Customer Service!! El Taco Loco is selling a groupon for their Chesapeake location (which apparently has been closed for more than a year). El Taco Loco has sold over 1000 groupons without changing any of the Info. After driving all the way to Chesapeake, we find out it is closed. We called this location and the person on the phone said they would ABSOLUTELY accept the groupon. We drove all the way back to Virginia Beach (essentially wasting about an hour by now). When we go in the Virginia Beach restaurant , we pull up the groupon and the manager tells us they wont accept it because they made up an arbitrary limitation of days theyll accept them (again no where on the groupon) ! We told him we called and talked to someone, he found them and verified that he did say they would accept it, and still told us no! The worst part (now over 2 hours of time wasted) was the way he acted, like ya ya Ive heard this a million times. Why wouldnt you update the Groupon!!! These guys have ok Mexican food and for Virginia Beach it is great, but with their attitude, I will never eat there again!

Ive been coming here for years & I absolutely love this place!!! Im really picky about 2 things my salsa & my chicken & shrimp fajitas. I know ur thinking its just salsa but to me its not. Ive had salsa at many Mexican restaurants & theirs is just the right spice & tomatos. (Cant explain it) Their shrimp is just the right decent size since other places seem to have little tiny shrimp but not here. Also I like that here I dont have to pick & choose to have my chicken & shrimp fajitas. Here its already on the menu which I love. (Easy ordering) Place is always packed on the weekends so if u dont mind the 10 or so min wait & being aroud that many people crammed like sardines in a rather small place then go at lunch time or early in the evening.

I do not understand how this restaurant received the good reviews which led us to eat here. The appearance of dining area was old and dirty and my menu had food smeared on each page. We ordered the $7 crab dip and it did not come out until our chips were gone and meal was almost with it. It was clearly canned crab meat w/a strong fishy taste and when I asked the manager to take it off our bill because we did not like it and were not going to eat it, I met resistance even though we ordered another dip in its place. There are too many gooood Mexican Restaurants in Tidewater for anyone to have to eat this substandard slop! I strongly advise treat yourself to a better establishment if you are thinking about getting Mexican food.

I was so excited to try El Taco Loco in Va Beach because I had heard some good things about it from friends. The entire time I was dining I was served by so many different waiters that I had no idea who my actual waiter was. When my food finally got to my table, I realized that the plate it was served on had not been fully cleaned and was dirty. I told someone that I needed a new plate, and when I got my new plate all was well... until I received my check. They had charged me for both plates and refused to take off the plate that I had them take back. I will NEVER eat here again.

This is not good mexican food, Ive had me mexican food on the west coast and the border and this place is super bland and not to mention $4 for one taco. Plus the waitress was never there after we got our food we had to wave someone down for silverware... . The only good thing was the food came out fast but we couldnt eat it without silverware... overall we will never come back here again

If you eat here you will never want to go back to the typical Tex-Mex restaurants in the area. This is real authentic Mexican food. Not the ground hamburger you get an other restaurants. This service is absolutely great. Get the tableside guacamole with mango. They have three restaurants one in Chesapeake one at Hilltop and one behind Sams Club on Virginia Beach Boulevard

Awesome chips & salsa, their fresh guacamole is always on point, & their Shrimp fajitas are so good! Customer service is also great. Ive heard their Chesapeake restaurant isnt good at all. But Ive always eaten at the one at hilltop in Virginia beach. U would think they are the same but I guess not. So this review is for the hilltop location. Must try eating there!!!

Did a delivery next door at Sams Club, and all I could smell was food! After a long day of trucking I was hungry. Went in about 15 minutes before they closed. They were gracious enough to take my to go order...Three fish tacos, Cancun sauce on the side. Went back to my truck, and chowed down. The tacos were delicious!! I absolutely recommend this place!!!

This place had great food but simply because of my rude server Tillo, i will not be returning! When it came time to pay the bill, i noticed alot of upcharges on everything i order, so just wondering why so many of them. i ask him and he just starts laughing in my face i am a businesses man and that is dirty business.

We were told to go to the bar to order food but then the bartender told us she was too busy to take food orders and we would have to wait until she went around and took all drink orders first. Then she took several drink orders for people who came after us while we stood there waiting.. Very rude. Poor service.

Everytime I am in town from Kentucky visiting my family I have to make sure I come and see all the wonderful people here at El Taco Loco with my amazing mom. I have to say I am really sad I didnt get to see Coco this time.... This place has amazing food and some wonderful drinks.(love the margaritas)

The restaurant is hard to locate even though we used GPS. Second, the food is over priced and they provide very small portions. The fish tacos that we ordered looked like frozen fish bites from Wal-Mart. 6 small pieces of the steak with lettuce and tomatoes for $9.00. Go somewhere else!

This place has great Mexican food, and does unique things to put a twist on Mexican food. For an example they have Mexican BBQ ribs and pulled pork has a protein. This adds to the original variety of beef or chicken. I had the Carlos Extravagante Burrito which was huge and delicious.

Hands down our favorite place to go for dinner, drinks, and good times. They remember us by name, and always treat us like family. Carlos, Coco, Winchell (sp?) are the best in the business! If youre not into Mexican food, try the Kobe beef burger with the 24 hr smoked brisket. Mmm. Mmm.

Ive been eating Mexican food in Va Beach and Norfolk for 25 yrs. Hands down this is the be spot. Better food, more options, better drinks and superior service without paying more. Coco and Gonzalo are always especially friendly as are all the staff!

I found a hair in my chips in two different times I went there. Reasonable prices? I dont think paying 3.95$ for half avocado is reasonable price. Guacamole is 9.95$ if they make it in your table....i would say that place is a joke.
