I was a loyal customer for months because I work just across the street from this place. A few days ago I went to have dinner with a friend of mine. When we were done, the server took our credit cards and after a few minutes he came back saying that they were declined. 10 minutes later he came back to tell us that he had done everything that he could to take our payment but that our cards didnt work, he tried with three different active cards. I asked him if he knew where the closest ATM was and he started losing his patience, then he went to grab his manager and told her that I was being an as***** in Spanish thinking that I wasnt going to understand what he was saying. The manager said that there was nothing that she could do and that we needed to pay (of course, I wasnt planning on not paying or even fighting over two freaking enchiladas). I went to Walgreens to get cash back and paid them. When I came back, I told the server that I wasnt being an as***** and that he should treat customers with respect. His answer was "You knew that you had cash on you and you just wanted to make it more difficult". I just told him that had that been the case, I wouldve paid with cash. Worst customer service ever.

Our food took forever. When it arrived, I could tell just from looking at it that it wasnt going to be good. The enchilada sauce on my chile verde burrito looked dried out. I dont think they used the usual kind of anaheim chile usually used in in this dish. It tasted like jalapenos and didnt taste very good. My husband ordered the steak fajitas and said they tasted like old meat on the verge of going bad. They didnt look good to me either. The restaurant has awkward seating and weird decor. The wall I was facing is painted Barbie pink. Portions were small but I didnt really care since I didnt finish my food. This was some of the very worst mexican food Ive ever eaten in my life.

El Farol was recommended to me as the best Mexican restaurant in the city. I had heard that it was a family-run organization that was now in its third generation. I was completely and totally underwhelmed. The salsa was from a can, the chips were worse than any supermarkets house brand. The waiter was inattentive. The food, while all right, was below average, both in quality and quantity. I asked some other patrons was I in the right place and found out that, yes, this is the restaurant that the grandfather gave to his son, and his son to his daughter. If you go without any high expectations, perhaps you will not be disappointed.

My wife recommend this place Simply the worst place I have ever spent my money. All she could remember was the nachos. Which were decent but how could you f those up. Our food arrived and the theme from Psyco played in my head. My wifes beef taco was more of the fat and grease that the beef cooked in than beef. I had a chicken quesadilla it was a piece of chicken between 2 tortillas. Dont waste you money here there is much better mexican food in the valley La Puente being my favorite. Or try Blue Iguana or Red Iguana.

Not just the worst Mexican food Ive ever had, but probably the worst food Ive ever had and Ive lived in Great Britain. Everything, and I mean everything, had an oily after taste. "Bland" is the most exciting word I am able to sommon to describe the most standout flavors. The beef in the taco was not seasoned at all. The salsa barely passes as "something made from tomatos." Do yourself a favor and go to Del Taco instead. Better yet, go to La Puente for the smothered burrito. El Farol = Zero stars.

I feel really bad writing a bad review but I feel completely ripped off. This was the worst Mexican food Ive ever had. The value and quality is terrible. $40.00 for an adult and two kids during lunch time. The kids chicken was dried out chunks. The chips and salsa were terrible. Salsa tasted like tomato soup. The tortillas had a freezer taste to them and were dried out. Ive never been more disappointed with Mexican food. The staff was nice and the place was not busy, but I can see why now.

I cant understand the other reviews on this site, this place had the absolute worst mexican food I have ever tried. I went for a pretty safe and simple cheese enchilada plate and everything was horrible. Even the _beans_ were bad. It takes some kind of genius to screw up refried beans. Seriously, dont ever go here. Dont even let your enemies go here. Dont even let your enemies dogs eat leftovers from here. Stay clear.

I keep going back with a friend who loves the place. But its not the best Mexican Ive had. And sometimes the smell of bleach makes my food taste like it too. Enchiladas (cheese) are what I usually get, along with Cheese on chips to start with - totally out of my norm...but I can stomach them. The service is very nice and seating is o.k. not a cozy spot, more like a cafeteria. Prices are o.k.

Our family has been eating at El Farols for years and its now a family tradition. Their Mexican plate with hard shell chicken tacos, enchiladas & especially the sauce is great! We also love their fish tacos. Service is always good and the workers friendly. If theres ever a problem with the food they will make it right. Nice family-owned business. Whitley family

Great Food & Service. This has been a family favorite for over 25 years, we love this place not only does it have good food, but for us it has special memories we go every year for my parents birthdays. We are glad to see them still serving yummy food and great service.

The staff was very nice, though our take out order took too long. Felt this was typical Mexican food, kind of catering to gringo tastes. The food was good if you enjoy that approach (I dont). I would have given it a higher rating if the price matched the approach.

Totally overpriced for what you get. They charge for extra salsa. The owner never makes anything right if you have a problem. Quality/quantity keeps decreasing. We are not patronizing this place anymore after many years of eating here.

Shredded beef chimichanga was not good. It had a large amount of fat chunks attached to it. I love Mexican food, and I only had a couple of bites of my dish and filled up on chips instead. On the bright side, the horchata was tasty.

My family and I have been going here for years, so my review may be biased, but El Farol still has the best chile Verde in Utah! A lot has changed over the years but can still count on the verde. Always great service and prices.

Although the waitress was very nice and the place seemed very clean, the food was awful!!! my husband ordered the carnitas plate and it was just dried out chunks of pork with a tortilla. Very bland absolutely no flavor.

Not a dump. Place is very clean and service is friendly. Ordered a chimichanga enchilada style, beans were good, rice was greasy? Too much cheese and too much salt! Other then that everything 3/5*
