Well, a couple Sundays ago a restaurant called the poodle dog in fife, wa, included a 20% gratuity PLUS 1 penny. We checked the math several times.... The waitress informed us of her Bowel movement behaviors, forgot peoples food in the kitchen, didnt refill waters, and coffees, and had a poopy attitude when we asked her for stuff, like service. When asked why our party of 8 was charged a 20% + one penny gratuity they replied with: Parties of more than 8 people are auto charged a 18.5% gratuity. When i explained to them I have restaurant experience, and why would they over charge us? she began spouting off something about the federal government made her do it. not a single apology for the lack of service, nor the (illegal?) way in which they forced a gratuity higher than their posted policy.

Needed a break from traffic on my way out of town for a trip. Stopped for breakfast at the Poodle Dog and it was PHENOMENAL. I was seated quickly and served with a smile promptly. My server took my order quickly and my meal arrived promptly, piping hot. The hotcakes were light and fluffy, but crisp on the outside even with the syrup added. The perfect pancakes. The portion size was generous. In fact, my server even noticed I was low on syrup and had additional on the table before I needed it. I stop in Fife on almost any trip Southbound that takes me through the area even just to top up fuel and grab a tasty burger and chili fries at the Pick-Quick Drive in. I am so glad I finally stopped at the Poodle Dog. I will definitely add The Poodle Dog to my great places to stop on a trip.

Took my daughter out tonight for dinner and we ended up at the Poodle dog. Last time I had been was about 8 years ago and the place smelled old and dusty. Tonight it seemed to have been remodeled since my last visit, nice clean tables, cute RED deco pendants over the tables looked retro. Very comfortable, I would even go there for private conversations. The food was great, came out fast and our waitress was very nice, fast & professional. (Thank you Nathalie) I loved the beer on tap. Just got off work and it was nice to sit back and relax for awhile! Will definitely be back & definitely refer friends and family to go check it out. Its hard to find a good place to eat out in the Fife/Milton/Edgewood area! :-)

We had the Turkey Sandwich, which was just like what my GrandMother used to make, with all the trimmings. We had the strawberry shortcake with ice cream and whipped cream, which was enough for three people...It was great food and fun to hang around.. The food was great and the waitress was really cool. The people who came to the restaurant were all different and from many walks of life. It was really nice to just relax and enjoy the great meal and Energies. There was a bar in the back, which I could do without...kind of old and depressing, but the rest of the place was interesting and we liked the old fashioned comfort food and took our time.

Im sure its a nice place to eat...called and talked to management seeking help unfortunately our home burnt down our lives ruined starved and asking that maybe we could get a couple burgers have proof from the red cross that we arent street people looking for a hand out and we were told no they couldnt help I dont think I can understand the rejection from all agencys and restaurants that Ive called for help we didnt expect this to happen to us and werent prepared for this or community has failed us

Ive been coming to the Poodle Dog every time im in the Sea-Tac area for the last 9 years, and was quite happy with the Service and Food... This past week its been Horrible... Service has been poor, waited 30mins for Dinner lastnite... Food was overcooked, and cold. And was just too tired to walk back to complain about it from the motel... I dont know... Maybe i shouldve went to Johnny of fife after the mix-up from Saturday order....

The staff there was wonderful you felt like you stepped into another time. The food was very good and generous and portions they were easy going about fixing or changing something you wanted on your order love going there and highly recommended and they have a great place to get shopping done right in the same area across from the restaurant just eat and walk over and have fun what a great place great staff and reasonable prices

Stuck in Tacoma (though not necessarily a bad place to be stuck) and had to feed the kids. Place is in a strip mall, which usually means its going to be awful, or surprisingly good. This was the latter. Its a place that has hints of what appears to be late 60s/70s decor but doesnt feel dated and drab either. Rather decent diner food. Portions were generous, not too expensive, and the service was quite friendly.

Great, classic diner. The gem of the South Sound Restaurant Group. Great service, a huge menu for all meals and "The Pup Room" bar in the back. They have an excellent Monte Cristo here and the skillet breakfasts are big and satisfying. They have a nice list of salads, and kids and seniors menus as well. Plenty of parking and a lively crowd. I just wish they were open later.

This place is pretty classic on the old diner look and feel. It is right off the highway exit, has generous portions and the wait staff keeps the old cup of joe flowing. I felt like I had been taken via time machine to Mels Diner on the Alice TV set. There are not many good family style diners left and this seems like a good, honest tribute to a great bit of Americana.

Quintessential American diner. And huge portions.... wife and I ate off the senior menu; our kids meals also huge. Would definitely come back. Had always wanted to stop, but either going somewhere or coming back from the airport didnt allow for it. Also seems like a good place for coffee and pie.

We came in after an event at the Tacoma Dome, and found the place busy, well staffed, and a really pleasant place to be. We enjoyed our dinner, and the prompt service, so much that we went back for breakfast before leaving town the next day. Wish this place was in OUR town! :-)

The only reason this place is getting ONE star is because my Drink was strong... The waitresses rarely checked on you. YOU have to track them down for any thing you need... The Food was GARBAGE!!! Turn around quickly dont let the GOOD FOOD sign out front fool you!! Garbage!!!

Old school. Friendly, clean, landmark in Fife. Real homestyle food preparation. Step back in time, and enjoy! If in seaon, try the fish tacos; we did and glad. Venture to give the Poodle a try. Or not. Dennys is just a block away. Either way, breakfast is served all hours.

Historic. Been here since before I-5 was built! I have always been happy with the food quality, service and price. My favorite thing to order is the Skagit Valley Omelet. Dont expect fine dining. Thats not what they are about. Old school diner type food.... you got it.

The food was decent, we had a Reuben and a Monte Crisco as well as a sampler platter. The meat used in the Monte Crisco was carved off the ham and turkey as opposed to store bought lunch meat. The corned beef and sour kraut in the Reuben were bland and a bit soggy.
