I do not know how this place can pass as "Mexican". And what makes it even worse is their sign on the door that should be taken down:"Best Mexican food in Texas". Yeah right! Taco: Bland and tasteless. I can not get past the fact it didnt even come with cheese. Enchilada: Tasted as if were microwaved and then covered with the "cheese and sauce" Tamale: No freaking flavor! Re-fried beans: How can you mess that up?! No flavor! Rice: How does Mexican style rice have no flavor? Salsa: Could barely eat it with the chips Even My kids quesadilla did not have any flavor And lastly: The cheese dip. Otherwise should have been known as: Melted Velveeta- There is no way on Earth that this places "cheese dip" could EVER pass as queso. All and all, will not go there again. There are places on the East coast that are much better and know what Mexican food tastes like. I would even bet that places up in the New England states have better Mexican food than this place! WORST MEXICAN RESTAURANT EVER!!!

AMAAAZING!!!! Omg I have not tasted a good Mexican restaurant like this in this area in a long time. The salsa was just a tad spiced (perfect) chips were perfect amount of crunch. The El Presidente was delicious all around. The frijoles a la charra taste fresh and home made. Great prices for the amount of food. My husband and kids were shocked as to how good it was. We were in a mind set that it would be Tex mex but its not. I hope they dont change the flavors and go more toward text mex because it will break my heart. Service was outstanding. All around from getting fresh chips because my son poured sugar on the chips, to always having our drinks full. We will definitely be back again. It honestly reminded me of homemade Mexican food that had the perfect amount of spice and flavore. Not to spice and definitely not bland. Great place I have been to in a while.

You know how every town in the South has a simple, go-to Mexican restaurant? Cheap food, cheap drink deals, decent service? This is it. My husband and I eat here about twice a month. Ive yet to be let down by anything Ive ordered. On Friday nights you might have to wait about 10 minutes before being seated, but that hardly seems to matter since the service is quick. Im partial to their fajitas, which definitely is enough to eat at dinner and at lunch tne text day. Dont go here expecting fancy - this is strictly a casual place. They do add an element of fun, though, with live music on the weekends!

We eat here on a weekly basis and the food is great. I am writing this week to say how greatful we are that they were opened every day during hurricane Harvey. This is a family owned business that opened and was serving food during a time that would have justified them closing... And to the couple who was complaining that they were not utilizing all the tables -be greatful you had a place to go to get a hot meal during this catastrophe and quit complaining that you had to wait because they were short handed. Remember that these workers have family that may be stranded or they may be stranded themselves!!

My husband and I have gone here for a long time and order for take out frequently, this last time there were no tortillas for our fajitas and we drove all the way back home then had to go back up there. I thought a bit of a discount would have been the professional way to apologize for the inconvenience, but apparently it was too much of a hassle for them to treat their guests well to make up for their mistake. There are plenty of other good Mexican restaurants in the area that we will be going to next time. Too bad.

Went on a Friday during lunch and ordered a chicken taco salad for myself and wife with a side of tamales and my kid had a beef taco with rice and beans. Meal was about $30ish and everything tasted bland with no flavor. The chicken in my taco salad tasted like it was just straight boiled with no seasoning put on it. The service was nice and drinks where refilled quickly but the price is too much for such bland food.

Delicious food, mediocre non-alcoholic drinks (but Im pretty picky and can be uppity when it comes to drinks so thats just me). The sides/add ons look expensive but theyre a heaping serving so not bad for their price, not bad at all. Huge dishes so youre more than likely to take leftovers home unless you go on an empty, starving stomach. Even the leftovers tasted great cold the next day.

The food wasnt good compared to other local mexican restaurants. They didnt bring my whole meal out together. They separated them time wise like appetizers! I couldnt have a conversation at my table because the singers and guitar was constantly going and loud. I live 2 blocks away from this place but I will never go back. I rather wait in line at Chuys that is 3 miles away.

My family and I have been going to this place together for years! I love the fajitas and margaritas. All the servers are super nice and the owner walks around often to check on patrons and the food. The mariachi band is amazing and both men are super nice! We have been going to El Rancheros for so long that we consider them family (:

I have been eating here since they opened years ago and they tried to give free beer with your meal. Apparently that is frowned upon by the law. They now have excellent margaritas and the best chips and salsa. The food has always been top notch for a very reasonable price. Cant go wrong at El Ranchero.

Great food/muchooo food! Excellent service You do not seat and waiiit for your food, your food is ready just a fewwmin after you order, which might include from 3 to 5 sides. The waiters check on you very often. What a great service, food and for a very good price. I totally recommend this place!!!

We have eaten there a couple times a week for overe ten years and it was our favorite. But last few times food was very bad and manager not at all helpful. We will not go back. Instead of trying to solve problem with food, manager just trys to argue that nothing Is wrong.

I have been here many times over the years. The food is pretty good, they have great bar specials. This is a good place to go for happy hour. I personally like their tacos and their tortilla soup. They offer take out, and I definitely recommend the queso.

It is a typical Mexican restaurant as far as its decor, menu items, and friendly, attentive wait staff. Prices are fair, too. Ive only been once, and my enchiladas verdes were pretty good. Whole experience was ok- not bad, but not 5-star worthy for sure.

The salsa was average. tasted watered down. the food was decent but you dont get as much for the price as you will at other Mexican restaurants. they did have a unique birthday celebration that included a sobrero for the birthday boy.
