Terrible experience. Our waitress was silent and straight-faced, and no matter how many smiles and "thank yous" we offered, she said nothing except to get our order. We ordered the guacamole for our appetizer when she dropped off our drinks, which came within decent timing. My sister ordered fried ice cream as her entree and a cheese quesadilla with rice for my nephew. It took over 20 minutes to get my nephews meal, during which we saw our waitress walk by a couple times, but she didnt even glance over. 15 minutes later, my sister still hadnt received her entree, had an empty daiquiri glass sitting in front of her for at least 20 minutes, and our waitress had disappeared altogether. I had to go hunting after her. My nephews meal was already cold and my sister didnt even want her dessert. We just wanted to leave. While I was away, our waitress walked up to me and said, "She just got her dessert." My sister contemplated taking it to go, but would have been a mess of ice cream. About 5 minutes afterward, our waitress poked her unsmiling head around the corner and asked if everything was alright, but at this point, the damage had been done. We replied tersely that we were fine while my sister and nephew ate what they could of her entree. We waited another fifteen minutes with empty dishes in front of us hoping for the check, in which time our waitress had passed by but never checked in on us again. When she finally approached us, we asked for the check, which she provided within decent timing. We marched straight to the cash register, leaving a table full of uncleared dirty dishes behind, and paid for our food. I asked to speak to the manager. The cashier replied that he was "on break," and asked what was the matter. She said they would "speak to the waitress" and apologized for our experience. Well be returning in the future but definitely plan on requesting a different server if were unlucky enough to get stuck with this lady again. What was supposed to be a quick trip for guacamole and dessert ended up taking an hour and a half/forty five minutes.

I used to work here. Management absolutely sucks. Your food should honestly take no longer than 7 minutes to get to your table because none of the food is cooked fresh, all they do is just throw it together and wait for the people to take it to your table. Dont trust anything that is made with "house" liquor, its made with aristocrat, and youre paying way too much for it. The Dos XX draught is really Killians, so get it in the bottle. And yes, just as Generally Magnanimous said, dont try asking for the manager, all they do is whine that another customer is complaining and wait as long as they can until they go over there. Im pretty sure I can guess the waitress who he is talking about too. Ive seen a lady cry over the way management treated her, and all I could do was say Im really sorry. Even when I worked there and customers had a bad time, I was the one who had to take care of problems management should have dealt with. They make the servers pay for food that customers dont like. When you go to the restaurant between 1:30-5:30 half the servers are on, so most likely if its busy you can expect crappy service because servers have twice their tables (I once had 11 tables! That a lot!) The only reason I stuck it in there was the money, however I too dislike how they run things so I left on a whim. Please dont go here if you expect to have a pleasant dinner where the waiter actually cares about the customers like I did, all they care about is the money you give them. I got yelled at by management because I didnt spend enough time in the back because I was taking care of my customers. Travel a little distance and go to Laskin or Haygood, theyre much better. The owners of Plaza Aztecas rock! However, the management here sucks.

I am a huge fan of this particular Plaza Aztecas food, but not so much with their customer service. The time before last, I was late back to work while on my lunch break because our waiter just up and left and a waitress had to take over our section too. The poor girl had too many tables and kept us waiting on our check because our server didnt let anyone know he had to go. Today, I went for a nice lunch out. The pina colada was perfect as always, but after ordering, the server had to come back to verify what I ordered (a beef taco and chicken enchilada without cheese) and he delivered a beef taco and beef enchilada. He came back and I told him I ordered a chicken enchilada and he repeated back the order to me as if he was certain he had it right. I asked him if thats how he wrote it down and he said he did. My husband heard me say I ordered a chicken enchilada and the fact that I had to tell him twice still amazes me how he got it wrong, but not so much that, the fact that he offered to do nothing about it. He just made it out like that is what I ordered and that is what I get. What happened to "the customer is always right?" Fixing an enchilada is not a big deal, but his attitude with us lost him the majority of his tip. We will not be visiting this particular Plaza Azteca again. I shouldve gone with my gut the first time I was there though, I had read reviews on this place were bad.

My least favorite experience in a restaurant in quite some time. We didnt receive sauce we asked for for about 30 minutes. Our server went on a food break and no one ever came to the table so we requested a manager. (We waited about 15 minutes minimum ) He had no real apology but we had a different server immediately. When the food came my friends tacos were soggy and the quesadilla had meat and the most minimal amount of cheese. My food was not at all as described on the menu. There was a mild type of red sauce on the chicken but the photo had blackened shrimp so I naturally assumed the chicken would be as well... not at all. It was for my friends birthday and the only truly good thing was the omg nachos and the drinks. When I told them about the food they pretty much said thats how it comes and the MANAGER said he didnt know what the menu showed but thats how the food came and reluctantly took my meal only off of the check... I work in this industry and am genuinely appalled. Noone cared how our experience was it seemed. Needless to say I will not return here and will continue going to RANCHO GRANDE. That place is amazing and Service even takeout it phenomenal.

This is my family and I, 2nd time visiting this location. We are a family of four and we happen to be African-American. The reason I bring that up is because on both occasions we received poor service. The first visit we were sat right outside the kitchen service door with a party of 5. Needless to say, we didnt like the constant flow of traffic while eating. Today we were seated near the front of the house but it took over 15 mins before they took our drink order?! Wow. I sat and watched 2 other families get serviced even tho they came in after us. Needless to say they were not black. We spoke with the manager who offered a slight discount and only excuse was "there was only one server"...not true. We did not accept his offer. We left and went to Texas Road House. The service was great...our drink order was taken within 5 mins of us being seated. And we tipped very well. f.y.i
