After driving by this place more than a few times, a Google alert that traffic sucked made me stop and wait it out. So glad I did! With over 30 beers on tap, I had a rough time deciding what to drink. Mike the owner helped out. He knew exactly what to help me order when my fave beer wasnt on the menu. His staff was friendly and helpful and never left me waiting for a new beer or failing to discard used glasses. I was able to chat with him and found they have a great wi-fi connection and enough outlets around to ensure those that need them have them available. The bar top was spacious, tons of big top tables and bench booths for those that need either. If youre not sure what to drink, their 3 big screens show the menu in real time, when theyre out...you can tell. Their website also offers their tap list in the event you cant see the screens and they offer easy make your own flight fill in sheets. Bring your own growler to fill or purchase on site! The prices are the best Ive seen in DFW on their selection. Overall I give this place a 5 star review and an A1 service call. They dont have a kitchen, but just ask what you can order in and they have the details handy! Take a sec to chat with the staff! The Colony was lacking in a great beer bar...the Thirsty Growler just filled that gap.

Wow....in reading the reviews of this place, it looks like Taps and Caps regulars must be up to their usual petty crap by saying nothing but negative things. Prime example...when Nathan Stone writes that they are not passionate about their beer, and yet his only comment about his 5 star experience is that they have 50 beers on tap. Ummmm....maybe Nathan needs to use other peoples hands and toes to help him count that there are 50 taps there too. Now lets get to the difference in people as I frequented Taps and Caps quite often and actually knew at least one employee, and he was the only one that would actually have a conversation. Oh, but thats right, they are sooo passionate about their beer that they are just so busy selling, selling, selling. Business is about making contact with people and thats what Thirsty Growler does. Yes, I am a diehard that will go there only. And its the people that work there that make it stand head and shoulders above Taps and Caps. There isnt even a comparison. So next time you want to determine if the place is worth it, check it out and see.....and read what someone reviews and how they review it before making a decision!

I had driven by Thirsty Growler a few times before gathering some friends together to head in after I saw they had a beer I wanted to try, that Id been having trouble finding on tap elsewhere. Really good selection of craft beers, and well-priced. Its also pretty nice on the website that you can see how much beer is left in the keg, as well as pricing, because some places dont display that info on their website. I also like that Thirsty Growler has their own badge on Untappd, because I love Untappd and go on that as frequently as I do instagram, and other social networks. It was a Saturday night when I went in, and not particularly busy which was nice. Prompt service, and lots of options. Ill probably be back soon for a growler fill.

Best place around to get your growler filled or buy a new one cheap. This isnt just a filling station, lots of seating and you can enjoy a flight or just a glass of your favorite beer. They have some wine and root beer too. One thing that sets them apart is you can get a free shot of any of the 50 beers to taste before you buy. Love the live tap list online. The owner and staff REALLY know beer. They are very personable and fun. Nice cool place to hang out on an afternoon our or evening. Ive seen a lot of folks getting growlers filled that came from nearby places, that should tell you something right there. You can bring in your own food and kids are welcome, though you dont see too many.

Great atmosphere with close to 50 various brews on tap. The staff is knowledgeable and patient if you are having trouble deciding, they will even make recommendations off of your taste preferences. Prices are very good for the area as well. I even met the owner, very nice man and you can tell he is proud of his business and loves introducing craft brewing to the local community! Its bring your own food, so be aware of that. But there are plenty of good places to order from or bring in near by. Many more happy hours to be had here for sure!

Great place to sample up to 50 beers as well as get your Growler filled! Check out their website for current leg levels! Lord Nut Peanuts and Van Cleave Craft beef Jerky for snacks, but you can BYOF. LOTS of beer, and a great spread of variety (local, small national, and some Intl). Constant rotation of kegs, so theres always something new to try. Owner is awesome. Service is awesome. Lots of seating, very rustic/modern with woods mixed with metal. Good music (90s-00s Alt.). Go support local business!

Ive been in Dallas for a few years and Ive become jaded as to the demeanor of service down here. Long story short... Dallas service sucks. But I came here and was reminded what good service was after nearly 4 years. Ive never been to a place with a more friendly staff... This place not only has the best service but also the best beer selection Ive seen since I went to The Flying Saucer. At a 1/4 of the availability of selections, Id say the quality of this selection far exceeds that of the saucer.

Sat right in front of the bar keep. He thought it was more important to pick up the flights from the person next to me and wash them instead of acknowledging I was there. No "Ill be with you in a second" or "what can I get you?". Nope, just washed the flights in front of me like I wasnt there. It turned out okay because I went to Taps and Caps down the road. There I was treated as someone who wanted to spend money in their establishment.

The owner has really built something special here. He and his staff are very knowledgeable about beer, mead and cider. A hidden gem that you really should experience. Also, the place is very clean and well maintained. Draft lines cleaned between every keg so the flavors from the previous beer doesnt mix with the new one. Check these guys out. Bonus: when I was there, they had B. Nektars Apple Pi Mead on a Nitro tap. It was delicious!

I enjoyed the cidars & meads while my sister enjoyed the vast variety of beer. We even were able to sample the new popcorn they are serving from Doc Popcorn (DELICIOUS COMBINATIONS). The whole experience was just what I needed after a stressful day. Mike and ....well...lets just call him "Darlin" were knowledgable & attentive to our finicky drinking selection.

I was not expecting to be able to get one of my favorite beers in a growler here and the prices unbeatable!
