We stayed in the European room, their smallest room; So small, that the restroom is smaller then most regular closest. The hotel had a weird odor in the hallways, and the whole hotel was extremely dusty to the point of getting a rash and hives. At first the front desk workers are very polite, but if you have any complaints they do not accept responsibility and make rude remarks to you when you are complaining. The maid service is the absolute worst that I have ever had to deal with. First of all they do not change your sheets; they just remake your bad, and they do not clean up any trash left in your room. In the bathroom, they will only replace the towels(hopefully) and the bar soap; they will not replenish the shampoo, conditioner, or body wash if any is left; they will in fact leave said items exactly where you leave them. They empty the only trash can in the room; also in the bathroom, yet they will not replace the bag, they will just leave an bag on top of the can. And worst of all, do not leave any precocious items in your room. Supposedly the maid will move items when cleaning; we however had two specific adult novelty items underneath our clothing; on top of our luggage, and both items were not only moved they appeared to have been used and then cleaned and placed into a plastic bag that was not appart of our luggage. The bag was then placed under our luggage to where when we returned we thought they had been stolen; our adult items total $260 which costs more than the room. When we went to the front desk to complain the head manager over the entire hotel acted as though there was no problem and that we were disgusting for having said items. The manager also did not specify her title when we spoke to her, and stated that if nothing was stolen that there was no problem. When we called the following Monday, we received the same treatment as that night. We were even called disgusting by the front desk manager for having adult novelty items with us in our things. If you expect to be treated with any respect from the hotel staff do not complain about anything to them, otherwise you will not enjoy your stay. Many other guests that same weekend had similar complaints in their rooms the police were even called for one guest. All guests checked out early. You can expect a 5 star rating for a Super Motel 8 compared to this establishment. BTW, most reviews our written by the hotel staff bellow, if you noticed there our a ton of reviews written by "A Zagat User" but few actual written by "google users".

This is the first time Ive ever placed a review on a hotel, but based on some of the other good reviews on Google, I felt like I should try and set the record straight. Let me start by saying that I sure wished that I would have liked this hotel; it has a lot going for it regarding location, history, brewpub, etc. BUT I must say that the room my wife and I stayed in was WAY overpriced ($139) for what we got. The room was EXTREMELY small. They apparently have a "European" room that is smaller, but I would have a hard time imagining it smaller than the room we were in. When I booked the room (a month in advance), I had attempted to reserve a King room, but all I could reserve was a double, so I sent a message during the booking process to move us to a King room if one came available. I received an e-mail response that they would put us on the "waiting list," but the front desk staff was unaware of this request nor interested in taking the extra effort to check for a King room when we checked in; simply saying "the hotel is very full this weekend." I must say that I find it a bit unbelievable that they had no King rooms open up in the entire month before our stay, but maybe so... The shower pressure was horrible, and it wasnt because of low water pressure; there was PLENTY of water pressure when the flow was directed to the tub faucet. I guess theyre using some sort of "low flow" shower head - total CRAP! NOT a refreshing shower at ALL. There were mold stains in the tile grout surrounding the tub. The caulking everywhere in the bathroom looked like a 3 year old had done it. The vinyl coating that was used to re-cover the tub bubbled and "popped" when walked on; it felt like I was standing on Bubble-Wrap. During breakfast, there were several items that were either empty or running very low; however the young staff that was gathered around the front desk seemed more interested in talking rather than keeping the items stocked. Me, and I noticed several other people, had to go up to their little chat-session and ask for items to be replenished. In summary, the room was "dingy" and a poor value. The staff was friendly, but not proactive. The room we stayed in was worth MAYBE $80 a night, NOT $139.

Fantastic pub fare. Had the German nachos with their house made bratwurst, saurkraut and beer cheese for appetizers. Absolutely awesome. My wife ordered the Rueben sandwich and I ordered the Faust Wellington. Everything was amazing including their craft beers. Normally when out at craft breweries when I order a beer flight, I might like one or two but at Faust Brewing, every single selection was great. There happened to be a representative for the brewery there, Chris Werk. Great, knowledgeable guy who turned us on to one of their seasonal brews, mocha cherry I believe. Loved it so much I bought a growler to go of it and my wife bought a growler of Altered States, another Faust beer. Cant brag enough on the restaurant food quality and crew but if you enter through the front hotel entrance, you might not get a warm greeting from the two older ladies at the hotel counter. My wife and I walked around for a few minutes in the lobby not knowing exactly where the pub was and neither woman acknowledged our presence at all. If I were managing the hotel staff wed have a meeting on acknowledging and greeting potential guests when they enter the hotel. We almost left after experincing the two cheery gals up front but sooo glad we stuck it out and made it to the rear of the hotel where the restaurant was. Also wanted to mention our waitress Brookelynn. Super nice and helpful cute young gal. Between Brookelynn and Chris, they made it a fantastic experience and guaranteed that wed be back. Going to take my parents next week. Give this hidden gem a try, its absolutely awesome!

What To Order: Craft Beers & Cochinitas Ive visited the Faust Brewery a few times now. The Faust carries a good selection of Texas made Whiskeys, Vodkas, & Craft Beers. The kitchen selection is greatly varied as well, with items that cross many ethnic cuisines. (Bratwurst Nachos, Shrimp Tacos, Mediterranean appetizers, Soulvaki Skewers, German Potato Chips, Reuben Sandwiches, & Hamburgers) just to list a few. On my first visit to the Faust Brewery I was totally amazed first by its hidden basement location and then again by the amazing food I was served. Sadly the items that I was amazed by were discontinued on the menu. I had some amazing lettuce wraps and other items that had great flavor. Now the item that is the next best thing is the Cochinitas. The Faust has daily drink specials, you can call ahead to find out what specials are coming up. They usually have about 4 of their own beers on tap as well as a dozen others in addition to the bottled selections. The bar is located a few steps beneath ground level and can be accessed from both inside the hotel, and from the parking lot on the backside of the hotel. The interior has an old fashioned pub look and feeling to it, with wood walls and beams. Dining and drinking here is a unique experience that I havent really had elsewhere. Staff is friendly, and service is good. Its a really cool place to sit back and grab a beer, or hang out with some friends. If your in the area check it out.
