We came to First watch after walking to a couple other places and not seeing a lot of variety on the menu. This place is located in a small strip mall reminiscent of the south (where everything was in a strip mall) and had a pretty wild west sort of exterior feel. Upon entering we were greeted by about 25 other folks who had arrived before us. It took about 20 minutes to get seated, but on the plus side, they had free coffee while we waited and a bunch of newspapers for reading - extra star for this! The type of place we were looking for was a more local sort of spot and what we ended up with was a Perkins that had a little more pizzaz - fewer geriatrics and more young groups, but Perkins-esk none-the less. A step up from Ihop and a step down from a place with more local flavor. Once seated we were greeted by our server who was very friendly and who made some good recommendations for breakfast. The coffee was decent and the orange juice good. I had the chickichanga - A delightful breakfast burrito with a salsa-creamy sauce on top along with fruit (4 pieces) and some potatoes that were quite good. The wifey had the bacodo omelette (bacon/cheese/avocado) and while it was okay, its wasnt anything to write home about. Positives were service and the chickichanga, the negatives were the overall quality of the food and the lack of character of the establishment overall. A good place to go with a group of people for sure, but when looking for something a little out of the ordinary, you can find other spots close by.

While the eggs, meat and even vegetarian dishes are very good I would avoid coming here for any type of meal that uses syrup. We ordered a single pancake and the syrup they brought to the table was pretty much just like darkly coloured sugar water basically inedible. When we complained we were told two different excuses one was they keep the syrup in hot water and sometimes the water gets into the syrup, the other was they are trying to make the syrup healthier. Im not sure why you would try to make syrup healthier its a waste of time specially since its for the least healthiest of breakfast choices. Overall if you want a good breakfast that requires any type of syrup I would go elsewhere. Also the service was not the greatest as when complained about the food they said they would take 50% of the bill but they only took half of the pancake or about $1.00.

I would first like to start off by saying that I am in LOVE with First Watch, it was even the place we had our morning after wedding breakfast at. BUT this location is AWFUL. We went on a weekday morning so there were not a lot of people there. The coffee tasted like it had sat on the burner for 30 hours prior to us getting it. I ordered the fresh fruit crepes and DH ordered the Trifecta. My crepes were not good, I may be slightly at fault as I thought the crepes would be warm but they were ice cold instead. The english muffin I got was hard as a rock and cold. DH Belgian waffle was mushy underneath and slightly about room temp and his bacon was slightly below room temp. I am not sure how our food could have sat for that long with how slow they were but it obviously sat for a while. I would still recommend First Watch to anyone just not this location.

Went here for breakfast recently. The front door somehow got locked during business hours, and when we knocked and waved, some of the staff just stared then turned around and walked away. Luckily one of their employees needed in, so they finally came over. They didnt know the door had locked, and never apologized for the inconvenience. Luckily the food was good. My order was correct, my friend got salad instead of the fruit she ordered. The waiter admittedly had OCD but seemed scattered. Given that there are so many of these around town, I dont think Ill go back to this one. Id gladly drive farther to try one I had better service at.

Food was great. Hospitality is something they need to improve. I had to wait for 5 min. before someone greeted/acknowledged my present. Once seated the table was nasty/dirty. I had to request to have the table wash down. The waistress was nice, but facial expression tell you differently. The cashier/manager seem like he was having a bad day...everything that came out of his mouth was routine and ignored my response about the meal which was great. The environment was relaxed, reminds me of Crackel Barrel

It was my first time being at the Westport location since they remodeled. The service was good & the food was great as usual - and the Avocado Toast was amazing. But ... since the remodel it is so noisy I almost couldnt stand it. It was so distracting. I found it difficult to have a conversation - I had to work too hard to hear my dining companion. Maybe I should go when its not so busy, but its really too bad. They need to fix that.

First watch is a major player in the Kansas City brunch scene. The chickichanga is a classic, the pancakes have great variety and are large in size, and they have their own roast of coffee. Also- the staff is ALWAYS fantastic and I really appreciate it. The decor is pretty vanilla but youre here for the food and service not to look at the walls. Todays meal was the chickichanga and coffee- after taxes $13.22.

Kinda a weird chain, a bit of a strange vibe, some things are a little over-priced, but in general the food is pretty consistently good. Wonderful breakfast/brunch. Options galore. Most people should be able to find some things to eat. Some relatively healthy options as well. Not gonna lie, despite the weird vibe, Ive eaten at first watch many times, and would definitely do it again.

Exceptional food and service and a good value. We had a breakfast party of 20. Tried the "lightly sweetened" strawberry mash drink and it was sweet as soda and the basil part was a sprigg of fresh basil as a garnish, so that was the only let down for me. My avocado toast was yummy with lots of avocado and perfect based eggs. Our wait people rocked it!

Great selection of wholesome meals, a full-sized carafe of coffee for less than 3 bucks, quick, polite service and a great overall experience! It can get pretty busy (there was a 45 minute wait when I was greeted), but I had the option of sitting at the first-come-first-serve table! As I was dining alone, it was a nice way to get seated quickly.

They have great coffee and friendly service. I had the biscuits and gravy, which came out cold. However, they quickly corrected the problem. The biscuits are just the right amount of crunchiness and the turkey gravy was honestly better than most sausage gravy Ive had. Their wheat toast was amazing, as well. Im definitely coming back

Everything is so delicious here! And the coffee is wonderful! There is always a long wait in Sundays but trust me, its worth it. Prices are the same as any ihop or dennys but as a restaurant its on a whole different level. We check in and go shop at the bookstore. About the time were done shopping, the table is ready. Its perfect!
