Its a 5 star compared to other Hampton Roads pizza places but a 4 star compared to real Chicago pizza like Lou Malnatis Pizzeria the home of the best pizza in Chicago. For takeout I ordered a medium size Chicago style deep dish pizza with sausage for $21.60 including tax. At home I added some Italian spices to flavor it up. The sausage was good but sparse with 2-3 pieces on each slice placed on the top with the sauce verses in the middle on top of the cheese where it should be if its to be true to the Chicago style of deep dish pizza. For reference I included the following from Wikipedia on what a Chicago style pizza should be: The thick layer of toppings used in deep-dish pizza requires a longer baking time, which could burn cheese or other toppings if they were used as the top layer of the pizza. Because of this, the toppings are assembled "upside-down" from their usual order on a pizza. The crust is covered with cheese (generally sliced mozzarella), followed by various meat options such as pepperoni or sausage, the latter of which is sometimes in a solid patty-like layer. Other toppings such as onions, mushrooms and bell peppers are then also used. An uncooked sauce, typically made from crushed canned tomatoes, is added as the finishing layer; though sometimes, a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese is added for extra flavor.[5] It is typical that when ordered for carry-out or delivery, the pizza is uncut, as this prevents the oils from soaking into the crust, causing the pie to become soggy.

Extremely dissatisfied. Ordered 3 pizzas from here for $53 hoping for it to be a nice treat to my class at the end of the day, given that not many places can deliver to our military schoolhouse. Instead I got ripped off and delivered low quality pizza that tasted like a shingle with cheese on it. The "toppings" are placed under the cheese so they can give you less than what you pay for. And the sizes of the pizzas are the size of a personal pizza. They may advertise 12" and 16" but they will not even near fill the box and serve you over 3" less than what you order and, better yet, it is burnt to a crisp. One pizza delivered was the totally wrong pizza and after speaking with the manager, he maintained the stance that he was correct and that I had changed the type of pizza to something else. The manager did not care about the review in the slightest and claimed that prices are so high because of the quality of the toppings, which were scarce anyway and not even as high quality as he bragged, coming from myself, a previous cook a pizzeria. In conclusion, we have removed all menus for this location from our schoolhouse. Any business that does not care about the satisfaction of their customers doesnt deserve the chance to rip off anyone else. Save your money and order Papa Johns. Its guaranteed youll be more satisfied than what this dishonest business will do for you.

First off, I want to start by saying my family is from the Chicago area and this is the best pizza I have ever had in my life, and Ive ALWAYS recommended Windy City pizza. I live in Hampton and I am willing to make the drive (45 minutes) and today I made the drive planning on dining in but realized I had a last minute errand. I walked in, not a single customer in the restaurant, and asked if I could order a pizza, run my errand, and come right back. I said willing to pre-pay I was met with a condescending look and was told that was considered a pre order and I could not do that on the weekend. The only reason I see this policy being in place is they dont want the restaurant to fill up and have pre order people not being able to sit, which seems far more rare of an issue than not allowing pre orders on the weekends. An apology wouldnt have done anything but the whole situation was handled rather matter of factish and rudely. Moral: This is the best pizza I have ever eaten and I will never return not due to policy but just the ridiculousness of the management.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Called in an order tonight for pick up got there and saw 5 open tables. Told the hostess we had a call in but would like to eat at the restaurant. Was promptly told no they wouldnt let us cause they are normally busy. She went to ask in the back and becuase 4 people were dicussing it and it seemed to be an issue. I said nevermind if it is an issue and the group dispersed. Had we eaten in, we would have had an appetizer, drinks, the pizza we ordered (deep dish which takes 45 mins to cook) and more than likely dessert. Guess they arent concerned with making money. This was my last visit to your restaurant. Didnt mean to cause an issue by wanting to spend more money at.your restaurant

Ok so I read every review on this restaurant. I wasnt there a year ago so I dont know about getting that rude lady. We had very polite service. The Deep dish was very good. I also got the top appetizer itch the sausage n sauce in a light dough crust. Im from Pittsburgh, and we have 5 of the best pizza places on the planet. I promise my pallet is very good. Dont listen to what anyone is saying that its not good. Ive not eaten everything, but what we had was very good. Trust me., if you come to Va Beach go to Windy City Pizza. I am Not an employee or anything. I just dont like when a review isnt thorough. Dont get pizza close to the beach. Their reviews are Not accurate.

We ordered a deep dish and some wings tonight and thought it was excellent. Lots of cheese (which I love), husband really liked the sauce and we thought the wings were crispy and the sweet red chili was interesting and yummy. I thought the customer service was very nice and friendly. However, after reading some other reviews about politics and "transphobic" comments, Im nervous. If I get confirmation of this business backing anything anti-LGBT or spreading hate of any kind, I will never order from here again and would not recommend it to others.

Not only was the pizza bad the service was even worse! We placed an order worth $40 one being a $20 deep dish pizza and it was not up to par. Called and the manager said "sorry thats our recipe". Asked to speak with owner thinking they would want to keep a customer but he said "we are a small business, if you dont like something just dont order it again". Im big into customer service and this was just a complete fail. I refuse to ever order from here again. And I will be letting everyone I know (my customers included) never to order from here!

I was thrilled when I heard of this place opening as Im from Chicago and miss the pizza. The pizza is outstanding which is why I order from them often (once or twice a week). However I cant give them all stars because the service is horrible. The lady that answers for deliveries (usually the same one) is extremely extremely rude. Customers are what keep your business going and when you answer the phone monotone and not interested in what your customers are ordering its a big turn off.

My boyfriend and I dined in at Windy City Pizza on General Booth Blvd for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The Windy City Special pizza was hands-down the BEST pizza I have ever eaten!! The deep dish crust was not too thick, and not too thin, and the sauce was perfect. It look about 45 minutes to cook, but it was well worth the wait. Our waitress was also extremely pleasant and enthusiastic about our first visit to the restaurant. We will ABSOLUTELY be back!!
