As a person who loves medit. and indian food, guys I must warn you that this place is a rip off. The good reviews you see here are probably written by the employees or their kin. Anyway, I will share the experience my wife and I had at this sham of a place: We went for lunch at this place and ordered - Chicken shawarma sandwich, Pepper chicken and Chicken 65 (all spicy). The waitress repeated the order and confirmed it with us. Chicken shawarma - hardly has chicken in it (charge $7), it was just as thick as a plain naan (including shawarma stuffing - so imagine the shawarma) and tasted very bland. Next is the pepper chicken - essentially it is boiled chicken cubes in tomato sauce (tastes like can tomatoes). Last and horrible dish was Chicken 65 - These guys have no clue about indian food on their menu. The chicken 65 order took a long time and we had to remind them twice. The second time we remined the waitress - she said "Oh the butter chicken, will bring it right over". We corrected her saying its Chicken 65 that we ordered and she realizes that "oh thats right" and rushes to the kitchen. Anyways after about 5 minutes she brings us butter chicken and starts selling it to us (from India) as Chicken 65. She even offers to have the chef come over and validate that this was indeed chicken 65 (did not understand what that meant). Anyway, by that time we were totally upset with all the dishes and decided to just pay, not eat and leave. She offers to box the items which we declined politely. Then she accidentally blabbers - "I can get you the chicken 65 if you really need it". This just made me mad, confirming our suspicion that she ordered butter chicken and the restaurant just tried to sell butter chicken in its place. Beyond all that - the food tasted horrible. One of our friends recommended this place, unfortunately he was not able to visit the place before leaving Syracuse. We shared our experience with his family and will continue to let our friends know about this horrible place in Syracuse! PS: Usually I dont write restaurant reviews. But these guys really inspired me!

The food was very good we thought but service was awful. We waited over 2 hours for our meal about 2 weeks ago. Nothing went right, it seemed our water was always empty. We asked for ketchup for our childs French fries and took over 10 min to get so her food kept getting colder and colder. We ended up leaving after being told our other food was coming and never did until we walked out and they then bagged up what they had cooked. One time the manager came over after about an hr and says all you got so far was chicken nuggets and fries out of all 5 meals and we said yes, our meals were not meals that took long to cook, one was a salad, one was a burger etc. The guy next to us ordered pita chips and hummus and took over 1 hr for him, he still hadnt had food when we left I felt so bad for him waiting for just that. Its not even that they were swamped with customers because at one time there was just us and another couple there. I am not sure as to why the service was so horrible but hope they can find a better serving staff. If so I would have loved it. They have a wonderful small cozy area in the back with red velvet seating which was a nice touch. Hope they can straighten it out fast. Wish them luck but please get better wait staff!!

The food is decent depending on what you order. I got the Butter Chicken and Bhindi Masala. Butter chicken is pretty good and the masala was marginal at best. Neither came with rice though...? And the Babagonoush didnt come with pita or Naan. I got the food through grub hub. To add insult to injury I called the restaurant to see if the situation could be rectified and the woman argued with me insisting that I miss ordered. I did not. Food is ok. Update your menu so you dont deliver half of a dinner.

We went on opening day and were very pleasantly surprised! GREAT food, reasonable prices, friendly staff. They were a little overwhelmed as the place was packed from the time it opened until the time it closed, but the mood was celebratory. I love the mix of middle eastern food (hummus, falafel, tabouleh, etc.) with Indian food (curried vegetables, Indian breads, etc.) I wish them all the best success. They are a welcome addition to the Hawley-Green neighborhood.

Excellent food, halal, and delicious. It is a combo middle Eastern/Indian menu but both cuisines are great. Their service has been pleasant the 3 times I have dinner in, although slow and felt as if the servers were just beginning. No issues of rudeness though. Of note, their naan is more of a roti, but pretty and good in its own right. I recommend the chicken shawarma and nihari.

Good food at a decent price, only one problem please when ordering food bring your own bread. They sent a very large plate of hummus with a "piece " of bread when asked for more bread the waitress kindly said $1.25 for another "piece " of bread . So when going remember bring your own bread

They forgot an item, so I called back and was told itd be sent out right away. Took a while, but it eventually came. Unfortuantly the lamb and rice dish my bf ordered was so full of shards of bone, he couldnt eat it. Buyer beware, the food is delicious, but shards of bone are not.

The best Mediterranean food in Syracuse, very affordable. The servers, the cooks are all just fantastic. Rice is not dry at all, everything i had was prepared with love. Great food, great prices, and I will be eating here again! Welcome to the Hawley Green neighborhood Red Olive!!

great middle-eastern food. not pre-cooked, reheated. actually cooked to order. for the ones, complaining about Indian food. you dont go to IHOP to get your Brazilian grill, then why would you go to a middle-eastern place for Indian food???
