What To Order: Beef Bulgogi, LA Ribs, Dol Sot Bibimbap, Hae Mul Pa Jeon (Seafood Pancake), Goon Man Doo Awesome Korean restaurant, especially for late night dining. I always complain San Antonio has a lack of places to eat late at night. Arirang is open until 2am most nights and is a great place to go when your craving something different after 9pm. Ive found some places that Americanize Korean food, but the items served here at Arirang are a true taste of Korean cuisine. My absolute favorites are the Beef Bulgogi and the LA Ribs. The Beef Bulgogi can be hard to find on the menu, dont mistake it for the Ttook Bulgogi which is a soup or hotpot bulgogi. Ask if you cant find it, and dont forget to ask for gochujang sauce. A good appetizer here is the #31 Hae Mul Pa Jeon (Seafood pancake) or #36 Goon Man Doo (Fried Dumplings) All the meals come served with traditional banchan (side dishes) pickled vegetables, kimchi, brocoli, beansprouts, ect. The food is always amazing, no matter the time of day, wait staff is friendly, and if you have a question about what something is, or how to eat something just ask, they are glad to educate you on Korean cuisine. Ive been eating at Arirang for years now and occasionally your need for a refill of drink or banchan can be missed. Just wave your hand if no one comes by.. the tables have dividers between them, and sometimes your need can just go unnoticed. I give this place 4 stars, Excellent Food, Late Night Hours, Excellent Service, Authentic Cuisine, Wide Variety on Menu. I highly recommend this place for late night meals.

Worst Korean food Ive had in a long time. What makes this such a bad experience is that I can usually find at least one redeeming quality in a restaurant, this often offsets any shortcomings. For example the food being mediocre but the price being low, or bad service but delicious food, and so on. Unfortunately at Arirang it has very little to offer. First off, it has no illuminated sign. In fact no outside lights whatsoever. Making it difficult to see at night. Its certainly a hole-in-the-wall, inside and outside, but that never puts me off. The food can be described with two words: Over Salted and Too Oily. More so than any other Korean restaurant around town. We had six people and all of our dishes were like this. You might think the food was cheap? Guess again. Six entrees and one appetizer: total bill just over $115, you do the math. To top it off I was surprised that the waitress collected my signed and completed receipt (including tip amount) while we were all still sitting there. Not the end of the world but I must say thats the first time Ive ever had that happen at a restaurant. This isnt high-end dining so the complete imbalance of the dump location and bad food thats overly priced, left all six of us feeling unanimously disappointed. Perhaps the only benefit out of all of this (if you want to call it that) is we all learned where NOT to go for Korean food next time. Nevertheless, I give it two stars because I love Korean food in general and although it was the worst Korean Ive had, overall there are worse restaurants elsewhere in town.

Arirang Korean Restaurant was a surprising find. Its now the second Korean restaurant that we like in San Antonio (the first is Chongs Korean). There were only 6 or 7 kimchi dishes, but all were superb and two were unique. In fact, some of the kimchis were perhaps better than the similar offering at Chongs. The wife had the kimchi chigae, which she found to be absolutely delicious. The spiciness, temperature, and flavor were top notch; however, the meat was severely lacking. It has a different style and taste than Chongs, so it cannot be directly compared. However, Chongs has more meat. I ordered the beef galbi. Whereas most galbis I have tried only taste like charred meat, this galbi had a perfect level of "char" along with excellent flavor from the seasoning and spices. Yep, the only other Korean restaurant that has pulled off a good galbi is, you guessed it, Chongs. Chongs isnt charred though and seems to be more broiled. It has a more complex flavor, but I would say the restaurants have two different styles. In short, Arirang impressed us. It resides in my top 4 Korean restaurants: 1) Chongs Korean, 2) Arirang Korean, 3) Kiku Garden, and 4) Ilsong Garden

I went to this restaurant based on the Google reviews, they didnt lie, the restaurant was GREAT! The lady who I imagine was part owner and served us was named Choi, I believe, she was so sweet and funny and helped us all get different dishes so we could get different tries of everything. Im into Korean shows and music and instead of brushing it off like most Koreans Ive met she was super cool and said she liked a lot of the same things. We spent about 100$ for four people but what I really thought was cool was when 2 of us ordered a Korean drink instead of making us waste 13$ each and not like it she said Ill bring one with 4 cups for all you to share and see if you want more. We ate soooo much but everything was home cooked and delicious and the plates were packed with food. I ordered squid and unlike other places that give you a couple pieces they gave me a lot! All the sea food plates were worth it. Great experience over all cant wait to go back when we are in San Antonio! Might go back in two weeks just for it lol!

Jamaal Haffner, you idiot, closing kitchen at 1:50 isnt acceptable? do you think your soup could be ready and you can finish your soup in 10 minutes? even every restaurants close their kitchen 30mins earlier. its a common sense. this idiot is really selfish and stupid. hak3r hak3r, i have nothing to say for you. you probably from other korean restaurants near this place. stale and old tastes? over priced? this place is awesome tasted and same price with other korean restaurant but more food. Had dinner at this place yesterday and the food and service was Spectacular! This small restaurant is owned by a humble family. The flavors of the Bulgogi amd Korean BBQ are authentic. The kind female owner gave us a little bit of the culture as far as how the plates are set up and why they are placed that way, it felt like I was eating with family at my home. I asked her if I could stay and learn and she was sweet enough to tell me I could. I recommend this place to any amd all who love/want to try Korean food! Will most definitely return!

The food is ok. I expected it to be less pricey for the area and building it was in. Im half Korean so Ive had my fair share of Korean food. The three stars is due to the service. Not only myself but friends have talked about the lack of and the rudeness of service here. So for me there are a couple of other Korean places I like to go with better food and service with similar pricing. I wont name them because Im not advertising for them, but wanted to talk about my personal experience with this place.
