My advice: DONT GO THERE One evening in Spring 2005, I had a business dinner with my co-workers at Brio at Stony Point Shopping Center in Richmond, VA. I had a tiramisu for my dessert. In it, there was a piece of plastic. I quickly let our waiter know. He didnt care less and just cleared my plate, saying "Ok". Frustrated, I asked him to bring the manager so that I can talk to him instead, then he agreed and disappeared for good 40 min. Since it was a business dinner, I did not have time to stay there forever. So I went to the back area in the restaurant where all waiters and waitresses hang out and told the situation so I could talk to the manager right away. Then one of the waitresses there went into the kitchen right behind and came out with him. Surprisingly, he seemed he had known what had been going on but just decided to bother coming out to apologize. He said, "Oh. Go to the front to remove your tiramisu from your bill" and even dared to have said, "Is there anything we can do for you now?" At that point, I decided to leave the restaurant quickly. When I went to the front to have our bill taken care of, instead of our waiter who had dissapeared, I had a chance to have a casual chat with hostesses there. They were not surprised to hear my story. Apparently, similar things happen at this restaurant on such a regular basis that they dont care less. They have the worst customer service I have encountered in my life. I have never returned to the restaurant since and never will. And neither should you.

We had dinner at Brio Tuscan Grille. I have been there twice before and had good experiences, I may even go back, but they were off this time. We ordered from the Prix Fixe menu. Kathy had the Bistecca Salad and Chick Limione and Mini Chocolate Cake. I had the Lobster Bisque, Artichoke encrusted Pork Chop and the Tiramisu. They seated us outdoors even though there was a really ominous black cloud. They assured us if it started to rain, they had everything under control. Not to worry about anything on the table, just go inside and they would find somewhere to seat us. We ordered our drinks, the bread service arrived ( good bread), and the starters were delivered as the rain hit. A manager appeared, said, grab what you can and follow her. So we each got a starter and a wine glass. She re-sat us. We didnt see our waiter for ten minutes. I asked him for another water, that was another five minutes. They did not replace the bread service. When the food came out the pork chop was like dry cardboard. The deserts were good, the starters were good I tasted Kathys Chicken Limone and it was so so. Price before gratuity was $84.75

We have had many visits to Brio and they are generally pretty good. Overall the place is clean and the menu decent. We did notice recently that a decent number of their chairs need to be tightened and saw multiple people grab another because the one that they were seated in was unsteady. Not a big deal at all, but should still be addressed. Also, on our most recent visit, I decided to order something off of their special menu that was provided with the normal one. It was a mistake. I got the fish and chips, which werent bad at all, but $17 for two small pieces of fish and some fries is absurd. I wish I had gotten one of the normal entrees that they offer that are worth the price. All in all, the restaurant is good and the atmosphere pleasant. A couple hiccups during our last visit were the exception and we intend to continue going to Brio.

The service was good, however it is overpriced average food. I ordered the Lobster Bisque which was quite lovely, well portioned and priced accordingly. This was followed by the Kale Ceasar with an added portion of grilled chicken. While the portion of chicken was good I found it extremely dry. On top of that, the Kale Ceasar shouldve been named a Ceasar with Kale Garnish because thats pretty much all it was. Finally, got the Creme Brûlée for dessert. It was good, but nothing special. There is a decent wine list, but I didnt get any because quite honestly for double the price I could go to the store and get a bottle for what you pay for a glass. It was just overall kind of an average eating experience with a massive price tag. If someone asked, I would say to save your money and go somewhere like Olive Garden or CanCan instead.

I just love Brio. Since it opened, my family and I have probably visited Brio 30 times. The food is really great quality and tasty but it is relatively pricey. I would rather pay a little extra for the better quality. We have had spotty service on occasion but its never been bad enough to make us consider not going back. Whenever weve had a problem, we let the manager know and theyve always attempted to fix the problem. My only real complaint is that they always seem to update the menu and get rid of my favorites! The benefit to that though, is that they update their menu often and add in new items. The pork chops are always good and they have the best soups! The lobster bisque that they offer everyday is good, but their tomato bisque and mushroom bisque are probably the best Ive had.

The first time I went I was with friends and loved the lunch. Since I live in Williamsburg I am not able to frequent the restaurant more often. The meal was excellent, the selection was excellent, the service was excellent and guess what...thats right the atmosphere was open and airy ....excellent. This weekend I plan on working in the yard (live in Colonial Williamsburg) but after that I plan on taking my wife to Richmond for dinner at Brio. Williamsburg, VA has numerous restaurants so the expectations are high when dinning in the Colonial Capital. Brio would make a welcome addition to our community.

I live literally across the street from the restaurant so I have visited so many times it is hard to keep track. Yesterday was one of the worst restaurant experiences ever. Service has gotten so bad that it is not worth the trip and after waiting soooooooooo long the food it was not even luke warm when served. Service at the bar is terrible as well because they cannot keep good help and are always so short handed.....you cant even blame the waiters. There needs to be new management who know how to run a busy restaurant......trust me this is not an isolated incident.

Delicious food. Courteous and professional wait staff and management. Lovely ambiance. Ample wine servings. $$$ depending on what you order. (Average app is $10 - $15, Entrees are $20+) Warm Italian breads and a unique crunchy pretzel like bread. Includes a happy hour with bar. Outdoor seating. Great place for long diner conversations. Food prep can be a little long. We booked their room for group dining. Closed off from the rest of restaurant for privacy. Very spacious for 15+ people to sit comfortably. There was enough room to take a group picture!

My wifes pasta pesto was extremely overcooked. We never received any complimentary bread until after our food arrived. He raspberry mojito wasnt properly strained and continued to clog her straw. My rum and Pepsi suspiciously tasted more like Kentucky Gentleman instead. All the vegetables with my crab cakes were overcooked as well, along with my father-in-laws mashed potatoes. This will be last time we ever spend a dime at this establishment.
