Located within a hip and up n coming part of Ballard, The Skillet has an open, clean, well-lit (in the daytime at least) and modern ambience. There for an early lunch, my friend ordered the standard burger and I the Little Rob breakfast sandwich, with a plate of biscuits and gravy alongside. The giant single biscuit served in a quarter bowl of gravy was decent in the long list of biscuits n gravy Ive tasted in my time. The gravy was not very spicy, which is how I prefer it, but there were large chunks of pork within the batch and the biscuit was definitely the best part of the plate. My other dish was a savory breakfast sandwich served in between two hotcakes that were soft and scrumptious, which says a lot coming from someone who typically doesnt like regular old pancakes. My friends burger looked pretty good, his fries dipped in the chipotle pumpkin ketchup accompanying our counter space. All in all, my food was great, slightly over priced for the portions though. I will be coming back for lunch and/or dinner soon...

A tragically comical card-deck-sized portion of salmon for $23, served in the land-o-plenty when it comes to salmon. Even more hilarious when the dish is set next to the chicken and waffles and pot roast. Surely the line cook must be covering his face in shame every time a server comes to pick one of these up. They piled on the Israeli couscous to compensate but it just makes it look even smaller! Immediately asked for something else, and the surprised server offered to take $4 off or something, but still not worth it. Maybe my fault for ordering fish at a meat and potatoes kind of place, but youd figure @ premium prices like that, they couldnt possibly screw it up, right?! Ended up going with chicken and waffles, which were good, and they serve real maple syrup with them. Added a photo of the salmon to illustrate how pitiful a sight it was, next to the chicken and waffles. Id go again, but feel the owners are gouging on this one, be aware.

I never ever write reviews on Google but I feel like I would be doing this restaurant a disservice by not doing one after all theyve done for me. Ive been going to skillet for a little while now and not only do they have the the best Chicken sandwich Ive EVER tasted but they also have the best chicken/pork belly & Waffles as well. Anyways, a few months back, I had this great idea of building the ultimate chicken and waffle sandwich. basically it is chicken, pork belly, and eggs sandwiched between two waffles. I proposed the idea to my very helpful waitress and they were totally on board with my wild order. Not only that, the chef Nick even provided suggestions such as putting cheese onto it. It was hand delivered by the Chef Nick himself and let me tell you.. it was SPECTACULAR... You have a life long patron in me. Thank you Nick and Skillet! you guys are awesome!

Went to this place on a whim after finding it on OpenTable. Reserved a table and showed up and my girlfriend and I were led immediately to a seat. The atmosphere is laid back and the workers all wore plaid which worked with the new modern styling of the restaurant. Our waitress was courteous and recommended food on the menu after finding we hadnt been there before and even let us know what her favorite thing on the menu was. I got the grilled cheese with the poutine, my girlfriend got the burger with fries and both were delicious! There were several other items on the menu wed like to try so were planning to visit again soon. As far as pricing goes it wasnt bad, it was about what youd expect of a decent restaurant. Appetizer, two meals, and two alcoholic beverages came out to about $60. Well worth it in my opinion!

My wife and I were looking for a quick bite and happened to be in the area. Weve been going to Ballard for years. Honestly, weve gone here before and thought the food was good, although the portions were small for the price. This 2nd time around, we thought wed give it another chance. My wife ordered the southern chicken. The portion size was good this time and immediately she liked the chicken. However, the waffles the chicken sat on didnt really wow her in terms of taste. I ordered the burger with bleu cheese, medium well. At first bite, I noticed the patty was overcooked and slightly bitter. I asked for it to be rectified. The 2nd time around, there was little improvement, not to mention the fries became saltier. Not sure what was going on there, but I didnt blame it on the wait staff.

The Veggie was so AMAZING!!! My significant other ordered the special breakfast of the day (which I cannot remember the name of), which was like thanksgiving flavors and breakfast in your mouth, so much flavor!! It was great. I was really blown away by the food, I was not expecting it to be as good as it was.. it far exceeded my expectations and I can probably say that it was THE best veggie burger I have EVER had (and Ive had a lot of veggie/vegan meals). You will not be disappointed with the food here!

Great Mediterranean food with a twist with plenty of vegetarian options. Very fresh and delicious. Service was absolutely great. We arrived for an early dinner on a Sat. and the place still had plenty of seating. I imagine it is busier on the weekdays considering its location. Most memorable dishes was the hummus platter with three kinds of hummus-beet, herb yogurt, and squash. Other dishes were great, just not as memorable. Minus a star for price, but definitely enjoyed the meal.

The service was excellent even though it was quite busy for a Wednesday at 6:30. Sat at the bar, ordered the Cava - Spanish sparkling wine & the tomato soup (w/o bread or cheese or extras). It was more than satisfactory! The tomato soup had great flavor. It was homemade & you could taste the love. The bartender was attentive, yet, not annoying. Didnt feel rushed & felt like I could relax at the end of my day. The overall ambiance was pleasant. Try the tomato soup!

Their French toast was very disappointing. It is a highlighted menu item and sounds/looks as if it would be amazing and delicious. However, once you begin eating it, you realize that that only the outside of the giant piece of bread is actually French toast. The inside is simply stale bread that isnt soaked in the molasses custard. For 2 meals (a $40 breakfast), it was a very disappointing visit.

The food was pretty good but I felt we didnt get the best service. There were several times where we had to get up and get our own coffee. The first question asked of us when we got there was did we have a reservation. We did not and they stuck us in a corner when there was plenty of tables near everyone else. I just felt like we were stuck in a corner and forgotten about.

We have been here a few times now and the quality has diminished each visit. Our most recent visit had extremely poor service and food quality. Our server seemed to forget about us, our food took an extraordinary amount of time to reach our table, and when it finally arrived.. it was overcooked. It is unfortunate as a few of their unique dishes had been excellent.
