surprising as it looks like nothing from the outside. Inside its elegant with a great atmosphere. They have gone out of their way to package up some sauces that I liked. Didnt love the lunch buffet, but the dinner menu is nothing short of delicious!

I cant begin to describe how many times Ive eaten or taken out food here. This is my favorite Indian spot in all of Seattle. They have all the classics youd expect from a slightly Americanized Indian joint. The Tikka Masala is one of my favorites. The Aloo Ghobi is also awesome. Also the Samosas! Id try a little of everything.

Been a customer here since 2007. Food is quite good - theyre actually not afraid to use real spices and it tastes authentic. The service though... is abysmal, horrible and execrable, all at the same time. Itll be awhile before I go back for dinner. Best value is the lunch buffet. Least amount of aggravation is delivery.

Seriously - best Indian food in Seattle. Ive traveled India and while its not the same, the Mahraja guys have it down! But for those relying on this recommendation, youd better make the food spicy...the hotter you go, the better the sauces come out. The Chicken Tika Masala and Dahl Lamb are fantastic!

Lamb Vindaloo. Mild, Regular, Spicy and Extra. I ordered the spicy. It was perfect. Very tasty, goes well with some basmati and garlic naan. Only thing that doesnt make sense is that you have to order the rice separate, but not a big deal because prices are so reasonable. Will be back again.

Drink here but do not eat here. Great friendly bat staff, good stiff drinks but the food is wrong. We had dahl and asked for it hot, as in spicy, it came tasteless and very salty. This place does great drinks and bad food. I have eaten at many UK indian places and this is the worst.

Food simply tasted off and was more heavy than usual for indian food. Normally we want the left overs for the next but this - no way. ugh. My tummy really doesnt feel good right now. But I will say the service was really good and the people were very friendly and nice.
