Was very disappointed in our experience at Burtons tonight. The service was horrendous. We made reservations, although it ended up being pretty much empty when we got there. After we were seated one of the waiters eventually came over and said our waiter was finishing up with something and would be right over but hed asked this other waiter to go ahead and greet us, so he handed us menus, didnt bring water or ask if we wanted water or anything. We never did see the guy that was supposed to be our waiter, this same guy ended up being the only one who assisted us at all. Everything was incredibly slow, between the time for us to be seated, to getting menus, to ordering and then getting drinks, to then ordering food. If a place is just busy and service is slow, I can understand that and wont be so frustrated. But it wasnt just slow service, there was no service. Both of my parents finished their drinks shortly after our main courses arrived, mom had a Sprite, dad had a beer, and they were never offered refills or water. My food was lukewarm when it was brought to the table, my moms was hot and dads was warm. Couldnt even let the waiter know so it could be corrected because we never saw him again. He asked us once, moments after the food was delivered, as he walked past, if our food was alright. He didnt return until 40+ minutes later to clear our plates. At which time the empty glasses were still ignored, and he didnt offer us the check or a dessert menu. Finally managed to flag him down to ask for a dessert menu (this was supposed to by my birthday celebration and we remembered from a previous visit their desserts being good, and foolishly thought that those shouldnt take too long). Had to flag him down again to order our desserts, which we decided to request in to go boxes - still hadnt been able to get drinks refilled - and to request the check. Getting the check was the quickest part of the night - we were still waiting for the desserts when it came. Evidently they couldnt find lids for the mini Mason jars the desserts came in - so eventually they just put a little plastic cup over it and used stickers to sort of tape it shut. Because despite the fact that their menu indicates you can order either a dessert trio with mini versions of 3 of the desserts or order any of those desserts or a few others individually apparently those that are part of the trio are only available as mini versions even if purchased individually. Overall it was a very frustrating and disappointing meal. The only reason wed even consider going back there is because even when luke warm the food is still tasty and theyre one of the few restaurants that is very conscientious about food allergies.

I had no idea this place was even here until I drove by the other day and happened to be looking left. Its kind of hidden, on that little road that connects Wegmans to Beulah St. Since I parked in the lot behind the place I walked past the patio on the way in. It looked very inviting, though it could use some trees or umbrellas or something to filter the sunlight a bit. Fortunately its on the east side, so by the evening the building provides some shade. It would be a good place to smoke cigars, if thats allowed. I was impressed by the décor upon walking in. The bar is huge, with ample seating on three sides. There are semi-private booths and tables throughout the rest of the dining room. Its got a nice upscale causal look as long as you dont look up. I dont know why so many restaurants like to omit a finished ceiling, instead painting the ductwork and steel girders like some architectural feature worth displaying. It just looks strange to me, like they started with the floor and ran out of money by the time they reached the ceiling. Hey, but I was here for the food and drink, not the building. They had a good beer selection on draft. My Devils Backbone was ice cold. The menu offered a lot of variety, lots of options for varied tastes and dietary concerns. The burger was great: 1/3 lb or so, nice grill marks, perfectly medium. It hit the spot. I just happened to be dining alone, grabbing a quick bite on the way home from work before my kids baseball practice, but I wouldnt hesitate to bring the whole family (four kids 4-11) to this restaurant. They offer a very generous military discount on Mondays (food and non-alcoholic drinks only), which is much appreciated. Theres not a whole lot of competition in this area off Telegraph Road. Red Hot and Blue is pretty terrible. Olympians is good, but more of a family restaurant than a bar and grill. The Greene Turtles okay, but I was much more impressed with the food at Burtons. Great food, great service. I will be back.

Ive been to Burtons several times since it opened. Each time the food is delicious!!! The atmosphere is comfortable, cool and clean. Burtons winds up being about $10-$15 dollars more a person than other area restaurants. Im happy to pay the for the service alone, the food is delicious the menu offerings are varied and plentiful. The reason Im writing this review is that Burtons is really allergy friendly they are especially good with celiac disease or gluten allergy. Im gluten sensitive so this is a big plus. I had a gluten reaction today yesterday I had a very busy day a meeting for lunch and a dinner out meant I called to verify the ingredients of something Id eaten just to be sure at both restaurants the first restaurant (which shall remain nameless) was accusatory and offended at my calling not only would they not verify the ingredients they put me on hold then hung up. Burtons however showed concern over my health answered all my questions and to check that they were informed correctly they double checked with the chef who had worked. That is above and beyond. I appreciate their diligence it really helps me sus out the culprit when I have an outbreak.

Quite simply, phenomenal food and drink...Burtons is a very welcome addition to southeastern Fairfax County. My wife and I tried Burtons about a week after their opening, putting in a 6:45 p.m. reservation, and they operated like a well-oiled machine.. One manager (didnt catch his name!) met us at the door to let us know that the outdoor patio, which we requested, wasnt ready for primetime yet...which was NO problem because the indoor decor is gorgeous yet comfortable. Aliah, our expert server, made great recommendations for us in terms of beer and entrees...the bronzed fish sandwich is HIGHLY recommended...and Justin, the other site manager, stopped by our table to ensure that our visit exceeded our expectations. And it did! Bottom line, we WILL be back in the future, bringing as many extended family, friends and neighbors as we can recruit. Burtons is outstanding!

Absolutely love this place, and heres why.... 1. Service is always on point. I usually dont put a lot of weight on service because most waitstaff (or people under the age of 30) lack basic social skills in todays world, but theyve got service down here! 2. They dont mind accommodating. In fact, its built into how the restaurant operates. Ive come to realize Im a finicky eater. I dont eat red meat or pork, I dont like avacado... blah, blah, blah, the list goes on, but these people dont mind switching things up a bit to make guests happy. 3. They make their margaritas from scratch. None of that bottled mixer business. 4. Ive never had anything I didnt like. The crab cakes benedict is on point! (I get my eggs scrambled with cheese and not poached. See no. 2) The wings are good and the street tacos are tasty! Yep, Burtons is a winner in my book.
