After reading the many Yelp reviews about this place, I decided to give it a shot. I ordered delivery and without further delay, where is my review. The Good: No Delivery Minimum- most places that offer delivery require customers to spend a certain amount of money to order. Other places may add on a delivery fee and expect a tip. Alamo BBQ does not have a delivery minimum. I ordered my entree which was under $10 with no problem. Delivery Speed- After placing my order, the food arrived 15-20 minutes later. Considering that I ordered it during a time when the rush hour traffic was out in full force, this was incredible timing by the delivery guy. Portion Size- As you can see in the picture that I posted, you get a nice helping of food if you order the BBQ Platter. You will not feel hungry after finishing the meal. The Bad: Beef Brisket and Pulled Chicken- Both meats were slightly lukewarm and somewhat dry. From the other reviews posted, the pulled pork and fish tacos were the favored meat items at Alamo BBQ. Jalapeno Mac & Cheese- Im on the fence about this because while I thought it was tasty, I have tasted better Jalapeno Mac & Cheese from Famous Daves. Overall- Amid the problems that I had with some of my food items, the other food items were good and the service and prices were great. This is truly a place to order from when you are hungry and need food delivered in a hurry. If I order from them again, I will be sure to try the pulled pork and fish tacos. FOUR STARS.

Clearly no one cares about making edible food for delivery. The whole dinner was cold and old when it arrived. The ribs were fatty and looked and tasted like they had been sitting on a warmer for hours. We didnt eat more than a bite because were afraid they werent safe. The cornbread was slightly stale and had a tiny dab of what might have been honey butter melted onto its cold top. It was barely visible, so its hard to say exactly what it had been. It was pretty clear that the cornbread had been sitting for an hour or so on the same warmer as the ribs. The brownie had been stuck inside the carton with the ribs and was saturated with BBQ sauce. It was so stale it was crumbly and had a metallic taste. Again, we didnt dare try to eat it. Basically, we paid $35 for a meal that was inedible. I called to tell Alamo how bad the food was...thinking they would be as surprised as we were at how bad the food was when we got it. They werent surprised at all. In fact, they explained that their orders got backed up for several hours and some of them took a really long time to get them delivered. When I repeated that I was unhappy and that the food was no edible, I got no apology....just "I guess, I can let the manager know". Im pretty sure the manger does know, and doesnt care.

Took a trip to Church Hill to see why Alamo was considered the #2 barbeque place in the area behind Q, which happens to be my favorite place. Its located on the corner in a residential area and looks pretty rundown and theres only outdoor seating under a tent. The menu is small, but the prices are reasonable. I only tried two of the food items, the pulled pork sandwich and the cowboys beans. The sandwich was pretty good, especially once i added the barbeque sauce they provided. I got an unexpectedly large portion of cowboy beans, which contained lots of chunks of meat, however, they seemed to be just very spicy without much other flavoring. Drinks are served in cans, so there is not possibility of getting a refill. Overall, I thought it was ok. I thought the prices were reasonable and it was a good value, with the large portions of sides. In comparison to Q, however, their sandwiches are smaller, they dont have as many sauce choices, there is no interior seating, drinks are non refillable and strangely, they dont serve french fries. If I lived in the area, I might stop by and grab something to go from time to time, but its not worth the trip from my house when Q is much closer and better overall.

Well apparently this place USED to be really good. I had them once before a few months ago and thought it was mediocre, but I figured id give them another shot since I have heard how great there food was. I will definitely not be trying them again. Heres the summary of this experience; - attempted to call in the order for to go, but after sitting on hold for 8+ minutes I gave up and decided to just go order the food in person and wait for it. I figured they were busy. I got there and they were not. - the girl working the window was really nice - I ordered one meal to eat there and one to go. Both were packed up to go. - portions were small, especially for a bbq place and half the meat in both of the platter meals was just solid hunks of fat. - The food that I ate at the table there was lukewarm even though it was apparently "freshly prepared" a minute earlier - flavor was by no means anything special - Conclusion: not even worth the 10 min drive to get there, much less the $12 for each meal. Will NOT be going back and will NOT recommend to others.

Ive always loved them i used to recommend them to anyone i know who recently move to churchill area. Brisket was amazing. I would give 5 stars but recently there has been a change in taste and portioning. Food doesnt taste as fresh i ordered a platter with double brisket and got double pulled pork. What was I supposed to do with a butt load of pulled pork! Ive always ordered there jalapeno mac, this time it tasted old and cold the corn bread used to taste fresh with real corn and yummy honey butter last time it was hard cold and gross. Not sure if it was just an off day for them but I was highly disappointed :( Alamo get it together!

Said they werent "Ready".....Let my start by saying the website clearly indicated that they opened at 11am today. I called promptly at 11am to place my offices order, and was immediately put on hold. When the employee returned to my call he told me "we arent ready...need about another 30 min. to an hour, can you call back" . I kindly let him know that wouldnt work for me, because I hoped to have my food delivered in about an hour. I understand things happen sometimes, but its also a little ridiculous. I mean its not like they open at 5am.....Sorry for the rant ....Im HANGRY and my coworkers and I wanted some damn BBQ lol.

3rd time Ive visited. The 1stx I ordered the spare ribs with b/beans, coleslaw, corn bread, it was ok, I have had better smoked BBQ. I thought its a little too pricey. My daughters like the place, but I think its more of the novelty for the area yuppies. Today was the last time I will spend money there. My daughter wanted to go, so ok, I ordered a unsweetened tea, which was not available, BBQ wo the bun and slaw. I actually waited 40 mins to get it. I recieved 1/2 c of pulled smoke meat, texture was soggy, could not really taste the pork- more smoke than flavor and I paid $4.00 for it! Will not happen again.
