I am not sure what all the people are raving about, I visited Mumtaz restaurant Plano in December 2016 on a Wednesday evening. The food was very bland. The service was extremely poor. I dont understand why the management do not take the time to teach their staff some basic courtesy. Both Lady and the Guy did not even bother to smile to make us feel welcome. The handling of silverware, the pitcher in which the water was brought everything was very lethargic and careless. Trust I am a huge Indian food fanatic and have been to most Indian restaurants in Dallas and this ranks one of the lowest. Stay away if you can.

A good solid North Indian buffet. This is a second location of Mumtaz (the first is in Richardson). This location is a bit smaller and the building does not have the same charm/ambiance as the original, but the food is reliably good. The staff are nice and the service is good. Regular buffet items (about half of the items vary day to day): - Saag paneer - Chicken tikka masala - Goat curry - Tandoori chicken - Naan (bread) While they serve buffet for every meal, they do have an a la carte menu. There is a $6.99 buffet special on Tuesdays. They are BYOB.

Please save your time and money. One of the places where i will remember where i had worst food. Food was tasteless, old , may be atleast 4 or 5 days old that has been reheated again and again. chicken pieces were not even cooked properly. This place does not qualify even to be called a restaurant. And if you are looking to visit this place, read what folks write on their review and also understand that some of the reviewers are qualified enough to review indian food, which i am

I did not know what to expect. It is definitely a hidden gem as far as Indian Buffett food. I was shocked they offer buffet at $10. For lunch AND dinner in the evening too! Most places cut out buffet at night, But Mumatz does both Buffett or you can order from reasonable wide variety off menu if you would rather place an order than eat from Buffett. Amazing! So glad we drove all the way from Garland to Mumatz even though its in Plano off Parker (near Bavarian grill)

There service was very bad. They gave advertisement in magazine that was $7.99 in every Tuesday dinner buffet in Plano location. But they charged $9.99. When I told to the owner and manager of the restaurant, I will not come your restaurant again then he answered its ok. And didnt say sorry for single time. He was so rude and dont care about loosing any customer. There customer service was really very bad and food was not also very good.

Served butter chicken instead of chicken Tikka masala, that too raw.... The gravies were too watery, veggie dishes had little to no taste ( kofta n panner masala) Butter naan had no butter in it. The food was not really cheap 56 USD for 4 ppl, we kinda lost appetite after tasting the food.... :P Staff were humble but food matters the most. Visit only if looking for pricy undercooked, bland Indian food.

We recently ordered catering for 35 adult people dinner. The amount delivered was good for no more 25 person at the max. I did not find the owner receptive to customer feedback. I will not recommend it.! Bottom line if you want to feed 30 guests you better order for atleast 50 or more. In all fairness I must admit the food itself was rather tasty..especially Chicken Tikka (made with breast meat)

Awsome !! The food is so delicious and moreover at such a low price. Buffet is so good with many different items both veg, non veg and desserts. Everything was best and as expected. Never thought I would get such a nice food to eat after coming to US. The staff was very polite and friendly. Overall service was good. One should definitely go and try once.

We stopped at this beautiful restaurant for a late lunch. We were greeted right away, although had to give our names prior to being seated in a mostly empty place. Our server promptly took our drink order - the restaurant has a large wine list. We started with the Duck Wing Lollipops appetizer, which was excellent.

Ive had most indian places in the Richardson/Addison/Plano locations and this tops them all. Quick, inexpensive, and most of all - HIGH quality food. I ate there yesterday for the first time and am blown away. Its a 20 min drive for me but I will be making it frequently in the future.

Very good deal. Dont expect the varity you will see at a Chinese buffet in a place 5 times the size. This is a standard Inidan buffet and tasty. Salad, two soups, variety of vegetable dishes, chicken 4-5 ways plus other meats, 2 desserts. Very good value.

I ordered takeout and it arrived via Grub Hub about 40 minutes later. I ordered Chicken Vindaloo and Chicken Tikka Masala. Both were way too spicy. I like a bit of spice, but this was inedible. First and last time to order from there. Never again.

I order delivery from this place and it was amazing! I ordered the veggie samosa, naan and chicken tikka masala. Spices were perfect and it was the best naan Ive ever had. Havent ever been in person but definitely worth it for delivery/takeout.

this is one of my favorite Indian food buffets. They always have a great selection and its hot and fresh. I just wish the food was spicier on the buffet but I understand they have to tone it down for us Americans.

This is my favorite Indian place. The evening dinner Indian buffet is the only one I know of around. Best chicken tikka masala. Great staff as well. I go here a couple times a month.

Dont bother wirh India Palace, Mumtaz is THE Indian restaurant for the DFW area. They have a scrumptious, fresh buffet, but then any item on their menu is a good choice. Check them out!

High quality Lunch/Dinner buffet under $10 every day of week. Clean dining room, great staff, and amazing northern India food. I have been multiple times, and have yet to be let down.

Some of these reviews have to be fake. This place was not good at all. Not great service, buffet was ridiculously small. There are much better places in the area. Visited 6 months ago.

Great food for a great price. It is a bit on the milder side and generally not as spiced up as most other Indian food I have had but a good flavor is still there to be enjoyed.

Cheap buffet but you get what you pay for. First time I went, I was given great service by a young man. My second visit was not as good. Some waiters have attitude issues.

Worst food. We had the catering order for Dal makhani and Gobi Manchurian (dry). The food quality was poor and could not even compare with what we normally cook at home.

Always awesome buffet. Many vegetarian options. Everything is good. Favorites: samosas, chicken Tikka masala, biryani, rice pudding and naan. (Get the mango lassi!)
