This is a restaurant which intends to own the title "fancy". It is not a traditional Indian restaurant. It is one of those place which charges big prices for small portions. The ambiance creates no more contentment than a regular Indian restaurant in the area charging acceptable prices. in fact I would say their attempt to appeal to the upper end of financial earners takes away from the title "Indian" and makes the environment more "Western" in feel. The music played was instrumental Western music. The food is average for the prices. I would expect larger flavor but in comparing it with less pricey restaurants I have tried in the area it comes out bottom of the pile. The staff was not particularly friendly. At my time of visit we were served by pretty boy college kid types (and I emphasize "boy") with little personality to boast of. I have never been to an Indian restaurant which does not serve Vindaloo. Well, I found one here. I love Chicken Madras. This restaurant offers Fish Madras. I asked if they could cook Chicken Madras and was refused even though other restaurants in the are accommodated me despite the dish not being on their menu. I was not impressed. It was not horrible but for the prices I expected something more than what other restaurants in the area are offering. Even if this place charged the same prices as the locals I would still rate this restaurant bottom of the list.

Been there twice and liked the food. The first time we went for dinner I had the dahi puri for appetizer and Habanero Mango Chutney Dosa (SUPER SPICY). For once, an Indian restaurant in America really had the spicy right! It was really the kind of spicy food that you would expect if eating in India. The dahi puri was equally good. The portion was just right also. I was halfway through the dosa when I could eat no more (given that I had half the appetizer as well). The next time we made it for the lunch buffet. It was good but not outstanding and thats why I knocked down a star. Pretty much the usual fare in any restaurant and they took forever to replenish buffet items and we had to keep asking for a long time before they even did it. So if you want quick service this place is not for you! Given that we were not that late into buffet (we were there almost at the start of their buffet) and still for them to take ages to replenish did not really go well.

Terrible. We called in a takeout order at 5:30 and were told it would be ready by 6:15. We arrived at 6:20 and it turns out our order was never entered. They didnt tell us though and asked us to sit as our order would be up in a minute. After waiting for 20 minutes, my husband asked when it would be ready and we were told 30 more minutes. Then it became clear the order was never entered. They ran back to the kitchen and decided to give us someone elses order and said wed be ready in 5 minutes. We waited another 10 before they came out with our food. They apologized but never offered any sort of discount or refund for having to wait until 6:50 to get our food when we ordered it at 5:30 which is what you do in the restaurant industry in this situation. We had a toddler waiting with us which made it even more frustrating. Finally after returning home with our order, we realized they didnt give us our rice. We will never go back to this restaurant again.

Overrated, spicy and expensive. Food is way too spicy. If you are the type you love spicy/hot food, this place might work for you. If you are the type who thinks spices are to be used for flavoring then for overwhelming the natural taste of grains and vegetables, you should look elsewhere. Unfortunately the Philly area has very few great vegetarian restaurants. Thirty eight bucks with taxes for food I barely enjoyed (except the idlis) will keep me out of the restaurant forever. The ambience is overrated as well - looks more like a fast job on a party hall. The vegetable tikka masala, okra was loaded with oil and grease; the naan were very artificial - something like heated frozen stuff and for such an expensive buffet, rice pudding for desert - give me a break.

Had been to a friends bday party. Though booked in advance after some miscommunication they gave us banquet hall and we had the normal buffet priced at 15 dollars but were charged whooping 800 dollars. The only extra we ordered was 4 bottles of sprite and coke. They charged us for a group of 35 people when we were hardly 15. A clean fleecing restuarant that has no clear cut policies. They have a compulsary gratiuity of 18%too. Other places usually have fixed price for banquet hall or no price when people order food from their own restuarant. These people cheat. There was no extra service nor the food was served inside the hall. I would never recommend anyone to make the same mistakes our party made. Please stay off this place

Never go to buffet menu or arrange any of your personal event at bangles .. it is total waste of money .. they never had enough food in any of their trays .. we always had to ask for more food, rotis never served, and even water.. when asked to fill the trays, they came back with totally different dish and didnt taste good at all.. no management, no courtesy .. and they kept welcoming guests even if they had no good left .. total cheating and looting .. I arranged one of my event and my guests always had to wait for food because trays were empty and some of my guests left without any food .. so embarrassing ..

If you are looking for Hyderabad Biryani, this is NOT the place to go. We liked Gobi Manchurian during our last take out so ordered 2 Gobi Manchurian as we are expecting a guest. We ordered 45 mins earlier as we wanted it hot. Surprised to see soo less quantity. Looks like one Gobi Manchurian is being split into two boxes. When I said the same and showed the box to cashier(the person available there), I was told that is the quantity they give(even after saying that it was way more during last take out). Added pics, this is not the quantity you expect for $10 each. Bad experience!!Unexpected response..

Worst Buffet Experience Ever! Not worth for the money you pay. Its not fancy ambient space but its quality and customer service that matter most. Took buffet for two. No options at all for vegeterian. Later we tried to order something from menu but they have none available except dosa. We ended up paying $17/ buffet and left empty stomach. I dont recommend this restaurant for buffet. Especially during weekend customer service is worst. It used to be very good restaurant once but not now.

Food is alright. But this is WAAAAAY too expensive. They have to reduce by atleast 50%. Silly lights and paint dont matter to me. Maybe if you are an American, but to me, a roti-sabzi at home is less than $2. And I have a comparable desi restaurant closer to my office. But even if no Tabla, I wouldnt go to this place. The only good item is idli-sambhaar which is all I eat when I go there. So pointless. Even with the fantastic sambhar mix, I will rather make it at home than pay $17!!
