Got there on a Sunday morning @ 7 a.m., ate a country fried steak and eggs with toast, to go. I told the young man, that I wanted the eggs sunny side up, he told the lady cook, "over easy". That really didnt bother me though, because when I ate the eggs, they were COOKED JUST RIGHT! And by that, I mean that the whites of the eggs were cooked all the way through, and the the yolks of the eggs were completely runny, WHICH IS WHAT THEY SHOULD BE! I cant tell you how many people have no idea how to cook an EGG, especially when all they do all day long is cook them! Also have to say that the toast was kind of soggy when getting out to my vehicle to eat the breakfast, but because the food was so steamin hot, that might have been a major contributing factor. Also, the lady cook asked if I wanted the gravy over the steak, uhm yes. She explained that someone had a fit ordering the steak that way before and said it should have been on the side. MY ASS! Gravy ALWAYS goes on the steak. Im an EXPERT in eating Country Fried Steak, from coast to coast! Also ordered a side of sausage gravy and biscuits. The biscuits could have been more desirable, but the gravy made up for it. Also, while waiting for my breakfast to be cooked, the guy chef was preparing fixins for lunch later on, and had a whole brisket he was cutting up, I said, "Damn - that looks good", and he offered me a piece. It was DELICIOUS. I ate my breakfast in peace, and promptly came back in and ordered a rack of ribs to go. You know - for dinner. I have to say, I was kind of disappointed in the price of the ribs, especially since they were beef, and not pork. I should have asked instead before buying them, but all in all, the ribs were pretty damned good, and just where are you really going to get ribs that are smoked nicely @ 7 a.m. in the morning in this country? NO WHERE. Thats right, NO WHERE. Not St. Louis, not Texas, not South Carolina, not Atlanta, NO WHERE. No where that is, but this restaurant! All in all, if I ever get the chance to pass this way again, Im gonna stop!

First off I wanna say that the friendly service from the two guys behind the counter was a nice surprise. More restaurants need friendly service like this. Some of the best BBQ Ive had in a long time! I got the half rack o ribs with the spicy sauce and all I can say is I could get pretty big if I hung around here long enough lol. You can tell these guys smoke everything super low n slow without trying any of the shortcuts that you might see at some of the bigger BBQ joints. The greens were also very good. If I had to nitpick on something it would be the "corn muffins" I am a big fan of southern cornbread, corn muffins, ect. Im not a fan of the northern style cornbread that is made with a lot of white flour and is almost cake like. That is what these were. In fact, they werent even yellow in color. I dont think they contained any cornmeal at all. Dont get me wrong they were still good, just not corn muffins. If you are traveling through the area definitely dont pass this place up. Very good food and lots of truck parking.

The best BBQ Ive ever eaten was in a roofless wooden shack just outside of Dallas, serving ribs and pulled pork, brisket and chorizos, fried okra and cornbread, and more. Its a long way from Virginia to Dallas.Fortunately, the second best BBQ Ive eaten is about a six minute drive away, at a truck stop down the Seminole trail. If you like BBQ, and you get a chance to stop by, you definitely should. Its not fine dining, but its definitely good eating.I have half my meal left, and if I wasnt full, it might not last too long. Other reviews Ive read have pointed out the location, decor, and atmosphere of the truck stop, and if you drive past, it might not be a place youd consider stopping at. If you like ribs or pulled pork though, that would be a mistake.

Went driving out into the DC suburbs looking for passable roadside barbecue and stumbled on this place. Have to admit, I hesitated before going inside; located in a run-down truck stop on U.S. 29, its not the most alluring restaurant ever. If you want decor, go elsewhere. If you want great barbecue, stay. The ribs are the best Ive had in the DC region, moist with terrific bark and spicy sauce on the side. I look forward to trying the chicken next time; its won national awards.

I dont know what the other reviewer is talking about. I was finally brave enough to stop at the truck stop and found my BBQ sandwich outstanding. They smoke the pork themselves and chop it off the bone infront of you, sandwich by sandwich. Your choice of sauces on top ... which is way better than the places that let the meat stew in the tomato paste of their choosing. For the money, this place is hard to beat. Their ribs looked very good, too.

The charm...Five stars...an easy to pass by truck stop restaurant where youll find kids in soccer clothes, men in dress shirts and ties, guys in camo clothing, and folks like me...non local person traveling from the airport to Charlottesville looking for a good meal. The food...Four stars. Good pork...good beef...nice sized portions. Definitely worth the stop! But BBQ Country folks, its really time for some detailed cleaning.

Love this place ! Been going to to this BBQ since 1989. The father had a place in Centreville Va back then. The son first opened up in Warrenton Village Center, than moved to the truck stop. 95 % of the time everything is real good. Like most restaurants they can be a little off some days. Do wish they would go back to cowl sauce they use to have . Try their hot BBQ sauce !

Not only was the food awesome but Cody Williams stayed late after we called ahead. We have just moved to the area. We were starved and craving exactly this. He made it happen for us, not only did he not make us feel bad about keeping him late, he greeted us with open arms. Then, again...after all that, the food was beyond great. We will be back often.

Nice, friendly guys totally guided us through our ordering process. Delicious BBQ! This is the first time I have ever written a Google review, but I felt I really needed to say something about this yummy food! Also, dont judge a book by its cover.... A little old, but clean and does the trick. We will be back!

Im from Texas so Im naturally biased about BBQ. That being said, when I was asked if I wanted my pork and chicken "pulled", I thought it was a joke! Food is very good (again, not Texas BBQ) staff is friendly, all in all a bit pricy (cornbread is outstanding) but I do go back at least 3 times a year.
