Excellent "fast food" style burger joint. Think "in-n-out" quality and style, but at a slight premium. Just like the famed California burger joint, great state offers just two options, single or double, by themselves or in a combo. Unlike in-n-out where a double double combo is 6 bucks and change, at great state its $12, but totally worth it. High quality meat, cheese, and delicious Yukon gold "crinkle" type fries. Jones soda on tap is an added bonus. Havent tried the shakes yet, but others tell me theyre great. I work next door at Amazon and what I like most is the speed of ordering and delivery. Other places have long lines but great state delivers a consistently good product in rapid fashion (it certainly helps to have just a couple items in the menu). Well worth a trip.

Ultimately I feel that I have to judge a hamburger joint by the burger itself, and this one was simply not good at all. The meat had a chewy texture and just didnt feel right at all, and lacked any real flavor. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and quite nice, the bun was ok, it really was the meat that wasnt very good. The only flavor I got was in a few bites of a strong burnt flavor, yet the burger itself wasnt burnt, so I assume the grill wasnt properly cleaned. The fries were tasty, and I am partial to crinkle cut, so that was nice to see. I also got a small strawberry shake which was pretty good, not the best Ive had, but not the worst either.

Burger was very gummy and fatty, though the toppings were fresh. Fries were surprisingly good, especially as someone who usually doesnt care for thicker, crinkle cut-style fries. Their vanilla shake is absolutely amazing, easily the best thing here. The location is great, and there are some neat things here like the Jones Soda fountain and the cute presentation (with burgers served vertically in little paper bags), but the downside is that the burger isnt great, portions are tiny, and for what youre getting, its just too over-priced. But thats what you can get away with when youre located at the base of Amazon HQ, and an army of hungry developers.

I did not expect my burger to be so tough and chewy. It was like they used 90/10 beef. Gross. I had Jones Cream Soda, which managed to put me in a good mood after the angus assault on my taste buds. In fact, all of the drinks at Great State Burger are Jones, which is pretty cool. The fries were also alright. Not food related, but if after stuffing your face with burgers and fries, you are interested in seeing every blemish and pore on your face, head over the the bathroom, where they have these weird, florescent lights that point directly at you. Yikes!

The lines are long (because its within the Amazon campus), the burgers are pretty bland, and its kind of expensive for not a good sized burger. The fries are crinkle cut, which is always a plus, and they dont really have a lot of extras to put on the burgers. Their staff is very friendly, but the wait for a burger can be 10 or more minutes, so beware. Not enough seating, but since you are on the Amazon campus, you can walk outside and find a bench or go down to Lake Union as well only a few blocks away.

Food is decent, but the prices are kind of too high for the quality in my opinion. There are better options in the area, but if youre looking for a quick burger and fries (and Jones fountain soda, which is a nice change) then its worth stopping in for a bite. Wish I could do 3.5 stars, it food is mediocre, but the place isnt trashy or super boring. Giving it the benefit of the doubt for the Jones fountain soda. Id love to see more places have something other than just Coke or Pepsi.

Food was good, we had the vegetarian combo. Everything appears to be made to order. They dont have table service so we had to stand and wait for meal. It was very crowded during a peak weekday lunch hour. Wait time was reasonable, especially considering the crowds. Downside is the acoustic levels were very high and could hardly have a conversation across the table. The constant repetitive "order 123 is ready" got annoying. Table service would bring some relief.

This is a review for the new shop on Sand Point Way - parking was difficult. No real place to sit down - a counter that was occupied by people waiting for their orders. There was nothing about the $7 burger and $2 fries that distinguishes it from a Double at Dicks (which is pretty tough to beat). Nothing special. And, shocker - NO BACON was available. Ill move this review when the Google Maps goes up for the Sandpoint store.

Food is great -- burger was a solid patty with fresh veg and a springy bun. Fries were fresh crinkly-cut, very well seasoned. They came in a cute paper origami box. (Cultural comment tho, the sparse, boring, ultra-hygenic atmosphere isnt winning any culture points.... "SLU gentrification" at play. I personally dont really care, but this particular restaurant is so extremely curated, it stood out to me.)

Expensive for what you get. $13.50 for two thin greasy drippy patties, overdone crinkle cut fries, and a kids size cup. Taste was around Dicks level. Not bad, but I could have got the same meal at Dicks for $6 For this much money, I expect to get a killer burger meal deal like at Teddys Bigger Burgers on Greenlake. Ill save my naughty caloric intake for Teddys or Rain City Burgers.

Youre here because its fast and you want a decent burger. Everywhere else around here takes too much time and youre tired of the protein bar in the vending machine. You deserve this treat . . . So what if it shows up on the budget later on and you feel terrible about yourself then. Get the chocolate milkshake. Its worth it. Youre already making a decision to have a burger.

We both know why were here. We want a greasy hamburger and tasty fries. You can cover your guilt with the knowledge that everything is organic, yadda yadda. But the shame and regret will be yours just the same as if you went to McDonalds. That being said the food tastes better here and the crinkle cut fries are a definite win.

Horrible! Worst burger Ive ever had. Nice set-up, and building; but horrible food. I ordered the Veggie burger and I wasnt expecting it to be fried, which was gross btw. Fortunately for me Im an out-of-towner, so I dont have to worry about returning. All the reviews before, clearly dont know what a good burger is.

Tasty burgers, fries and a fancy Jones soda fountain. Ive never really been a fan of crinkle cut fries, but these guys just do it right. Restaurant is usually pretty packed, but a nice atmosphere. I feel like the price is a little high for what you get, but that isnt really enough to stop me from coming back.

Veggie burger sucks! Wad of whatever didnt come from the cow, deep fried to a tasteless "perfection" with condiments to include processed "American" Cheese. Who wants a crispy deep fried burger? Subway or burger king way far better and healthier (not to mention way cheaper).

No really impressed with the burgers. Actually seemed too lean. Then after being cooked to a well done consistency the burgers ended up tough/chewy. The fries were good. Shakes good. Decent, but bottom line: this is not the place to good to satisfy that burger craving.
