Pros: Excellent sushi and good atmosphere. Theyre one of the few sushi bars that I know that will make Natto sushi rolls. Try it if youre brave enough, it tastes like blue cheese. The Chirashi is an excellent deal and I highly recommend it. $15 for a beautifully laid out selection of sashimi over rice with the usual miso soup and salad on the side. Cons: They cant make ramen to save their life. I ordered beef ramen and it came with bits of beef, the kind that you get in canned soup. Noodles, broth, bits of beef and thats it, no other toppings at all. Not even the broth was good, it was far too spicy to drink. Worst of all the noodles tasted like they were the 50 cent pre-packaged kind. Exact same crinkle pattern and consistency. I even asked them but they say they arent pre-packaged. Walk half a block up the street and order ramen at Cafe Asia if you want to know what its supposed to taste like. Overall: Excellent sushi but I would be wary of the other non-sushi items on their menu.

From the first time to the 100th time I have never been disappointed in this small but cozy family sushi restaurant. Just like the quiet hidden gems in Japan, I have finally found one hidden in Rosslyn. The owners are like long time friends who remember your favorite seats to what you love to eat. Their suggestions are always excellent. You must eat the "STTR" (spicy tuna tempura roll) and their new roll "Fire roll" (the freshest spicy salmon roll with avocado and salmon in and out). I wish I could eat here every single day, but its not possible with my work schedule. I hope you will check out this place and enjoy it as much as I have. Just tell your good friends, I want to make sure I have a seat when I visit again. :)

Mediocre neighborhood Japanese restaurant fails to meet expectations. Okay I may be a bit of a snob because I lived in Japan for a couple of years but even the simplest of all simple dishes (hot soba noodles in tsuyu) failed! Their sushi is tasteless and despite being in Rosslyn their prices on their non sushi items are gougy. Theres nothing glaringly wrong here except for a pervasive sense of mediocrity. The service is not substandard but there is a lack of enthusiasm and urgency thats standard even at an interstate WaWa. Unsuspecting lunch crowds with limited time and work on their mind gives them their prime business. Once observed at leisure their lack of quality becomes obvious. Avoid this one.

I went based on the google reviews but I was very disappointed: I asked for agedashidofu (fried tofu) without katsuobushi (boneto flakes) and it came with the latter anyway. The sushi was not good: the rice was too dry/not sticky. The Iguana roll (asparagus and shitake rapped with avocado) had slight chemical [after?] taste. Tobiko (flying fish roe) nigiri had food coloring (red instead of orange). Ume-maki (pickled plum) did not come with shiso leaves. I thought I ordered kampyo-maki (seasoned gourd) but I got what looked and tasted like carrot-maki, instead. I also had avocado-maki, natto-maki and ikura (salmon roe) nigiri which were OK.

It took them 10 minutes to take the drinks order, another 5 minutes to bring them (it was not busy at all, they had 5 tables including us). The food was ok, but they forgot to bring the desert. It was not a problem, everybody can just forget, but when she realized she forgot the ice cream she goes: "ow, no ice cream?????" (she had poor english too) i felt like i forgot to bring her the ice cream not viceversa. We paid, i left her less than 10% tips and she goes:"it is 10-15% tips you have to leave". i asked her if that is obligatory and she said yes. I didnt want to tell her anything, left 20% tips and went out. Worst experience ever.

We just moved to the area and decided to search out a good "local sushi" place. We introduced ourselves and had a great first experience. We were welcomed on the outdoor patio with our dog, and treated to a specialty roll on the house (the "SSTR" roll- very tasty). The sushi was fresh and well prepared. The sake was smooth and reasonably priced. The service was pleasant and attentive. We will definitely go back...I hope they can maintain the same standard theyve established the first time! Our bill for two people, 5 rolls, miso soup and a bottle of sake was $60.

Went there as a group after visiting Arlington National Cemetery. The sushi was excellent, and the 2 members of our party who didnt indulge enjoyed their teriyaki chicken. It was a lovely evening out on the patio with our junmai sake. However while the waitress was very friendly, she didnt clear our plates before bringing our dessert or even before presenting the check. We just had to sit there with our dirty dishes instead of being able to relax.

Although I am not a connoisseur of sushi by any means, I thought the sushi was quite enjoyable and it was priced cheaper than other establishments. I also ordered the teriyaki chicken and thought it was quite good; not the best Ive ever had, but it was still delicious. They have seating outside, and although I order my stuff to-go when I visit, I think it would be a nice place to sit and eat on a cool summer night or for an autumn lunch/dinner.

I came here to use a Groupon deal I had purchased, and I probably wont ever be back. They have a decent variety of sushi, however everything we ordered was mediocre. Some of the fish didnt seem to be cut properly, and they were quite stingy with the amount of fish inside the rolls. In fact, the two guys I was with each ate about 20 pieces of sushi rolls and were still so hungry that they stopped at Wendys for burgers after we left.

Fantastic... One of the best sushi places Ive been to in years. The fish was so incredibly fresh. The rolls were well portioned and well flavored. The prices were average. The service was impeccable. The spicy tuna was flaming. The only thing that was lacking was ambience but being a stones throw from the metro station makes up for that. Ill be coming here every time Im in DC-and maybe a few more times on this trip.

Most efficient service I have had in a restaurant in the Rosslyn area. The food was perfect for what I needed. I had the lunch box c for my lunch today. It came with plenty of sushi, soup, salad, tempura, veggies, rice, teriyaki salmon, and oranges. It was a good price for everything, around $9. You pay the same amount for lunch at any other place in Rosslyn but dont get nearly the quality nor service.

Beyond terrible! I waited for ten minutes to be seated and all servers plus hostess didnt seem to care. I asked on 3 separate occasions to be seated and both the waitress and hostess rudely stated they would get to me. The third attempt was the last straw when the reply was hostile, derogatory, and just plain mean. I left immediately and found a welcoming and hospitable restaurant down the road.

Ive never been given boiling hot water instead of tea before.... and the rice in the sushi was hard, not light and fluffy. I wanted to order dessert, but the waiter gave the check before letting me think or even drink my tea, seemed like she wanted me to leave. I felt so bad for waking up the sushi chef. (I couldnt sit where I asked because he was sleeping).
