edit: "never again" and "worst restaurant review" .... Awesome how both of these negative reviews come from new profiles with no other reviews and are a highly critical response of any good reviews of vietnam restaurant. both are negative review and obvious shilling for vans next door. how about vans get some decent review based on the quality of food rather than attempting to insult their competitor? despite both having been around for a few years, it seems vans feels that they can only complete through such petty means as attempting to block access to semi shared parking with poorly thought concrete poles and semi anonymous reviews with insults. So Vans, the one next door that "just opened up", how about learning to compete on your own merit instead of attempting to sling poorly disguised insults to cover your own inadequecy. First off: if you can only accept fine dining with spotless dinnerware, impeccable decor and "atmosphere", stop looking down your nose, get off your high horse or look elsewhere (good look finding other good vietnamese around here). Its not especially fancy, in fact its a bit of a hole in the wall but that has nothing to do with the food. My wife and I have eaten here regularly over three years now and never been disappointed with the food. We can always count on tasty, healthy portions at a reasonable price. There have been a few misses here and there on service but at least the younger wait staff have always been good to us, often sitting down with us for a bit to talk about a little bit of everything. Our favorites so far have been the snow rolls, spring rolls (I saw someone write a complaint about the appearance of them but who cares how they look? is it art or food, theyre delicious), beef pho and a noodle dish with charbroiled beef by the rough name of Bo Bun. Overall its an affordable, down to earth sort of place in our opinion and our favorite in town when we crave some good asian food. notice far more emphasis on good over pretty; food is food, taste is not contingent on appearance.

Best SPRING ROLLS hands down!!! If i was gonna be put to death tomorrow this would be the place i would order from for my last meal !!!!!be adventurous and try different menu items here. the crab claws here make my knees wobble and my eyes roll to the back of my head, they are Amaaaaazing !!! A little pricey but worth the money. As i said before the spring rolls are delicious and i notice almost every table gets an order of them when im there. the staff has always been helpful and friendly on every one of my visits. I love that our food is out within ten, fifteen minutes of ordering. Ambiance is nice, plain, nothing real fancy, top 100 radio pop hits or something like that is always playing on the radio in there, pretty funny. All in all i go to eat and not to look or listen to anything, i go for the food and its GREAT. Parking can be a pain but nothin to fuss over. cards and cash accepted. FYI, they bottle their own fish sauce and sell it, its the same phenomenal fish sauce thats on the tables, Buy It !!!

I really dont like giving bad reviews to any restaurant but this needs to be said. Their Pho was on point thank god! So my daughter enjoyed hers at least. I ordered the BUN (vermicelli noodles) with eggs rolls. I even asked for combo of egg rolls and chicken if possible, which they gave me, charged extra for it too. It was SO disappointing to say the least! The egg rolls we not really eggs rolls. Maybe chinese egg roll maybe? The chicken was not was the right kind of chicken to use for this dish. It seemed like Chinese type of chicken they use for like chicken with veggies? Worse Vietnamese place Ive ever really ate in San Antonio so far! This restaurant seems more Chinese than Vietnamese to me. Why dont people just stick to what they know and stop doing asian fusion?! Oh, lets not forget my iced coffee. It was served iced melted and just sad..sorry but I at least gave 2 stars. The lady in the is really nice though.

Dont get me wrong. The food is great but they did me wrong on a to-go by charging me for an extra order of spring rolls (which I would have had no problem had they included them but they did not). I tried calling to seek resolution but the operator did not speak English well and was not very helpful. Also, the cashier said they would include peanut sauce but failed to do so addig insult to injury. Last time, they had forgot the normally included sauce as well. I believe the management really needs to tighten up the staff because they have messed up my orders twice. Unacceptable. Update: Called again and asked to speak to manager. The lady so there was no manager available. Not surprised. Tried to voice my complaint in very simple terms and was hung up on. Well. Not getting any more business from me. I dont care how good their spring rolls are.

I spent over $50 at this place and 3 out of the 4 to go plates were wrong. The pad thai was missing the rice, the sweet and sour chicken had no sweet and sour sauce, and they shorted me of chicken on one of the basil chicken dishes. (These are $10 plates!)I failed to check the plates before leaving, but I was in a hurry. The restaurant was not busy at all, and I cant see how they could make so many mistakes. When I contacted them about all the mistakes, the women could barely understand me and said there wasnt a manager available at the time. When I asked if she could put someone on the phone who would understand me better, she hung up on me. I called back two more times only to be hung up on. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Save your money. You can get better quality food and service elsewhere!

Our server gave quality service, though may have not answered our questions as confidently as we would have liked. The Atmosphere was interesting; clean and very quiet. We did go on a Monday so I understand that perhaps that may have been why it was so quiet. Still, I feel like they could have turned the music up a bit just to give it some background noise. The food was awesome! Not only was it as close as I have come to homemade Vietnamese (in San Antonio) from my Vietnamese family (best friends family-like my second family), but the portions were right on for the price. I will also mention the old lady who I believe was the owner/relative of owner was super nice. She brought extra herbs and sauces for some of our dishes and made great food choice recommendations. I will definitely be back.

So Ive been coming to eat here since I was about 12 years old now Im 27 years old. Just recently, I ordered my food and I needed a refill on my sweat tea so I asked the waitress who looked about the age of 19 years old for a refill on my sweat tea and she said very rudely and coldly," I will get you tea when I have the time." So after that you can say I lost my appetite...I knew I shouldnt have paid for my food since I didnt eat anymore after that but I didnt want to keep the negativity going so I just paid and quietly left. I am a good tipper too so that restraunt lost a good customer thats for sure! But that what happens when you give bad customer service, you lose good and loyal customers,& youre business gets a bad rating.
