From the moldy smell and grungy look when you walk in the door to the dirty dishes/silverware/ kitchen and bathrooms- this place is absolutely discusting... and i havent even even started on the food yet. The buffet offers very limited selections and most of them look like they have been sitting out for a while and are overcooked, undercooked, inedible, or like youre asking for food poisoning or at least some bad GI upset. Its pretty bad when your kid is asking you, "Is that rice?". That should have been enough of an indication to for us to turn around, walk out the door and leave- but unfortunately for us, we were hungry and against better judgement, we stayed. For the love of god, why did we stay... the rice looked like sticky mush, the green beans tasted winey, the fish was very dry like fish jerky, the "Brunswick stew" tasted like mediocre cambels soup, the sweet potato casserole was like condensed slop and the BBQ had a grey tint to it that was very questionable and was a disgrace to NC BBQ. The final hands down, time to go moment was with the macaroni and cheese. There were not one but MULTIPLE hairs in it. Im still trying to clear the hairball feeling out of my throat as im typing this. Also, before leaving we visited the bathrooms- the faucets looked like they hadnt been cleaned in a long while. So much so, that my daughter opted to skip washing her hands for fear of having to touch them and she decided to get hand sanitizer instead. The sanitation score of this place is a 91. Honestly, I have no clue how they have made it that far. The place needs to be shut down. Hope this review helps save some lives. If you choose not to adhere to the warning signs, may the odds be ever in your favor. Good luck ✌

For the love of all that is good do not go here. It is Monday and Caseys BBQ is closed, but I really wanted some good pulled pork and I remembered passing this place on the road all the time. Should have looked at some reviews first. Despite all of the cars in the parking lot this is going as one of the worst restaurant experiences Ive ever had. The only open booth had rice on the seats which I soon gathered is supposed to be the waitstaffs job to take care of (even though the tables had been hastily wiped up and silverware scattered on the table) and the food is some of the worst. The food isnt labeled, and its not tasty. The fried chicken was lukewarm and rubbery with way too much salt and their main ingredient in the pulled pork was water. There was no flavor to the pulled pork! Just water! I understand that there was vinegar on the side but the pork was inedible. The cornbread/hushpuppies seemed to be the only thing to eat here. Their mash potatoes were obviously boxed flakes, the mac and cheese horrendous. Im just gonna say if you got a craving for bbq, go to cookout if caseys isnt open. Yes, cook out the fast food joint. It aint sit down but sadly its ten times better and half the price. Also this place had posted all over the it extra hidden charges like "If you cant finish a plate well charge ya for it" which I would like to see them try from a legal standpoint. I only managed to eat three quarters of my first plate. Its pretty bad when Im not getting up for seconds at a buffet. Id rather take the hit on the money. I know I am still feeling queasy over the three quarters I managed to push down.

We go there about once a month. Price has been reduced to only $6 per person for adults (thats NOT a misprint!). We had our doubts but just had to try the place. It is definitely NOT "health" food but it is great NC BBQ!. Since you serve yourself there isnt much for the servers to do but they do it very well... always asking if we want more drinks and always taking away the dirty plates quickly. The food always seems fresh and tasty. It includes two kinds of BBQ, fried chicken and fish, sausage, ham and all the southern sides youd expect like mac and cheese, collards, etc. And if you do want to eat healthy, they have a decent salad bar thats included...hell, even the hand scooped ice cream and several other deserts are included for the $6!!! The only extra charge is for drinks... and no gimmicks there - less than $2 for all you want soda, coffee or tea. The only food we dont like there is the sliced ham....way too salty for us. Seen the other comments but we just dont agree....the manager and the wait staff are always friendly and the only thing that puzzles us is why there isnt a line outside the door! Hey, for $6 what have you got to lose? Even the rest rooms are clean and well equipped. And in case youre wondering....NO, were not related to, or friends of, the owners. We just moved here six months ago, just in time to catch the apparent price reduction from $10 to $6.

I have been to this place many times and while I enjoy the food, I went on a Tuesday night which is Military discount night and asked for the discount. I am a US Navy Veteran. When I got to the checkout I was told that only Active Duty get the discount. Well needless to say I was slightly offended when a gentleman, whom I assume is the owner based on his attitude and comments, started to make excuses as to why I couldnt get the discount. I was told "I have to draw the line somewhere." He even went as far as to tell me he was a veteran himself. This place has large flags for each branch of the military hanging in the back of the establishment. The best part was when he told me "Active duty" police, fire and EMS personnel get the discount. What constitutes "Active duty" for them, being on duty? I think this man really needs to rethink his policy on military discounts. There are next to little "Active Duty" military personnel that live in the area. The large majority in this area are the few at the Coast Guard Station, A handful at the Reserve Center and recruiters in the area. Not a whole lot when you think about it. I encourage any veteran to boycott this place until he learns what a "Veteran" really is.

All the favorites. Collard greens, turnip greens, fried chicken, BBQ chicken, pulled pork... you know the drill. Some items are always on the menu; others change daily. Old-school dishes like rutabagas and neckbones show up from time to time, much to this local boys appreciation. Their in-house desserts like bread pudding and pineapple cake can be outstanding. A comment or two on "Chriss" review (from two years ago): you dont pay before you eat; they left that system behind long ago. Ive been a regular there since they opened. Even when they did have the pay-first setup, I never saw them refuse anyone a chance to look at the buffet before they paid. Ive even seen them invite people to look first. And if you drive by this place during normal lunch or dinner hours, you will see that it is indeed busy. I have never had service here that was anything but friendly, and Ive never seen discourtesy from the staff shown to anyone during my many visits there. Its one of my favorite local spots.
