Great place to take the family for some hibachi. The kids menu is very reasonable, and the same portion size as the adult meals which cost twice as much. Drinks are not included with the kids meals. I knew my six year old wouldnt even finish half of his meal, so rather than waste food, I just got a sushi roll and picked at his rice and veggies. I always feel guilty ordering for my picky eater, knowing full well Ill be the one eating most of it. Im sure theres a restaurant industry term for parents like me. Usually I drink the price equivalent of an adult entree in beer anyway, but since they no longer have beer on draft here, that wasnt happening. The little guy did scarf down the beef like a champ. All three of the boys loved the filet mignon kids entree. My wife had the shrimp meal which was good. The side options were soup or salad, and we ended up with quite a surplus of both. They even gave me a soup and salad with my roll, which certainly didnt include it. Our chef did the usual routine: volcanos, tossing eggs, shrimp toss etc. Ive seen better. Id give him an 8. The kids loved every second of his performance. Its hibachi. Its predictable. They serve tasty food at a fair price, with a side of showmanship. The sushi was better than I expected. We went home with about 3 lbs of leftovers. Our tab for two adults and four kids (no alcohol) was $105 + tip, which seemed a little steep given the fact that I didnt have a proper entree. Its not going to become our new regular spot, but well be back.

I have been here twice so far. First with family and parents. Last time with family and extended family. Our groups were 8-9 each time and they were able to accommodate us. Kids loved watching the flames and tricks. The food is awesome. My son devoured all of the shrimp tempura and his steak. The girls loved their fried rice and chicken as well as edamame and their Shirley Temples. I really enjoyed all the sushi rolls we ordered. They were delicious. I really like everything about them, from the presentation to all of the flavor. My husband is a big fan of scallops. I wish I could eat scallops, but cannot. He finished all of them, so they must have been good. So I settled with my filet mignon and shrimp usual, which did not disappoint. Good time here at Osaka. The chef was friendly. The waitress came over a lot to make sure we were taken care of. I would come again. Especially for the yum yum sauce and sushi.

My wife and I recently started going to Shiro after stumbling upon it accidentally (had no idea it was there - shoved back in that corner), and weve been pleasantly surprised. The decor/interior is obviously heavily used, as they get alot of traffic, so its not going to win any awards there....but what they dont have in looks, they make up for in service. The staff has been exceedingly friendly the few times ive been in there. Their habachi dishes are good. The fried rice is also good, but a bit oily, but I happen to like it. I can see how others might not, however. Havent had much of the sushi, but what I have had is not bad. Overall, nothing on the menu is groundbreaking in terms of taste...but I want to keep going back due to the staff. Highly recommended if youre in Kingstowne.

Went here Sunday night with my family and had a great time! The staff was very friendly, and quick with drinks and refills. The chef was great, and was very entertaining, and most of all the food was great. I went to another Osaka and the ribeye was kinda tough, but here it was perfect. Juicy and tender like ribeye is supposed to be. All the food was fresh and flavorful. Just an all-around great experience. Well done Osaka Kingstowne! (by the way, I saw another review that mentioned department of health and could find nothing online to substantiate this claim)

My friends, family, and I ate at Osaka Japanese Steak House last week. We had previously frequented Shiros many times over the past ten/fifteen years, but we were interested to try Osaka. I must say at first we were skeptical, because of our loyalty to Shiros, but I must admit we really enjoyed the food and service at Osaka. The new salad dressing is delicious...a friend said she felt like drinking it after finishing the lettuce. We also all really like the new sauces.

I have had many fine meals at Shiro, in Kingstowne. My favourite cook Andrew as he is friendly, entertaining, and very skilled. The Hibachi chicken, shrimp, and "yum yum" sauce are incredible. The prices and portions are fair. I discovered that I get larger portions when there are fewer customers at the table. A negative that still annoys me is that some waitresses wont accept expired coupons. However, I love this restaurant and recommend it highly.

First time here with my wife came in at 8 oclock on a cold Sunday night. Still had quite a few people in here. Everything was top-notch the service the way the food was prepared and the taste of the food. I would recommend this restaurant to everybody. What a pleasant surprise. The portions are so big that everyone around us including ourselves took half the food to go with us so it turns out to be a great deal also.

Ugh. Shrimp had a weird taste to it. Steak was nothing special. Also, they CHARGE you for the fried rice! While the prices were already more than other hibachi places, I was shocked to see a charge on the bill of $2.95 for "fried rice." Im anything but cheap, but come on, fried rice is included everywhere else. Also the waitress was very rude when we asked for separate checks. Will not be going here again.

This is one of the best restaurants weve eaten at. The service was as good as it gets. It was busy and when there was going to be a wait, the owner, who is a chef, cooked our food himself to avoid the delay. The quality of food was the best hibachi weve ever eaten. The hibachi wasnt overly sauced and had just the right flavor. The sushi was good as well. We will be back regularly!

Great small and family friendly neighborhood restaurant. Fresh sushi made quickly to order, hibachi is yummy and fun to witness being prepared, delicious cocktails, and affordable prices. All but one table is set up for hibachi dinners, large bar with additional seating for those ordering drinks and sushi. Great service. Highly recommend!

This place is awesome. The Sushi is great and well prepared and the hibachi grill is the best. A little pricey, but its the experience. As for all the complaints about the grease...they ALL smell like that. Its what you come for or not. A good place for special occasions.

Fun experience. Typical Japanese steakhouse where the food is cooked in front of you (if you dont order sushi). The sushi is good on top of the regular teriyaki chicken etc. Definitely recommended over most other restaurants at Kingstowne.

This place was good when they were Shiros, now they have changed the soup, rice, Sushi, Sashimi, a lot of the staff, and now, for the most part, they arent as good. I wont be going back any more after years of enjoying the place....sad....
