I dont know what it is with desi restaurants. When they open up their food is great but over time they start slacking. Ive been coming here for about 2 years, most of the time the food was alright. It was exceptional but it wasnt bad either. The palak paneer is really good. The tandoori chicken is ok, often times its dry. His kebab rolls were really good but the past few times Ive gone Ive been nothing but disappointed. Either the roll was cold and or the pieces of chicken are small hard pieces. Ive had to have them replace the roll on several occasions. I decided never to get them again. The biryani to go has its moments. On some days its alright and others very greasy and the 4 pieces that comes with it are not chicken but rather a cornish hen based on the size of the pieces. No wonder they sell it for $3.99. Aside from the food you have the usual desi environment. Tables are sticky, there are always flies which are annoying as hell and the place always smells funny. I felt compelled to write not because I have anything against the owner but just fed up of always being disappointed when eating at desi places! I think their catering service is much better because I always see people placing orders. My advice is to always double check your food when you are doing take out. There is nothing more disappointing when you get home and ready to chow down and realize they gave you the wrong order, lesser amounts or just straight up uncooked food!

Food is excellent, but the staff is even more wonderful, they had some issues but its a lot better nowadays under a new very friendly Manager. My favourite is the wait staff, especially Nizam, he is always smiling, welcoming and goes out of his way to make his customers happy, dont let him go. The Nihari is to die for, the nans are all excellent, the bbq chicken does not have the proper marination and comes out dry and tasteless, the channa is the best as is the daal, oh my goodness, do they know how to make them both. Biryani is ok, but the Pilao is much better. I love their samosas, the karahi is also excellent, both the chicken and the goat, although I would prefer more pieces of chicken, the Kababs are excellent but sometimes come out a little dry, especially the beef, I like my beef kababs a little underdone and juicy and the chicken a bit overdone and brown, just tell them and theyll do it. Other than that when the Kheer is fresh, it is very thick and pure, I do love it. They could do a better job of cleaning up the place and brightening up the ambiance and this place could definitely be a winner as they got the food part right, just dont like to sit there and usually go for take out. Overall really good value for your money if all you care for is food, which I do. If I want ambiance, Ill go somewhere else. If I want good hot food, this is the place.

I am the owners son and I just want to say we are trying to make our service better and making many improvements as time goes bye. All the complaints about the food Im am terribley sorry. As of now we have change management and some of the staff . And we are also making changes to the menus. We are trying to make our Coustomers feel like they are at home and in a good environment if you have any complaints or issues please dont hesitate to let us know thank you for your time , And just to remove any confusion The BBQ King in Richardson is not related to us while they might be using a logo like ours but they have a different name so the only official branches we have are these (Texas King Zabiha Halal Meat Market [in Richardson]) (Texas king Irving ) (Texas king plano we have 2 in plano one on spring creek and quiet and this one on legacy and alma )

Food is excellent when made fresh, but they dont have it fresh always and that is the problem, their food is stored in a cooler for days...place needs more cleanliness and better ambiance, it is a shame that Desis open a restaurant only to make money and wont spend a dime on making their customers comfortable and in a clean environment, personally I think this place should close down but with a little work it could be a winner believe it or not, the staff is very friendly. I am giving this place 3 stars because of the food which is great when it is cooked fresh and for the friendly service but it could definitely be improved. Ask the staff what is fresh, they are honest, the owner is not very ethical and I am really upset about these people bringing a bad name to the entire community with their lack of skills to run a proper restaurant.

Please shut this place down. Their service is horrible. I would only get Naan from them, and for the last 2 times, Ive placed the orders 40+ minutes ahead of time, knowing desi restaurants and their time management skills. Anyhow, both times I was told they are not ready because they were busy. Well, if it takes them an hour to make 10 naan, I can only imagine whats it like for people who are dumb enough to keep going there. Theres no shortage of Asian cousine in Plano, Im taking my business elsewhere and not ever again will I go there again. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Let me be very clear, you sitting down to eat is not b

Avoid this place at all costs please! I ordered 1 Beef Sheekh fry, Aloo palak, Nihari and Naans today, to go. I returned home to find out that they had switched the Beef Sheekh fry with mixed vegetables and the Aloo Palak was spoiled (smelled like the dumpster on custer and ridgeview rd.) I called to complain immediately and their knee jerk reaction was that this could not have happened and they doubted whether I was telling the Truth. On top of that the Nihari tasted awful and seemed like it was a super spicy version of beef curry - not really Nihari. These guys need to be reported to the health inspectors, BBB and shut down, period.

This place is just OK, like the other reviewer expressed "The Biryani has its moments" So does their price, their quality and quantity. It fluctuates. I have been changed 8.99 or 9.99. For the same (goat or lamb) palaow. I have received half box and sometimes a full box. This place lacks consistency Its a hit or miss. Expect to sometimes pay more and sometimes pay less. Also get accustomed to sometimes eating full stomach and sometimes eating half stomach. **All we ask is to improve on the issues mentioned above. You food was excellent when I purchased it the first time and things have just gone down hill **

Last week on Saturday 2/27/16 I picked up my catering order from the Texas King located at Alma & Legacy and the owner is Hamid Abbas. I have no words to say “Thank You”. The foods were all fresh and very delicious. The quantity of the foods was very generous. My guests liked the delicious food and enjoyed, Beef Biryani, Beef Kabab, Chicken Tikka, Butter chicken, Mix vegetables, Kheer and Naan. I admire him for on time preparation of my catering. Hamid Abbas Thank you and keep the same service for every client. Shah A Siddiqui
