I recently made my second (and likely last) trip to Genghis Grill. The first time I visited on a Friday night, the place was busy but relatively clean and fast. There was a two-sided, staffed buffet of proteins, veggies, and sauces to choose for your bowl that was deposited at a grill and brought to your table later. It was fine. I was kind of looking forward to our second, last-minute trip to Genghis on a Sunday afternoon. The second trip was a bust. The host barely spoke, didnt look us in the eye, and refused to seat us anywhere other than next to the bathroom (which reeked of cleaning fluid) despite having a mostly-empty restaurant at mid-afternoon. The new e-tablet at each table seems useless--you can order drinks and apps from it, but nothing else--and the $1 games on it only serve to further distract people. (As if the big TVs in Genghis and--oh yeah--your dining companions arent enough.) The buffet wasnt staffed. The grill cooks were mostly hanging out in the back room, and they burned my food. (I didnt even know it was possible to burn tomatoes like that.) The restaurant was dirty as there were no fewer than eight dirty, unbussed tables as well as dirty napkins and other debris on the floor. Plenty of staff just hanging around on a slow afternoon but nobody bothered to clean up and, apparently, management just didnt care. The meal finished with a completely unsolicited story from the waiter about how he was waiting to grow his hair out even longer before he finally wore a hairnet at work. Yum. I expect this sort of experience from a regular fast food joint like McDonalds (which is also why I never go to regular fast food joints), but Id hoped for a little bit better from a sit-down, table-service, fast casual establishment. If nothing else, it wouldve been nice to have food that wasnt burnt.

What a great place! I have to say that the large bowl is more than enough food for one person. I ordered steak with rice and veggies, and it was outstanding. I think the sauces that you can add make all of the difference. I would have to concur with some other reviewers in that the service was a little confused. We had asked for drink re-fills from the person who delivered the prepared bowls, who apparently was not our server. He indicated that he would re-fill the drinks for everyone, but then disappeared for 15 minutes. We finally had to flag him down, and he told us that he couldnt help us with the drinks, it was only our Server who could take care of that. Needless to say we got our drinks, although somewhat late after most of us finished eating, but we did receive them! The concept involves preparing your own bowls with a selection of meat, and then adding additional vegetables and ingredients that you choose. At that point, the filled bowl is handed off to the cooks who prepare the food. I enjoyed it a lot and Im sure that we will be back again!

The team working here was obviously tired after a hard days work. Still, at 8 pm we were graciously asked to wait 5 minutes. After telling the host we would stop by the bar for a drink, he found us there to guide us to our seat. Michael explained the process and we kept running into employees who offered helpful tips to enhance our first time experience. The pre-described combination items for popular flavors was a great idea. (Cards are hanging on the wall)They add the pasta or noodles at the end so load your bowl with as much as you like but be prepared for a full meal if you mound up the food. Over all this was a good experience, $38 with a dessert and entirely a great experience of quick, lightweight fare without the feel of a sit down dinner and "mind your manners"... ;) Have fun, be cool, and eat like a Mongolian!

I enjoy Mongolian BBQ places because I can customize how I want my noodles prepared, from ingredients down to the sauces. Its like cooking it yourself, but without the hassle. This place was better than what I am accustomed to, as you can even ask to add eggs to your dish if you wish. The menu system is a little confusing, but the staff was very thorough in explaining their different sized bowls, and it is nice that they now only use the bowls for the ingredients, and you can ask for noodles or rice separate from the bowl, and not have to take up precious space.

I took my family to this location in Franconia last night (a party of ten) and was greatly disappointed. The service was terrible. The waitress was very inattentive. I had to take my own glasses up to the bar to be filled as she (the waitress) just kept walking by our table ignoring us. When the manager made his way to our table and our complaints were made to him, he only offered excuses for the poor service of his restaurant. I would think that a party of this size should get more than 3 min of attention. Wont be back

We love Gengis Grill. The service has been a little spotty on occasion, but recently its been pretty good. The food hits the table quickly and is always consistently great. Each GG seems to do it differently, but at this location its the best Ive seen; you put your own food in your own bowl (as much as you can fit) and hand it off to the cooks. 10 minutes later you receive your bowl at your table. The drinks are pretty good and the brownie dessert is excellent!

Incredible wait staff service! The manager came by to ask how our meal was, and our waiter was extremely helpful and friendly. I give it 3 stars for the food. While the Build Your Own Stir Fry is great, the menu is terrible. My girlfriend ordered one of the pre-made dishes from the kitchen, and it was soaked in too much sauce, overcooked, and mushy. The open stir fry grill was excellent though, they cooked it perfectly and it was delicious.

This is a nice place to go for lunch. You pick out your meat, spices, sauces, and vegetables, and they stir fry it all on a huge griddle, then deliver it to you on a bowl of rice, noodles, or shredded cabbage. The food is all fresh and tasty, and the number of combinations you can put together is staggering. They have a few seafood options, as well as tofu, if youre avoiding may or terrestrial livestock. All told, a nice place to go.

Not for first timers! I saw this new restaurant and said hey Ill check it out. I went in, read up on how to process my order and asked for help and was given this arrogant look and remark asking, "Youve never been here before?" This is from management staff mind you. My coworker had a similar experience. I wasnt impressed with the food, it’s pricey and it’s just too much of a hassle.
