Ive eaten at this place a few times before and its alright. Nothing to brag about but a nice place to eat. I really do like indian food and I have to say Ive had better than this place. What I would like to stress is that the food is not bad by far but if youve eaten at a lot of indian restaurants you will understand what I mean. This last time I went to this restaurant I had a Tandoori Platter. It was good. The employee that served me the meal seemed preoccupied with something else, as he was very short with his answers and offered no recommendations when prompted to by me or my party. I do have to say other than this last time the employees there are really good, friendly, and very helpful. When ive been there in the past ive told them what i have eaten in the past and they would ask me how did I like it and based on my answer they would suggest a dish for me. Something else that I didnt like was they employee that served me told me that pictures were not allowed, now I know that some restaurants do have a policy of this but from my experience it is usually the higher end restaurants that enforce this. It wasnt a big deal but when I do reviews I do like to take pictures to go along with it if im able to and usually while we sit and wait for our meal (if its not too busy), ill snap a few shots to upload. If you want to try out some indian food and you life in the kingstowne (or surrounding) area then this place isnt bad for a starter. If its the first time youve had indian food, I would recommend the Maharaju Platter. It has a mix of different meats in it and, in my opinion, is delicious.

I came here for dinner with the BF after seeing the overall 4-star rating. We ordered a variety of dishes - garlic naan, aloo gobi, chicken saag, and lentils. Both of us love Indian food and have eaten some really good Indian food in the area, so we were looking forward to trying this 4-star rated Indian restaurant. Unfortunately, the chicken saag was the only decent dish. Both the aloo gobi and lentils were flavorless. I always order aloo gobi at Indian restaurants. Jaipur in Fairfax, Bombay Club in DC, and even hole-in-the-wall Dishes of India in Alexandria were all better than this place. Honestly when I tried the aloo gobi, I almost thought we got another dish by mistake; it was so tasteless and unlike aloo gobi. The lentils were also bland. Like I said, only the chicken saag was tasty and I ended up not touching either the aloo gobi or the lentils for the rest of our dinner. A 3.5 for the chicken saag and garlic naan (only dishes that were good), a 2 for the other dishes, and a 3.8/4 for service. It was a busy night but they accommodated us fairly quickly and our server was friendly. I feel a little bad for knocking down the rating of this place which clearly a lot of folks like, but Ive definitely had much, much better Indian food in this area.

Easter Sunday lunch buffet. Pretty crowded but mine was a party of 1 so I was seated within 10 minutes. The overall decor was modern and one could tell that they have put a good amount of consideration into it. However that little partition wall they have in the middle of the space cuts the already too small space into 2 very crowded areas. Because of this parties of 12 or more may not be possible. Food layout is not the most efficient. They have the dessert area at the front of the line. Quality of the food is not the best either. The butter chicken was not as flavorful as most other places. The Tandoor chicken they have split into 2 categories: Tandoor chicken wings and white meat Tandoor chicken. Mango Lassi is a bit tart but very creamy. They put cardamom in the lassi, I was told its common practice because of the warming weather. Service is more attentive as compared to other Indian restaurants. Weekend lunch buffet cost about $13. Not a bad place at all, but if youre looking for the real flavorful cuisine of India there are other places that will do much better.

Ordered two dishes from Aditi: Chili Chicken and Balti w/chicken. From their menu: Chili Chicken: Cooked in a tangy tomato sauce with onions, ginger, green chilies and a hint of soy sauce: a classic Indo-Chinese preparation. Balti w/Chicken: Seared in a wok with tomatoes, onions, bell peppers and regional spices. No where does the menu indicate the chicken the the chili chicken would be battered and fried. We immediately pointed this out to our waiter and did not touch the dish. The waiter actually had to bring another menu over to our table to confirm our claim. The Balti chickens first ingredient listed is tomatoes. When my dish came out without any tomatoes I inquired as to their whereabouts, again the waiter brought over the menu. When he then checked it and looked at my dish, he said the tomatoes meant the tomato paste! Unbelievable! I just assumed that a dish that was falsely advertised then not touched at the table, would not be included in the check. I was wrong. What a waste of money this restaurant is.

Are you too popular? I have eaten here 5 or 6 times and must say that the food is definitly flavorful and tasty, HOWEVER, ask for a subsition and all you get is lip service, literally. on Friday, I asked if they could subsitute chicken for shrimp on a particular dish only to hear a smart mouthed waiter/manager comment "you chat change shrimp to chicken". why is this, maybe the food is pre-prepared, microwaved or frozen? I have also requested bonuses breast meat before and offered to pay additional, been told yes, but nope, didt happen. I can only hope that they get it together, other wise back to Aroma at Shirlington, where the food is good, you get what you ask for and the staff act like the customer is the important one.

I have been eating here every other day from last 1 year!! And all of a sudden they have this reservation system to get a table and after entering my name in the crapy system pushed my name to bottom!! And after every 5 mins the lady standing there comes and tells in another 5 mins your table will be ready!!! But actually its not!! We waited there for more than an hour!! Still no proper response!!! I think is it because we are being regular here they took advantage of it and thought we gonna come back!!! But we will never gonna come back!!! Youve lost a big group of your regular customers!!! I will make sure no body from our group will visit this restaurant anymore!!!

Some of the worst service I have ever received. I ordered a dessert that came with a scoop of ice-cream. When I received it, there was no ice-cream. I asked the waiter why there was no ice-cream and he immediately was defensive saying that they stopped serving ice-cream with the dessert months ago. However, their menu still says the dessert comes with ice-cream. I think they should have at least told me upfront or not been such a jerk about it. It was my first time at the restaurant and definitely my last. The server was also very slow, never visited the table and never asked how our food was.
