My husband and I went to the Golden Corral in Longview, TX off of Hwy 281 about a week and a half ago. We are new to the area and my husbands favorite place to eat is Golden Corral so naturally, we tried the one here in Longview a little over a week ago. To say the least, it was not what our usual experiences have been in the past. There were several issues not up to par. The GM, Gustavo, listened to our concerns, explained to us that this location was in transition and to give it a week, and return, and dinner would be taken care of to see the differences. I have to say that I was not convinced. Although Mr. Gustavo was super receptive, very attentive and understood our concerns, it just seemed impossible to make such drastic changes in a week. So tonight, we stopped back by to give it another try. When we walked in the door, 100% difference, from the presentation, cleanliness, friendliness and attentiveness of the servers and Gustavo as before. I truly was floored when I sat down with pretty much what I always eat, and to my surprise, food was piping hot, seasoned perfectly, everything was fantastic compared to our first visit. I have to give it to this GM, Gustavo, I didnt get his last name, but he is absolutely incredible, our servers Lori and Julie were great, very attentive not only to us but everyone around us. Overall, we were definately impressed with what a weeks difference made. Im sure it took alot of hard work but this Golden Corral at this rate will be top notch in no time. Corporate Office should take a look at the differences here. Its been huge in just a week. We will definately be returning. Thanks to all the staff who made this dinner out a great one. Kudos!!!

Me and my 8 yo son ate there several times since GC opened. The food was always great and GC was so good; Ryans shut down. Most of the waitresses were great. Yes the floor gets dirty but with that much traffic its gonna. RR needed attention, always smelled bad. I drink water but the high price fountain drink for my son was too high. Longview GC stopped the service of the waitress bringing rolls which is a negative to me. But a buffet restaurant is what it is & you can expect it to have some problems. Nevertheless, we went on a Friday holiday and Ryans had just closed so they had jacked up the menu price. I asked the cashier why and she muttered something about if you eat steak today its higher. What??? Duh!!! I said Im not eating steak. She said well, its a holiday and we had to raise the price. (They could have been honest and posted a sign on the front door saying now that we forced Ryans to close we have jacked up our price.) I said take the charge off my card were leaving. She had to go get the asst. mgr who came and she took the charge off my card. Very unfriendly. I really liked it there at first but saw a major change in service and some of the food after they changed from the first mgr. to the one when we went that last time. Nope, wont be back, too expensive. I can eat at Texas Roadhouse with much better food and service and a much lower price. I have eaten at GC in many cities and where the management was good so was the food and service. Longview failed.

Everything is nasty. The floor, silverware, plates, buffet lines, restrooms, and tables. Trash and food all over the floor, silverware and plates were either dirty with dried food or still dripping wet with questionable water. Restroom trash was overflowing with diapers and paper towles. And we had to clean our own table and chairs before we could sit. Waitress was nice and attentive, but she would clean wipe tables then touch peoples glasses to refill them without washing her hands. (I watched her pick something stuck off the carpet with her fingernail and wipe ot on her pants) and then asked if I wanted more to drink.... ummmmm no dont touch my glass. All that sucks because I really dont have aNY complaint on the food itself. It is a buffet and it was buffet food... it was "as to be expected". I will not be back tho for these reasons.... I have tried eating there several times, once when they first opened, about 5 months later and today.... all experiences were the exact same....everything extremely dirty, filthy, or greasy.

Sorry I am so late writing this but I was there a couple of weeks ago on a preaching engagement and visited your restaurant and I had the most beautiful experience! !!! My waitress Renee was absolutely the most amazing and kind person I have ever met in a food establishments, she went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure my guest and I were taken care of !!!!! We spoke to the manager to inform him of the awesome service he was also kind! !! The staff was phenomenal they kept the food coming and hot letting nothing get to empty and they were also kind !!!!! So often we hear of the negative experience and when we get great service it tends to get over looked so it was a must that I take this time to commend your management and staff of a job well done !!!! Cuddos to you all all the way from Birmingham AL

I believe you can get a much better meal somewhere else for the prices youll pay here but thats just my opinion. Overall the food selections are plentiful and the quality isnt that bad, but its a serve yourself buffet, and as such I just wasnt that impressed with the cleanliness or atmosphere in this place. Its like driving thru rush hour traffic trying to get around to find things you want with idiots stopping or pulling out in front of you on every turn you make... with plenty of noise! Ill probably go there again, but it wont be a regular favorite, and only deserves 3 stars from me.

Went there with my Girlfriend. Waitress (Renee) kept putting her hands on my arm and shoulder multiple times which I did not like. We each had two lightly loaded plates and a desert plate and overheard the waitress asking if they should charge us extra and that we ate too much. food was mediocre. Steak was undercooked I had to refill my own drink and Renee was rude to my girlfriend. Will not be returning.

First, the to go cup for a drink is way overpriced at $3.00. The place is filthy, especially the salad bar and the floors. The food was mediocre at best, some of it cold, some of it way over cooked, and some of it looked days old. The lady clearing tables was really nice, though, so theres that to miss since Im never coming back.

Over priced school lunch food. The waitress wouldnt let me get my own drink then she kept making me wait. There was way too many waitresses in there to not refill my drinks. The food didnt taste that good. I regretted paying 100$ for 5 people and wished we would have went somewhere else.

Gross food, dirty restaurant. Really strong mold smell. Its not worth the $$$. The food is overcooked or just not there. The floors are filthy. The tables are filthy. The windowsill next to where we were sitting had 20+ dead flies. (I have pictures of the flies and filth.)
