We went to Su Casa for a celebration, and because we had a coupon. Even with the coupon, we overpaid. The prices were very reasonable, but the food was the worst Mexican food Ive ever had. I love Mexican food, and it doesnt matter if its Mexican American tasting, or very authentic. I left Su Casa very disappointed. I ordered a combo that came with chile verde, a cheese encilada, bean tostada, and rice and black beans. The beans and rice were both bland, and the tostada shell was soaked in grease. The enchilada had a bitter taste. The best part was the chile verde, but still the worst I have ever had. I did like the house salad that came with it, but I should have asked for dressing on the side, because it was soaked in dressing. I will never go here again, and I would advise others to not go and waste their calories here.

I took my wife to this mexican restraunt to celebrate her getting out of school. After eating at the restraunt there wasnt much to celebrate. The food was the worst mexican food I have ever eaten, and I am a huge mexican food lover. I had the Chile Verde salad, and it was disgusting. The Chile Verde was over seasoned, and it didnt come with alot of salad. The complimentary chips and salsa was also disappointing. They do have a unique salsa, that does resemble salsa mixed with ketchup. I would also catogorize the salsa as being the worst I have ever had. Long story short, it has been the only restraunt where I have walked away hungry. Save your money, and go to taco bell. Or if you want the best, go to blue iguana.

I have lived in SLC for five years and finally went to Su Casa for lunch today. Started out being sat in cramped corner table. Salsa is like ketchup with NO spice at all. Chips are not fresh. I had the veggie burrito smothered. Enchilada sauce was bland with very little cheese. Inside burrito was mostly their awful rice. Rice seems to be pre-made or boxed Spanish rice from the store. My partner had the cheese quesadilla which was not bad, but how can you mess up a flour tortilla with melted cheese inside. Bottom line dont waste your time or money. Luckily we had a buy one get one free coupon that made us feel better about paying for the food.

Average tex mex. If youre in the mood for bland not-quite-mexican food this is a good place to go. I wish they would have some more courage to introduce actual Mexican spices and heat - this place has so much potential. I think theyre trying to appeal to the white suburban commuter crowds and they fall short on what people downtown actually want - the real thing. I still like to go here, on occasion, for their cheap lunch special - but only when Im feeling nostalgic for not-actually-mexican-food.

Horrible food, and service to match. Dont get the cheese enchiladas, it was essentially a plate of microwaved cheese. It took five minutes of chewing to be able to break down each rubbery bite. The chicken chimichanga was almost as bad. You could tell everything was premade and just heated up. Our server spoke all of 20 words to us the whole time we were there and seemed super rushed even though the restaurant was almost completely empty.

As we arrived we wanted to sit outside so we did. We waited and waited then a waitress came out to other tables and ignored our table. She didnt know whos tabe it was. We waited more nobody could figure it out. I went inside they said your server will be out. So 20 mins later someone came out. When she was bring out stuff out she like throw it down. So all in all at the end was ok but never going back!

Oh my gosh! This place was amazing! We were seated immediately and they brought us chips and salsa. The chips were warm and the flavor of the salsa was perfect! It isnt chunky but it is so good! Then they got the food to us before we finished the chips! The food is fantastic and you get your moneys worth in the amount of food you get. Coming back here all the time!

Interesting, but not terrible. The tamales were good, but the rice and beans were just so so. It is simple and if you like that sort of thing then it will suit you just fine. I would have liked a frozen drink, but the only specialty drink they had was horchata. My 4yr old picky son would love it for its simplicity. The salsa is more like ketchup.

I love Su Casa! I have been going there for a while now and it has got to be one of the best deals for Mexican food out there. The fish tacos are definitely my favorite with the Chile Verde Chimichanga being a close second. The food comes out fast, the servers are friendly and its nice to be able to eat on the patio in the Summer.

Here on a Saturday afternoon and theres tumbleweeds blowing through. Nobody is here. Not even the waitstaff. We waited for 25 minutes to get our freaking check so we could leave this horrible restaurant. Food was alright. Generous chips and salsa. Trump needs to build his wall around this Mexican restaurant. 2/5 stars.

Service is great, nice presentation, cozy atmosphere and decorated well. Food, on the other hand, is nothing special. Chips served with a "spicy ketchup" - one step away from being considered cocktail sauce. My burrito stuffed with boiled, bland chicken; not to mention the river of water that followed my first cut.

I wish I could give no stars. The reviews about the terrible food are all correct. Chips are worse than store bought, salsa is ketchup, and the food is inedible. WHO eats here? Students? Youd be better off going to Taco Bell. Dont even waste a single penny or minute here, it was too bad to be believed.

A local favorite with authentic Mexican food. Despite being inexpensive and physically small Su Casa plies its homey-ness into renown the high-powered business and political crowd from Downtown. I recommend returning to try everything, but especial favorites include the tamales, the enchiladas, and the flan.

My wife and I have been dining there for 40 years and its always been the same great food and menu. Sure, if you want great traditional Mexican food then go to Houston, San Diego or Tucson, but if you want the best Mexican food in Utah look no further than Su Casas.

Cheap Mexican food, easy for a quick meal. We did have a thick hair in one of our meals on our last visit, but didnt see it until the food was almost gone, so we opted not to say anything to the staff. Probably wont return due to that incident.
