If I could give no stars, I would! It takes a lot for me to give a bad review, but we will never eat here again. The only good thing was the hostess seating us as soon as we walked in. We sat for 15 minutes before anyone asked if we would like chips, salsa, and water. We waited another 5 minutes for the chips to be brought to the table. 5 minutes later, we received our water. After nearly 30 minutes, our order was finally taken. 5 minutes later, we were served the most bland flavorless food we have ever eaten. During the nearly 30 minutes we waited to order, multiple people cleaned and organized tables right next to us. There was a total of 5 other tables with customers and 3 servers working. The service was horrible and the food was just as bad. This is the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. I would welcome the owner(s) to contact me for some open and honest feedback!

I felt the food was decent (in a good way). I was impressed with the food portion, I was left perfectly satisfied, not stuffed, and not still hungry, but at least I had enough room for desert! I feel their prices are a bit high for the quality. Majority of the reviews here are accurate. The food wasnt "amazing", but it also wasnt bad. Then again, what I ordered may have just been generic: taco and two cheese enchiladas. I will say the enchiladas were THE BEST Ive had so far after trying multiple restaurants here in the valley. The beans were extremely tasteless, though. I would have loved some cheese or something over them. Rice was good. I was also very impressed with how FAST we got our food! We waited maybe 5 minutes max! All and all, Id probably return here to eat in the future. :) Maybe try something new next time.

Let me preface this with my wife is Mexican so were pretty particular about our Mexican food. Now lets hit the good parts. We were promptly greeted, even though the host was busy. Our server was friendly, knew the menu, and fast. The dining area is comfortable and clean. The salsa is pretty good, and the pork is lean and tender. Now for the bad. The Chile Verde tastes like cumin and salt. The rice tastes like white rice with chicken bullion. The Relleno was bland. The ground beef in the tacos tastes like bad spaghetti meat. The enchilada was also bland. The beans are passable but nothing to write home about. The reviewers that say this is better than red iguana dont know Mexican food. This place isnt even in the same league with red iguana. We will not be returning.

Good lord. HOW do they stay in business?! This is highway robbery. Massive prices for mediocre food. CAFE RIO DOES BETTER and they charge half the price. Better yet, get Betos. Its along the same lines in quality, but cheap as all hell. My fiancé and I walked in and dinner for two ended up being $60. SIXTY. We didnt even get anything fancy. A drink, a burrito, a fajita, and fried ice cream - which isnt even fried ice cream. ITS A SINGLE SCOOP OF ICECREAM ROLLED IN CORN FLAKES. I mean really. If you wont actually fry your fried ice cream, at least try to make it LOOK like you have. Waitress was snippy and cut me off mid order to holler at someone in the back. Always seemed angry we were just eating there. DO NOT GO. Save your money for DECENT Mexican food.

The service was unpredictable. They came quickly, got our order out to us quickly, refilled our drinks quickly, but our waiter suddenly disappeared. We kept looking around for him to order our fried ice cream dessert, but went went a good while without seeing him. Probably 80% of our entire time here was during that time between meal and dessert, all the while our beverages had dried out. The price was a little steep for what I consider to be standard Mexican fare, so if youre in the mood for simple burritos, fajitas, chimichangas, or whatever, you can get the same taste elsewhere for less.

La Costa is a Mexican restaurant for people who want to "say" they eat Mexican food, but dont really want to "eat" Mexican food. The service was great and the place was clean, but the food is just bland. The enchilada sauce must come from a big generic can labeled "enchilada sauce". The rice was basically plain rice with an orange color. Unfortunately, there is just zero effort to do anything to make their food tasty, or even come close to Mexican food. With all of the great reviews this place has, Im starting to think that most people in Utah must LOVE food that has little to no "sabor".

I was really not impressed with this place at all. It got pretty good reviews so I was really excited to try it out, but the only good thing was the chips, salsa, and beans. The enchilada sauce was gross, the tamales werent good, and the rice was bland. They messed up my order and the waiter didnt seem to speak enough English to understand what I originally ordered and what the problem was with the order they brought me. To be fair though he did apologize later and brought me free ice cream, but I will never go there again because the food is just not good.

Mexican is my favorite type of food. I have been to Mexican restaurants all over Texas, California even Mexico and La Costa is my favorite. The best is the salsa. Every time my husband and I go, which is about once a week, we always get extra salsa. Laticia and the other guy that bring by your chips and salsa and top off your water are great. I try to tip them because they are so attentive. They make us feel like VIP. Try the burrito guadalajara or the fajitas. Mmmmm. It is a little bit expensive but you get what you pay for.

Way too pricey for what you get. Ordered 2 (very small) beef tacos which literally was only beef inside hard shell tacos with tomatoes, lettuce, beans and rice on the side for $15 (tax & 21% tip included. $10.50 prior to tax & tip). Charging an additional $.75 for sour cream or guacamole on an entre that is overpriced is absurd. I couldve bought 15 street tacos and fed a family of 7 for the same price. Also, the server didnt warn me for how extremely hot the plate was so I burned my hand accidentally.

The food is excellent and menu prices are extremely fair. Portions are too big for me however thats not a bad thing. The waiter service from my last 4 visits... 3 of 4 were poor. The female waitress was excellent, the male wait staff... Slow and not focused. They did complain they were too busy. Im curious why they seem to always be short waiters/waitresses? The kitchen service is super fast and always delicious! Final assessment... Try being seated in the waitresses section.

Absolutely did not like it. I ordered to go and the quesadilla was extremely small for 11.00. They didnt even put guac or sourcream, on the order, they put it on the side. Not worth the money. Trying to contact the management for a refund. Steak was good, but again, the service received leaves me with a "Not going back there attitude." Reading through these reviews makes me wonder if these people even eat REAL mexican food, maybe they just like mexican and eat it.
