I called in a pick up order of the 1 topping large pizza and 12 wings special. The person taking my order was professional. I received 10 wings and the pizzas cheese was spoiled. My son ate a whole slice before I bit into the pizza. He said it smelled funny but when I took a bite I knew the cheese was bad. Ive eaten here before and had great pizza in house. I called to see if they would replace the pizza with wings. My son ate those and they were delicious. I was told by the manager Carlos, that they would replace the pizza with more wings, or refund $9 of the $19.95. My son was still hungry and I had yet to eat along with my husband, so we ordered more wings and brought the pie back as requested by Carlos. When Carlos came to the front, he smelled the pizza, said nothing was wrong with it, and that I just didnt want the pizza!! One slice was gone and another bit, where I tasted it, I told him he should taste it, Carlos refused to taste his own product that he claimed nothing was wrong with. My son and I were up all night going back and forth to the bathroom. He is fine now, but the fact that the pizzas cheese was bad and managers attitude was worst, means that my family will NEVER eat here again. Which is a shame because I ordered their take out because the pizza Ive had in house on lunch a few times has been great, better than the main chains in the area. What ever the reason for the bad pie, the bad service made this post possible, Ive never been treated in such a way before. Carlos actually argued with me in front of other pick customers and in house customers, when all he had to do was take responsibility for his product. I paid $19.95 for 22 deliciously breaded wings with buffalo sauce on the side, a sleepless night, a 4 year old with the runs, and to be yelled at by a manager, Never Again!!!!!!!!!!

Weve been regulars at Bella Luna for ten years. Rosa and Jose greet us, show us to our regular table (if available), and treat us like family. Not once in ten years have we ever had any food item that was less than excellent. The service is outstanding. Every friend I bring here, including some very discriminating world travelers, raves about the place. Heres an anecdote: I brought a dear friend for dinner one night, and introduced him to Jose. My friend looked over the menu and said what he wanted wasnt really on it -- he rattled off a pasta combination Id never heard of. I was embarrassed, and was about to apologize to Jose for him when Jose repeated the order and said OK. Not long thereafter Jose delivered to my friend exactly what he had asked for -- which my friend found delicious. There are much higher priced Italian restaurants in Richmond in more exotic locations, but youll not find better food or better service. Bella Luna is just outstanding. And the "McDonalds" review below is . . . ridiculous.

The patron who rated this restaurant poorly comparing it to Wendy or McDonalds is clearly missing something. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was magnificent. I have not had food this good since I left home. The pizza is awesome and the soup was great everything I have eaten here has been excellent. Our every need was attended to promptly by a lovely Italian man with a pleasant attitude. Yes, the food does cost more than Wendys or McDonalds but for those of us willing to pay for a true culinary experience I say you will not be let down. This would be a truly romantic place for a date. I encourage others to discover the secret!!!!

A hidden gem is their very large private party room that you cant see from the street. We invited our out of town guests to our wedding rehearsal dinner, had 60+ guests and a feast of Salad, Lasagna, Spaghetti Alfredo & Chicken Parm. The food, service and price cant be beat. It got great reviews from the mostly Italian guests from Pittsburgh and no one could believe how inexpensive it was. The sauce was like my Grandmothers, the ricotta in the lasagna was fresh & very tasty & the special olive oil mix had everyone dunking their bread - its as good as anwhere Get there now before others find out and it becomes hard to book..

We went here on a whim because we both wanted Italian and it was close. She ordered the Lasagna and I ordered Shrimp Fettuccine. The lasagna was fantastic and was a huge serving. The fettuccine was also delicious with a great sauce and flavor. I knock a star off because the fettuccine only had 4 or 5 shrimp and I think 6 or 7 would have made it worth the extra couple dollars over the regular fettuccine. We were also served bread that makes it all worth going back again; crispy on the outside, but soft and fluffy on the inside. The service was also excellent and we will definitely return.

The food is over priced and not good for the taste buds. You can get more food at Wendys or McDonalds and pay way less for the same taste. Dont order the subs with any kind of meat because the amount of meat on the subs or sandwitches is so little and over priced. The pasta is so bland tasteing and so little I would rather eat the dirt off the floor. O and if you want to be ignored by the service and not get your drinks refilled then you should go there. So if you want to over pay on crapy food and get bad service then this is the place to go.

We went here for dinner while staying across the street at Sleep Inn. It smelled great as soon as we walked in. We were waited on promptly, and served some bread while we looked at the menu. I ordered the Bella Luna spaghetti (with sausage, meatballs, peppers, onions), and L. got the lasagna. Hers was really good, and mine was amazing! Big servings, of which we ate it all to fuel up for a long bike ride tomorrow on the Virginia Capital Trail. Quite simply the best Italian Ive had in ages!

I was looking for a place to go on my birthday with my girlfriend that was close to the hotel that we were staying at. We decided to give this place a try and was very impressed to say the least. I feel like I got more than my moneys worth and the shrimp parmigiana was amazing. Not only that, but the waiter was on my drink with very turn. That made me really happy. Great service, great food, for a reasonable price. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Our family loves Bella Luna! The location is in an average area of town, but dont let that fool you - its a great place to eat if you want Italian. Dont hesitate to bring your family and friends. I brought my parents there and I wondered if they, being picky New Yorkers, if they were going to like it - they enjoyed it very much! The place is always clean, food is always good and the owners and servers are always, always friendly.

Ate two slices of pizza. Far too much sauce and overall the slices were undercooked, especially the cheese. If their oven was able to cook the cheese (you want to see some browning), and if they knew how much sauce to out on their pies, then I would give it four stars. The dough was good but was soggy due to overabundance of sauce. As it stands, I would not purchase again.
