I used to be a very loyal and frequent customer of Hop Tung but their portions started getting smaller and smaller and I decided to try Le Lai. I shouldve tried them sooner... their Pad Thai is amazing! I lived in NYC for a few months and one of the things that I still miss is the Pad Thai from a restaurant called Spice. Le Lai has the only Pad Thai that reminds me of the one in NYC. I have recommended Le Lai to friends and they have become fans! I havent tried much else but according to my friend, what her mother and sister ordered (orange chicken and dont know what else...), was also very good. I go so much, that the girl at the counter recognizes me... oops! Its true, sometimes they dont answer (line is busy) but hey, I want my Pad Thai... I dont give up and eventually, they will answer. :D And beware.. portions (at least for the Pad Thai) are HUGE!

The dishes arent as good as they could be. The menu sites variety but all the dishes we ordered were disappointing. It seemed like to many substitutions were made making the dishes plain tasting. The pad Thai tasted like ketchup was used as a base for the sauce. The lemongrass was boring but in fairness I do have a chicken allergy. They were really rubbed in to that possibly out of feast of liability who knows. Ive had Asian in many places this place could be made better.

One of the best Vietnamese/Chinese Restaurants in McAllen. Good price. Excellent Service. Love their beef and double mushroom plate. Fried tofu with black bean sauce. Heaven! One con, I agree with other reviewers. The order to go is a hassle. For whatever reason, they dont answer their phone. Takes a while before they take your call.

I gave two stars for the big portions and the good service but the food is way too salty (90% of the taste is pure salt). This could be a very good restaurant without this problem. If you are looking for heart problems this is the place to eat!

People are nice. Food quantity is plenty. Taste is good. I went there after high recommendation but it was OK. Didnt get disappointed. We tried Beef, Chicken, and Shrimp dishes. I should say it is a good buy for the low price we pay.

Big portions for family style dining and great lunch specials for smaller meals. Recommend the chicken sate (#34), the triple delight fried rice, and chicken+shrimp pad Thai.

I had the BBQ Shrimp w/ Vermicelli and I enjoyed it. The restaurant is quiet and the service is good and quick. Will probably be back soon.
