We usually have to get our meals to go, but they are the best! I normally hate to bring home Chinese food because it is so sloppy once you get it home, but they pack it all so well and it is so fresh when you pick it up, you feel as if they just cooked it in your own kitchen when you take it out of the carry out. The absolute best Egg Foo Young we have ever had anywhere. There gravy beats any...and all of the food tastes fresh and they will fix anything anyway you like. They remember you and your order after the first or second time you come in and the people are always incredibly friendly. The portions are huge and you could really feed at least three hungry people on two dishes of food, but why not take leftovers? We eat them for breakfast the next day. Best food in New Braunfels, and friendliest people. The guy who runs the front of the house works so hard but always seems to save a smile for everyone!

My friend and I went to eat lunch here today like we have before. The service has always been great but we were so unsatisfied with our waitress. She was rude from the get go with a bad attitude. I asked for one extra wonton soup and she brings out 2 not a big deal. When I told her it was just one she rolled her eyes and took the soup very rudely. We then said she didnt have to have attitude she said she didnt and proceeded to argue with us. Bottom line is that this restaurant had our business and now they do not. She should not be working in customer service. I know how customer service is, I deal with people on a daily basis. Its all about attitude.

To get this out of the way its not a Buffet as the above picture suggests. Which leads me to assume (IMO) most of these reviews may be for a different location. But as for the China King located on hwy 46 and oak run our experience lacked patience when ordering. They forgot part of our order. During our meal they never checked on us to see if we needed anything. The seating was cramped and uncomfortable. The food was okay, but not the best we ever had as a lot of the reviews stated. Our food was served hot though which is a plus. Overall it was an average experience and one we wont drive out of the way for.

Living in Manhattan New York Ive been very spoiled having the best chinese food around the corner. Ive been looking for over a year for good Chinese food in Texas let alone new braunfels. Well the search is officially over. China King is fantastic. Family style plating made it easy to try many dishes. Everything from the soups to the curry is fantastic. Authentic dishes with excellent portion sizes. Trust me.. You will have left overs. The staff was amazing.. The restaurant is clean.. And the food came out piping hot and very quick.

Good service, the teriyaki beef appetizer is great, and the sweet-and-sour chicken is very good. However, I have to agree with the other reviewer who said the General Tsos chicken needed more spice. Even ignoring the fact that its marked as a "spicy" dish on their menu, it was very bland. Like driving-through-central-Kansas bland. Very disappointing. Oh, and the fortune cookies were very good, but the fortunes in them were completely wrong. :-)

My daughters and I love China King! My kids can be picky eaters, but fell in love with the Sesame chicken, lo mein noodles, and spring rolls. They have wonderful service and the best Chinese in New Braunfels. Weve been many different times with different family members and friends and have always been served quickly and politely, no matter who is working that night. The staff is extremely helpful and very friendly. Will be back!

Quite possibly the best Chinese food I have ever had. The food, the service -- both were impeccable. We loved it so much, we went back again the next day. Very good prices (about $10.95 for a dinner plate thats honestly enough food for two people). Cant say enough how friendly the staff was. We had the sesame chicken and the General Tsaos chicken. Both were delicious. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

The China King at 1847 TX-46 in New Braunfels has fallen in its overall quality over the last few years. The "spicy" foods are bland, the service is sporadic at best, and take out orders were incomplete. It was great a couple years ago, but now its not worth going back. We will continue our search for a quality szechuan restaurant. This ones not it.

Other places around town are too bland. The entrees at China King have better flavor and spice and theyll make your meal extra spicy if requested. Also, the portions are very large (lunch or dinner) so splitting a plate between two people is feasible. If you like authentic Chinese/Asian cuisine then this is your place.

Best Chinese food in town! Very large portions, I usually split my plate with someone. Sesame Chicken is unlike anything Ive had before. Very friendly, extremely fast service. If you want your plate spicy they can make it very spicy! Ive been eating here for a very long time, just as good as the first time I went!

The best part of the meal was the appetizer beef teriyaki. Otherwise it was all pretty bland. I got the general tso chicken and wanted it spicy. The sauce was pretty sweet. I had to add srirachi sauce to get any heat. Good service, quick to the table, but I dont know if theres good Chinese anywhere around here.

Stopped and had lunch with my son and girlfriend the other day. Food was horrible I had pepper steak and my son had Mongolian beef. It all looked the same and ton of gravy. Food has gone down hill. I do not recommend.

The food is horrible. Typical strip mall chinese brown sauce found on every plate. Wilted, old vegetables, tough meat. The only thing Chinese about this place are the pictures on the wall. The rest is Americanised slop.

Food is always good and very large portions. I always call ahead to order and the guy recognizes my voice and remembers my usual selection. They always offer me a drink if I get there before my food is ready to go.

my name is Jennifer and i visit ching king in bulverde all the time and they never have anywhere to sit bc the owner lets her kids play on 3 of the 8 booths and service time is good but the food isnt i got diarrhea.
