I had been wishing for a long time for a pho restaurant to open in Lake Stevens. I was excited to see Lucky Dragon Noodles open a while back. Ive tried to like this place, in part because the next nearest pho is miles away. This review is not based on one visit, but nearly ten. However, no matter how many times I try it, Lucky Dragons pho never gets any better. The phos broth is never consistent - always changing in quality, flavor and thickness - but is always mediocre. At its best, it has a too-mild and not-quite-Vietnamese flavor. But a couple of times Ive been there, the pho has been swimming in something close to water (thats even less appetizing than it sounds) - Ive had to load up on sriracha and hoisin for the soup to have any flavor at all. Speaking of condiments, while they have these two standby sauces, they dont have any other options. Im partial to the chili-flakes-in-oil sauce (not sure of the name), and its sorely lacking here. Worst of all is the value. Pho should come at street-food prices, and typical prices in the area are $4-6, depending on location and size of bowl. Lucky Dragons pho only comes in one size, about the size of most pho restaurant’s "medium". However, it comes with a tiny amount of noodle and meat, about the size of other restaurant’s "small" or "kids" bowls. And what do they charge for a medium bowl containing a small-size-worth of noodle and meat, filled with mediocre (if not downright watery) broth? Its about $8, more expensive than any other pho Ive seen. I stopped going here after a particularly disgusting and watery noodle soup, choosing instead to go over the trestle to one of many real Vietnamese pho places. However, they closed for a while for remodeling, and I recently tried them again to see if they had fixed their problems. Unfortunately, they have not. They still fail to capture any of the essence of a real pho place. This critique doesnt apply to Lucky Dragons Chinese restaurant, by the same owners, which is nearby and which serves quite good (if a bit Americanized) Chinese food. Ive been wishing for a long time for a pho restaurant to open in Lake Stevens. Unfortunately, Im still waiting.

Im a long-lived total food freak (love eating good food, including 25 years in San Francisco and East Bay, CA. Ahh, those were the days, but I love this climate and precipitation level more). Anywho, the extremely disappointed reviewers experiences with the Dragon puzzle me, but then, theres no accounting for taste, huh? Same as it ever was. It happens Im headed over to the Dragon, now to fetch din-din. If you like good food--of any type--I cannot imagine youll be disappointed with the experience of the Dragons victuals (Im talking the Vietnamese version of the Lake Stephens Dragon, mind you!). Oh, and this is a neighborhood/family restaurant. Id rate it Very Good in that category. Enjoy!

Im not a big fan of the soups here, so I can see why pho lovers arent that thrilled with it. However, their vermicelli dishes are DELICIOUS and their prawns and pork are consistently well-cooked. The fried rice is also really good and is one of the few things my kid will request eating that had vegetables in it.

This place doesnt have enough reviews. Certainly not the type it deserves. The pho is really nice, but the broth could use a bit more flavor. I guess its great as a base to add things to it, but any shortcomings on the food are far outweighed by the amazing service and environment. Thank you guys!

Recently moved to the area and needed a pho fix. In my opinion the pho was bland and the noodles not a consistency that I enjoyed. The fried squid I had as an appetizer was bland as well. If you want pho, try somewhere else. I havent been back to try the other dishes but if Im desperate I might.

Pho Lucky Dragon, is an outstanding addition to the Lucky Dragon Chinese Rest, across from Target. They have added vegies to the Pho Ga (Chicken soup) and have kept their prices competitive. Service is friendly and prompt. All and all a best buy......!

I ordered the "house special" and it said there was snow peas in it. There were two snow peas in the entire dish. In general the veggies and meats seemed sparse compared to other pho places Ive been to.

Im not exaggerating when I say this place has the best wings Ive ever eaten. EVER. The wait staff are always smiling and polite. One of our go to places when we dont want to cook.

I tend to agree with the previous reviewer on the Pho, it distinctly lacks the depth of flavor that I traditionally expect from this dish. No complaints about the service.

Really REALLY good food. Pho is best in the area and their beef with ribs, spring rolls and fried squid is a MUST. Who knew you could get food like that in Lake Stevens!?

Looks like I will have to keep driving across the trestle to get good Pho. Decided to try it based on the large gap in between the good and bad reviews.

I come here for the garlic chicken wings, which are the bomb. And all the other food is great too. Best Pho I have ever had, and great service too.

Generic Pho restaurant. Lucky Dragon does not stand out as particularly good. Just riding a trend, I guess.
