We have lived just down the street from this place for almost 2 years and never thought to give it a try till last night. Weve eaten at Plaza Azteca, Mi Casita and a few others around town and this one has the best salsa which for me is huge. The menu is pretty big but they do rush you a bit to get an order. They were very friendly, especially to my toddler who can be hit or miss in restaurants. My husband had a burrito and loved it, I kept seeing the margaritas go by and they looked yummy! The venue is nothing to get excited over but I would eat here over Plaza Azteca or Mi Casita any day!!

I ate here after reading a review in the local paper that talked it up. The food was very substandard. The place is not much to look at, but thats forgivable if the food is good - but it was not. I got the "Special Dinner" for just under $12. It was all ground beef items, no chicken or steak or anything more interesting than bland mushy ground beef & the tamale was mostly masa harina, very little meat. Granted we dont have good Mexican places in Virginia Beach, but this place should be skipped. Try Gringos Taqueria on Norfolk Ave for MUCH BETTER Mexican.

Me and my wife loved the food here. There were soo many options to choose from, even a healthy section. The food didnt take long and came out warm and fresh. The place felt cozy. The only down side for me and my wife was being looked at and constantly asked questions, I understand good service, but when someone looks at me like they want me its a little creepy. I was just trying to enjoy my food but the one guy who wasnt a waiter kept asking me if everything was okay. Other than that the food and service was really good and I would go back.

Weve been going here for lunch breaks for many years now. When you only have an hour for lunch, you can get in, sit down, order, and be back to work in plenty of time. Its almost like they know what you are going to order before you do. The white sauce for the chips is excellent! True, the staff isnt always that professional, but they get your order correct EVERY time, are very attentive to your needs and are always polite.....what more do you want? Oh, yeah, and its CHEAP! Most lunches are $4-6. You just cant beat it.....

After reading the reviews on here of Mexican restaurants, we went with this one. We were seated immediately, and chips/salsa appeared as we were sitting down. there were 5 of us, and after looking over the menu, we all got different things. Everyone loved the food they got, and the food came fast. Im rating this a 4 instead of a 5 because the chips were a little off somehow, and the first smell as we walked in was not food- it was a strong cleaning scent. But the place was clean, the food was very good, fast, and hot :)

Fantastic food! I prefer going to small business style restaurants while on vacation and reading the reviews before coming here did not steer me wrong! I got the fajitas Texanas and the girlfriend got a fajita burrito and a medium margarita(made strong for sure) food was amazing and at a great price! Being from Ohio and an FFK(former fat kid) I love good quality/quantity food! Will def be back again if we are in the Va Beach area! Highly recommend!

I am always afraid that development will take this away. Best food, nice size servings (unlike some others), seasoned (unlike another chain Ive visited). Owners are always there, friendly waitstaff, love the cheese dip. If you want the white sauce for chips, just ask. I recommend the beef tip quesadilla or taco salad. Hubby would argue the Texas fajitas are to die for.

Mexican food is by far my favorite food of all time, in saying that I have been to a lot of Mexican restaurants, and Ensenada is my favorite! I have been there many many times and they have never disappointed me. I will be super upset when I move and will no longer be near this restaurant. Whenever someone asks me where we should eat I will always say at Ensenada.

This place is good. Whoever wrote "not good mexican" obviously doesnt know what good mexican is. Im mexican and know what REAL mexican food from MEXICO tastes like, and this place is pretty authentic. Also, Gringos Taqueria can not be compared to a mexican restaurant as it is a TEX-MEX restaurant.. which is completely different in taste from authentic mexican food.

Stopped in because it was a Mexican resturaunt and I wanted a Margarita. I always look for a good, authentic Mexican restaurant when i travel. Highly recommend this place. Attentive staff, perfect margaritas and the real deal on the comida, mis amigos. Ordered the beef enchilada and instead of shredded mystery meat, I get real steak strips. Muy delicioso!

I freaking love this place! Its not a chain restaurant and probably needs a little bit of a face lift, but the food is AMAZING! I always eat too much, and leave with the regret that I cant eat this food every day. Classic hole in the wall where the staff is friendly, food is delicious, excellent prices, and its usually not busy.

Overall, I would recommend Ensenada. Went after church on a Sunday afternoon and we were one of three guests there. The staff was very friendly and we received our food almost immediately after ordering. The food was very good (authentic), and at a good price to boot.

This is a pretty good restaurant not best at the beach, but really attentive staff. Food its good but taste pretty standard. Seems clean, and easy access. If you are looking for that Mexican restaurant that has familiar taste this would be your restaurant.

Best service and staff of any restaurant in the kings grant little neck area. Food is always hot, served quick, fair prices, and always more than tasty. Been going since early 2000 and will continue to til I move and will always stop in when visiting Im town.

This used to be my our favorite Mexican joint, but since new ownership it hasnt been the same. Food is lackluster, we tried again today for old time sake and the rice was undercooked and the whole place was freezing.

Roy and Juan are awesome! They make you feel like family. I love this restaurant. This should be your only stop if you are looking for Mexican food at the Beach. Fast, friendly and FUN!
