Best Place In UTAH! First time at Brio Tuscan Grille, my wife and I LOVED the food and service. We were given the choice of sitting in the dining room with the wait time about 45 to 55 minutes, or we could sit at the bar type seating facing the kitchen. We sat at the kitchen, and it was so much fun since it was our first time we were able to see some different plates before ordering. Surprisingly the noise level of the kitchen was no louder than the noise of the dining room; I would sit there again and would suggest it to all couples it would not be good for communication for more than two people. Also In regards to seating at the kitchen I would like to thank and hold high regards to the manager in when a party of three people came in and the hostess was going to allow them to sit at the kitchen even though there were only two available seats, so they would have to squeeze in an extra chair. The manager came and said it was not possible to place another chair there, I was so very; happy, glad, and impressed that the manager could see there was not enough room. (The party of three could have fit but it would have been crowed and uncomfortable.) We also got to talk with some of the chefs, it was nice to see that the chefs where personable and willing to go above and beyond. A suggestion I have is allow the chefs pass the food over directly to those sitting at the kitchen, because with our appetizers they were prepared right in front of us. Then our appetizers went down to the other side of the kitchen and sat under warmers for several minutes to be brought around. Also if the food was passed through from the cooking side it would not be so awkward for waiter/waitress to place the plate in front of you. I would like to mention that never have I seen or heard a kitchen run so well, the great communication and team work is reflected in the taste, appearance, and speed of receiving food. The seating at the kitchen and never felt crowed or uncomfortable even with all six seats filled. The manager attentive and came to say “Hello” and check on us, he also provide certificates for free appetizers, for the next time we came in and we did not have any problems or have anything that upset us, in fact it was great. The only thing I wish is that the price is a little less because then I could afford to go more than once every six to twelve months. But I understand making great food is not cheap, if the price going down at all affected the end results or attitudes of employees I would rather just pay the extra money, because it is so worth paying a bit more for somewhere that great. Sorry the review is jumbled but overall best Italian food I have ever had in my Life. The best restaurant I have ever been to. We ordered: Appetizer - Bruschetta Quattro Wife’s Entre - Pasta Alla Vodka with Grilled Chicken My Entry - Roasted Lamb Chops with Caesar Salad Wife’s Dessert - Chocolate Mascarpone Cheesecake My Dessert - Torta Di Cioccolata

We went here for our 5th year anniversary. Which we normally go to Tuccis for fine authentic italian food, but figured wed spend a few more dollars for some "high end italian cuisine", what a terrible mistake it was. We dressed up in a high end dress with heels and a suit n tie for the occasion. Our server forgot to bring us our bread right off the bat so 17 minutes go by and all we had was water, we ordered nice fancy alcoholic drinks n they came within 20 minutes, we finally got the bread after 23 minutes which she forgot to bring us plates, so we had to hold our pieces of bread while we buttered them, we sat outside(the waitress said they dont normally have plates outside already sitting on the table and appologized once we asked to get some plates so we could actually eat our food). We placed our order after 10 minutes of sitting, so we got our water, ordered drinks and an appetizer, drinks came at 20 mins, our bruschetta bread (tasted like pizza, had balsamic, red pepper, and mozarella) came at 25 mins. Our lobster bisque came at 30 mins (which tasted way fishy, idk if it has fish stock soup or what?, Ive never had fishy lobster bisque in my life, I joked with my wife saying it was imitation lobster and she said they would be in trouble serving imitation for $6.99 a bowl, lol), the bisque cream was good once you get over the fishy taste. Onto the lobster n shrimp pasta which was served to us 45 minutes after waiting for our main entree, the lobster pieces were actually amazing, but very little on your plate, the shrimp was plain and needed seasoning, the fettuccine was good and lack of sauce didnt complement it at all making it dry. This was our 3rd time going to Brio, we normally go to the City Creek location, but wanted to try out the Fashion Place Mall location which after a $90 bill with a $20 tip making it a complete joke for $110 meal. Do not waste your time, memories, and money at this joke of a wanna be high end italian restaurant. Very disapointed for our 5 year anniversary. The waitress forgot about us 80% of the time while other waitresses came to check on us.

This is a tough restaurant to review. Some of the food was pretty good, some of the food was not good at all. The wait was only a few minutes for a busy night. The decor is nice and the atmosphere is ok, but it was a mixed crowd of loud high school kids (school dance I assume) mixed with casual dress and more formal dress. Our waitress was helpful and friendly so at least the service gets a favorable review. The food is most important so let me review our dishes. We started with the Roasted Garlic, Spinach & Artichoke Dip which was pretty good but we would have preferred chips or soft bread instead of the crunchy flatbread. Then we had the chefs special for the night which was almond-crusted swordfish with a side of asparagus. The fish was very tasty but I picked off most of the dried almonds on top because they didnt enhance the flavor. The asparagus looked ok until I removed the decorative stack of crunchy fries (or onions... I dont remember what they were). The asparagus was charred to the point of black/brown and inedible. It literally tasted like charcoal. I asked our waitress to bring me some new asparagus which came out when I was nearly done with my meal. The new asparagus was less charred but half of them were still burnt to the point of flaking on my plate. We also had the grilled salmon which I would rate as an average salmon plate. It wasnt dry like some places but it wasnt all that flavorful either. The bottom was charred and the asparagus came from the same burned batch as the other plate. It seems the chef thinks that a BBQ-style, charred taste is a flavor people want at a semi-fancy restaurant. I can do that on my home grill so I think Ill pass on this restaurant next time.

We threw my boyfriends birthday dinner here, i originally had made the reservation online and had to change it once more to 15 people. I figured out everyone and their plus ones and it came to 25 people and when its over 15 you have to call the restaurant. This was the day before the dinner... I called and they didnt have any records of my reservation. I have two email confirmations that i had one. So he changes it and makes sure we have it and then when we get seated they have two separate tables. I was very unhappy and the host said "We originally had it as one table but someone said that you wanted two tables" and the manager came over to talk to me and told me they usually do two separate tables for big groups. Um, no. Thats ridiculous i think its a bit too pricey to not even have all of your party sitting together. So we wait about 10 mins for them to extend one of the tables as our party is coming into the restaurant and we finally get it figured out. Service was extremely slow, i do understand we had a big party but we are bringing in a lot of money and should be treated as so. We didnt even get a dessert or anytbing and no one came to sing happy birthday, not sure if they do that there but at least a dessert would have been nice for a birthday. We instead got a birthday card with a free appettizer for next time (that the waiter almost forgot to give us and was rushing to hand it to us as we were leaving) unfortunately, we wont be coming back here.
