We walked in with high hopes; the restaurant looked clean and smelled amazing. When we were presented with chips and salsa, I was a little put off by the appearance of the salsa, but gave it a shot. Im not kidding when I say it looked and tasted like ketchup. My husband ordered fish tacos and I ordered cheese enchiladas. My enchiladas were very plain, like a block of partially melted cheese and sauce devoid of flavor. The rice tasted off. My husbands fish was very dry, and he was concerned that the rice had been sitting around for a while, given its taste. We have never left behind a plate full of food at a restaurant, but we did exactly that. It took forever to get our check, and the server didnt seem bothered that we hadnt really touched our food and didnt want to take it home. We tried this place because its average rating was 4/5 stars. I DONT GET IT. It was the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at.

Yall are crazy with these good reviews. Whoever said the salsa tasted like spicy spaghetti sauce was dead on. Its terrible. Seriously the worst Mexican restaurant, if not one of the worst restaurants in general, in Utah. I just left after being served a completely raw chili relleno (batter was not cooked at all) and the fish taco I got was completely disgusting. It was basically just the bottom skin part of a random type of fillet that was likely prepped/cooked this morning. Not sure why I even attempted to taste the terrible looking petrified piece of old skin, but I assure you, it was much worse than it looked/smelled. Sent the meal back asap. WTH? With a lost appetite, I watched my husband pick at his taco salad, which was edible, but not very good.

My wife and I have been eating there for 25+ years. It is by far our favorite restaurant. Great, consistent food, fair prices and a great staff. The long waiting line attended by so many Mexican families, speaks well of their cusine. Those who complain that the food is "bland" are saying more about their own personal tastes than the restaurant. If you prefer "extra-hot" and "spicy," those can always be added. But for those of us who do not want it, once in the food, you cannot take it out. Rather, we prefer the kind of "hot" that simply enhances the excellent taste of the food, not cover it up.

I hate having to leave this review but I have been coming here since I was a little girl and over the years I have enjoyed it less and less to the point where when family comes to town and wants to go here as tradition I opt out. No spice to anything, very bland and I seemed to have tummy issues. If I decide to go again in the future and anything changes I will update this review to show. The service is good, the seating and inside are fine and the tortilla chips are yummy. Not sure if things have changed there over the years or if what I like to eat now has changed

This place had decent reviews....but not sure why anyone would go here by choice. First the salsa and chips came out. The salsa tasted like spicy pizza sauce. Then I ordered $7 queso...looked like like regurgitated green baby food. How do you even mess up queso? Its heated up cheese!!!! Then came a simple taco, rice, and beans. The ground beef was dry, rice tasted like one of those microwaved bags, and the beans must have been canned. Given the choice to go here or Taco bell, I would go to taco bell for a third of the price. Holy crap this place sucks

We went for lunch with 7 people on a Friday (at noon) and the staff were friendly and speedy. We honestly wondered if they had magic powers as the entrees were out about 3 mins after we ordered them and cooked appropriately. I had a chicken chimichanga which was pretty good. Not too greasy or overcooked. Honestly everyone liked their dish and while it was not what I would call excellent it was consistently good. Otherwise, I know its Utah but they dont even have a beer license? Who ever had an amazing Mexican dinner without a margarita? No one ever.

The rice and beans were hard and had NO flavor, the order was wrong I asked for chili Verde on my chili releno and not the red...it came with red, then the waitress brought some kind of green stuff chopped up when she realized that she had not brought out the right stuff. The girl was nice but messed up big time. This place used to be really good but not anymore. Food was not good at all but we had just drove 6 hours and were starving. Had I known this place went down hill so bad...we would have went to Cafe Rios.

EXCELLENT authentic Mexican food! I served my mission in Mexico so I know what to compare against. They have great authentic beans, Mexican rice, salsa and even music. I had the Dinner Special chile verde burrito and cheese enchilada and they were both excellent. Ive never tasted better Mexican rice. The service was excellent, the food came out very fast, and my drink was constantly full. On top of it all, the price was quite reasonable ~$10. I would recommend this place to anyone craving some great Mexican food!

I felt like the rating on this place was deceiving. I wanted to try this place put because my favorite place had a REALLY long wait. I shoulda just waited. The food here taste like del taco. Not one ounce of authenticity. My fellow hispanics, dont do it. The salsa taste like canned tomato sauce and the best thing about my meal was my dr pepper. I definitely will not give this place another shot. Personal recommendation, If you want some good food go to Lone Star Taqueria in cottonwood heights, promise its good.

[Meh]xican food. The atmosphere was nice and the service was pretty good but the food was very very meh. i ordered the fish tacos on the recommendation of the server and they were what appeared to be frozen fish sticks placed on off the shelf flour tortillas (like don Julio or something equally cheap) and drizzled with ,admittedly good, sauce. My wifes plate was equally disappointing. Basically they were the the kind of homemade tacos you might reasonably expect to make camping, only for $10 a plate.

The shittiest Mexican food? Perhaps. Ordered a bean & cheese burrito and they dont even fold up the ends - and barely any cheese. The Horchata was too thick and sweet, and the table sauce is like ketchup. I will give them props for the tortilla chips, theyre pretty thin, which I like; too bad there isnt anything good to scoop up with them. Obviously, this is just my subjective opinion, you might fall in love with their food. :)

Service was excellent, but food quality was probably the worst Ive had in awhile. The salsa, like someone else said, was like tomato sauce and the chips were like store bought tortilla chips toasted a bit. To top it off the entrees were not as raving as other people have reviewed and the prices were not cheap for what was slapped on my plate. I would not recommend going to this place if youre looking for quality Mexican.

The salsa that came with the chips tasted like straight tomatoe paste! There is nothing authentic about this place. The "queso dip", was literally sour cream with some green salsa with green chiles chopped up..it didnt even have cheese! The food at taco bell tastes better than the crap they serve here. Do yourself a favor and just drive to taco bell instead and pay half the price. -Youre welcome.
