PLEASE READ, and complain if you have had any similar HORRIBLE experiences. I live a block away, but I avoid this location because some of the staff are very rude. I almost always use the self checkout line. Unfortunately, the majority of the time I go in there is the same woman working at the self checkout desk. Forgive my ignorance. I dont know her exact ethnicity, but she is of some Asian decent, and has black hair cut into a Bob (probably chin length) I wish Id caught her name by now, but I havent. Every time Ive came in shes very rude and unhelpful. When I go to leave she says nothing, even though I always say " Thank you, have a good night." She doesnt say "You too" or "Thank you." She doesnt even smile. She doesnt react at all. She just gives me a dirty look. After this happening 6 or 7 times, I start to believe she definitely has a problem with me, or people in general. About a week ago I was in a hurry and had no choice but to shop at Harmons brickyard. I also needed to return a reusable bag I had bought from that location. I came in and asked this rude cashier where I could return the damaged bag, and buy a the other sturdier bag they sell, that way I could use the new bag now for shopping. I could hardly get a word out before she was directing me where to go. She definitely wasnt listening to what I was saying. Next I find the new reusable canvas bags and go to the check out line. I explain that even though I love the "freezer" bags (the reusable bags that keep things cold, they really work wonderfully in terms of keeping things cold) the straps always seem to break. So I returned the broken bag, and bought 2 new sturdier bags, and paid the difference. The cashier took my old bag and threw it away in a garbage can that was under her cashier station. She didnt give me a receipt, and when I asked for one she said it was fine, I didnt need one. She took the tags off of the bags so that other workers would know they were paid for. I then stopped by the self checkout station and let the rude cashier know that Id found the bags, exchanged and paid for them, so I could use them for shopping now. I did my shopping and went to the self checkout. After ringing up an item, the machine started acting up( as they like to do.) After waiting about 2 minutes while she just stood their glaring at me, she finally said the reason I couldnt continue with my checkout was because I hadnt paid for my bags. Oh. My....I was pretty sure this woman has severe mental damage at this point. I said, " dont you remember about 10 minutes ago?? She then made me show her the cashier that rang me up. That cashier had gone on break, but I was able to point out my old bag in the garbage can. This all happened in front of at least a dozen people. It was very embarrassing. I continued with my checkout, while she called security. I was finished, and done paying and went to leave. Security stopped me. I had to wait for the cashier that had helped me earlier. Finally she arrived. I just said do you remember me? Of course she did. So I was allowed to leave. I was to angry at the time to speak my mind. I swore Id never shop there again, but yesterday I was in a huge hurry, and knowing this was not my regular shopping time I decided it would be safe to assume the rude one was probably not working. I was wrong. Luckily no problems happened, except for the usual self checkout issues, like the computer stalling. A young seemingly sweet cashier helped me so I could finish my transaction. As I walked away, the rude one started giggling with another cashier about how I was probably paying with foodstamps. I wasnt. I paid cash, but if I was paying with foodstamps?? Is this how Harmons feels about people paying with those? The fact however is I wasnt even paying with those, so does Harmons just hate people who pay in cash?? I wouldnt consider myself to be the type that looks suspicious. Ive never been accused of stealing before. Im not sure what this womans issue is, but I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN.

We USE TO shop at Harmons Brickyard because they always had exceptional service (ie open a new lane for checkout to reduce wait time), which was far better than Smiths and Walmart. We didnt mind paying the higher prices because the food and service was top notch. However, over the last year, like many have mentioned, that quality of service has dissipated. Each trip has progressively gotten worse, which is why we now shop at Sprouts. During our last visit we had a cashier that was new, so we tried to be understanding. We quickly realized that the cashier was not cut out for the job (no ambition or promptness whatsoever). So not only did the hiring manager pick a terrible employee, but he/she clearly had not trained their employee before letting them cashier independently. If I was at Walmart I wouldnt be as upset, because at least its not 3x the price. She spilled the $10 Himalayan Salt we purchased and didnt even offer to get a replacement. Meanwhile, the managers were standing a few lanes over having relief society while we were bagging our own groceries. In regards to their pricing, they do it very deviously. All grocery stores have On-Sale offers. For example, Grocery Store A offers 10 avocados for $10 or just 1 avocado for $1.50.....this is normal. Harmons way of On-Sale items is a bit different. Harmons does their pricing so if you dont accept the bulk purchase, you basically get screwed. Example being: 10 avocados for $10 or $3 for just one. More or less if you decide to buy only 1 or 2 items, it costs nearly as much as if you were to buy the bulk sale. Having only two of us to feed the remaining food would go to waste if we bought the bulk to receive the sale. Thats why we shop at Harmons, Smiths, Sprouts, etc.....not Costco or Sams Club. Not only is food being wasted, but also our money. Nowadays groceries are one of the biggest expenses for families, so people want more bang for their buck. I understand bulk pricing and discounts, but to up-charge single items so the customer is more or less forced to purchase the larger amount is a bit conniving.

The ONLY reason I am giving 2 stars is because the employees here are amazing and sincere. The prices are a bit high. The main reason for my review however, is my pharmacy experience. So I have 2 health insurances, and I gave them both of my cards, and had been doing this for about a year. They never said a word to me, but apparently they never billed my secondary insurance and all the costs were being taken put of my fathers flex spending. I didnt notice until I was charged for a prescription and called in the next day and they have no record of my secondary insurance. I always gave them the card, so I have no idea why they would never tell me they were not billing that insurance. I asked if there was any way to re bill it and the guy told me no. So I found out that my dads account was short $200 due to their error. So I called back and asked to speak to a manager who was not available. So I asked the man I was speaking to how I could get the prescriptions re billed. In less than 2 minutes he re billed a prescription and I got an $8 difference for 1 transaction, so it was possible and I have no idea why no one did this in the first place or at least why they didnt tell me. So now I am waiting and having to deal with 2 insurance companies to get the rest of my prescriptions re billed because they were past the pharmacy time limit. I am furious about this and will NEVER use this pharmacy again. (Also, as a side note, I was given the wrong prescription for 2 months before they realized the error, so something to think about before trusting these people with your medication.)
