So we had an interesting experience here. We werent sure about the amount of food to order and looked to our waiter for guidance. He instantly told us we had ordered too little and then made some racial generalisation about how one of "your people"(referring to indians) had come in and ordered the garlic chop suey and returned with his whole family for more. Finding his socially awkward camraderie beguiling we took his advice and ordered some more. It didnt take us long after the arrival of the first dish to realise we had over ordered and been thoroughly conned into spending an extra 20$, which in the grand scheme of things is hardly worth the fit I am throwing about it online but its the principle of the thing. If this waiter is any indication of the general staff then it makes me question what meat is being sold as beef and duck when the meat smells a little over ripe.

Granted, its Christmas and a bit busy, but even so, the service was 40 minutes slow. Soup came fairly quickly, but only two bowls were offered for a family of 5. Getting a glass of water was also difficult to do. Appetizers came after main dishes. The egg rolls were actually cold, as if they were partly microwaved. Two of the 6 dishes were hot, two luke warm and two cold. Only the sechuan soup and mushu pork were good in flavor and texture. Thankfully, they forgot to bring us our rice and orange chicken. The rest were meh at best. The staff kept walking by looking at us, but doing nothing. I did have to tell the staff to take the charges off for the missing items. Barely n apology mumbled for the delay. Over $100 later, Im considering a Big Mac Ill reserve this place for taking unwanted guests and my kids when Im mad at them. Good luck of you try it.

I must say, I actually have enjoyed my past visits. We came in for my sons birthday. The server seated us. I figured all was going well, until we started ordering. I felt like he didnt want us to be there. The food, which is normally delicious was sub par. The prawns were flattened and overcooked. The orange chicken was overcooked as was the sauce. My son was spooning the sauce, it was totally like playing with molasses. When I asked for tea, he sighed. When he brought the tea, he also brought three cups. I said, "no, just one. Thank you.". He picked up the cups and slammed them on the counter behind him. I am so disappointed. Again, weve gone here before. It was always excellent. This is the first time, in my life as a paying customer, that I have not left a tip.

To be honest this place would probably be 2.5 if it wasnt for the awful server we had. No name tag or badge and he never introduced himself. Also on the receipt it said Tina...(whom I suspect was the other employee working, who seemed to be very polite and friendly) We had a little trouble understanding him, and I think that upset him. English is very clearly not his 1st language and we simply just needed to ask him a couple of times to clarify or repeat him self. As stated in another review they do charge $1.50 extra for white rice, which is goofy at the least. This is my 1st time eating here and and will be my last just due to the awful experience from the server.

Probably one of my worst restaurant experiences. I have never reviewed a restaurant til now, because I want to warn everyone not to go. Had to pay extra for steamed white rice, and there were ants in it!! Isnt that a health violation? I was disgusted. not to mention, it was super hot and stuffy and waiter refused to turn on the AC because the boss said it would cost extra, so he opened the door instead so there were tons of flies. Otherwise, the rest of the food was decent but they totally overkilled on the broccoli to keep costs down. couldnt eat anymore after that bug experience though. at first glance it looks appealing, but I would say to stay far far away.

Because of the wonderful reviews I thought I would try this place last night. The service was great, food hot when I picked it up and smelled great. However, I ordered the Dinner B family pack for 2 and the beef tasted like flavored flour. The chicken was a bit better but the coating on both meats were so overwhelming it took away the flavor of the meat itself. Not a place or at least an order I can recommend or will get again. Since I picked-up the order to enjoy at home, I ended up throwing it away. I couldnt eat it - that was $30 wasted.

Great service and good food. They can be a little busy sometimes which slows them down significantly. A couple items are a total miss, but everything else makes up for it. My favorite place to turn to for Chinese food in Santa Cruz. The only caution Id give is to be a bit careful during busy times. Ive seen them at their worst when theyre inundated with orders and people in the restaurant. The oppressive rush often causes the cook to miss some items and can make for a noticeable drop in the quality of the food.

Admittedly went here on Christmas as it looked like one of the only places open. We were welcomed enthusiastically and the person taking our order led us to believe that we ordered too less and we should probably order more. Food that came out was waaay too much for 4 people. He happily watched as we struggled to finish any of the food out in front of us. Food was not that great either. Super oily stuff.

100% Would Recommend! The Mongolian beef lives up to its reputation. Chow fun is delish. Service was great, food was delicious, large portion sizes, and a very welcoming atmosphere. This is a great place to take the kids, or for a family gathering (there is enough space for that). The food here is spectacular, and it was delivered fast too! I love this place, too bad there isnt one back where I live!

General tso chicken wasnt even spicy, only sweet. the fried prawns were bread battered instead of tempura and super dry with no flavor. the cream cheese won tons were ok, but some were over powered with fake crab meat. And I was only satisfied with the pork fried rice. honestly, Im dissatisfied and I dont feel it was worth 40 bucks at all.

The food was amazing. Veggies fresh sauces perfect. A great atmophere sitting by the fire on a chilly rainy night. The staff is pleasant and thoughtful. Clean inside and out. Prices excellent and the portion sizes are wonderful. I have enough food for three meals. I will eat here again! No MSG either.

This place was excellent. Its hard for me to find a good Chinese food place that I like but I loved this one. The broccoli and beef was terrific and had the best sauce and quality beef. I also had the Lemon Chicken and Crab Ragoon which were the best. I would eat there anytime back in Santa Cruz!!!!!!!

I did not like this place at all. As soon as I walked in I seen one of the workers picking his nose ...didnt wash his hands and then after words touched the utensils. Before I even orderd my food I asked them to wash there hands. Very disappointed and disgusted. I do not recommend this place.
