Counter service and food earned 3 stars. The breakfast sandwich i ordered included a nice salty crispy bacon. But the egg was flavorless - Id like to see it fried or perhaps scrambled with sour cream and herbs. The cornbread was sweet & moist and a nice compliment to my breve & e-book. The other two stars came from the small business, small town feel of watching bakers kneed bread, the dinners-to-go in the cooler, the fresh loaves cooling on racks and a pretty constant hum of activity you dont often see in cookie cutter franchises. Id visit again in nicer weather to sit on the patio and read and people watch for a few hours.

We ordered about 140 individually-sized pies for our wedding in August 2015 and Beth and her team went above and beyond! The seasonal fruits were delicious, and Beth took the time to meet with us to discuss our preferences. We recently were back in town and ordered two regular sized pies (apple cranberry with a gingerbread crumble), which were also amazing. Love their breads and soups as well. Definitely recommend!!

My wife purchased a bag of sandwiches to go from South St under for lunch (2/27/14) and the sandwiches would have been good, except fr the fact that they tasted like lemon dishwasher soap had been added to them, so they were either made on an un-rinsed surface or the person preparing them had not properly rinsed their hands. Lemon dish-washing/hand soap flavor does not work with a Reuben!

One of my favorites for lunch. Delicious sandwiches, and great soups (and this is from someone who rarely orders soup out). Go for the 1/2 sandwich and soup, the BLT is particularly tasty! If youre going for a whole sandwich, the Chicken Ciapini is the best one Ive had. And DO NOT SKIP DESSERT. These folks know how to make a snickerdoodle.

Enjoyed visiting this quaint bistro with my sister while we were visiting Leesburg. It can be a bit cramped, and the decor leaves much to be desired. Yet the sandwiches we got were good -- so good we ordered some more! Were not from Leesburg, but the place came highly recommended from the locals.

I go here every Saturday morning for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich is pretty standard but the coffee is amazing. The staff is always super accommodating and friendly. South Street Under really has that home town feel to it, and I am proud to be a loyal customer :)

I was going here for lunch every Saturday for a couple months on my way home for work. The soups in my experience have been lack luster along with a lot of the sandwiches, but its utilitarian and very quick.
