It isnt the worst Taco Cabana Ive ever been to, but the food was disappointing, because everything else was pretty upscale for a Taco Cabana. It was cleaner than the average Taco Cabana and seemed a bit better organized. It is a nice location with nice outdoor tables and dining areas. Definitely a better atmosphere, setting, and view than almost all Taco Cabanas Ive been to. The quality of the food was just average for a Taco Cabana and thats not saying a lot. To be fair, this was my first visit to this location, it was late in the day, and they might do a better job with the food on another visit, .. so I will return. They could earn another star if they can get some experienced help in the kitchen. The key to leadership is vision: ☆ getting the ladder on the right wall. The key to management is climbing the ladder without slipping off: ☆ attention to detail, the little things that mean so much. Hint: dont plop the rice and beans on the plate until the fajitas are ready ... and ... on the plate. By the time it gets to the customer, the beans and rice are cold ... and NASTY. If I owned this place I could easily double the profits and have lines of customers standing all the way out to the street. The real key to this business is VOLUME. Your fixed costs are substantial, your variable costs are nominal. The Big Money Maker here is beverages and improving the customer experience would drive up beverage sales. Volume + customer experience = $$$ profit. Just go to Sams or Costco and buy a bunch of cheap small styrofoam bowls instead of trying to slop everything onto a cheap styrofoam plate. After the hot tortillas and hot tacos are on the plate; ... then put cool guacamole salad garnished with fresh lemon and lime slices in one bowl, piping hot beans into a separate bowl, and piping hot rice into another bowl. Maybe even another bowl with some fresh pico de gallo (that stuff on the condiment bar is usually pretty nasty and hard to maintain). Not only will this taste a lot better, it will also look a lot better, ... not like something that a malevolent mess Sergeant slopped onto Private Sad Sacks filthy mess kit as revenge for his tracking mud into the mess area. Taste begins with the eyes, if they are not pleased, the experience will be found wanting. Yes, most customers will end up mixing all this stuff together but; ... it will be fresh, hot, and mixed: if, when, where, and the way they want it. For $100 a month out of my hip pocket, I could transform this place into a five-star Gourmet restaurant ... and double profits.

Placed an order which included two chicken fajita burritos but got two chicken fajita bowls instead. I noticed the error before I left and asked if they could fix it. The young lady was going to fix it, but came back and said they are cleaning the grill, so she couldnt make it. She was at least apologetic. Took about 15 mins to get home to feed my family, all to find my nachos that were about $7 had a sprinkle of cheese sauce. I had to make my own cheese sauce. I did not want to drive all the way back so I called and spoke to I guess some type of supervisor named Rachael. I told her about the whole mishap, while she wasnt apologetic she did at least offer to replace my order at my convenience. Well tonight I took them up on the offer. I politely asked for a replacement order when I arrived at the drive thru, in return I received slow service (place was not busy...AT ALL), an incomplete order (still), poor food quality (still), and above all nonexistent customer service with ATTITUDES!!! Im sorry but once I received my order, I called out the cashier girl named Shandrea! Asked why she was rude and asked her why she had a hard time displaying common courtesy. I told her the only reason I was here is because you all screwed up on my order in the first place. Her response; I didnt make the order, I wasnt here! I said well you represent the company! The girl almost made me lose my religion, so I left. Im not calling or visting this location anymore. I will be going above the managers at this location. Never been so disgusted by such poor behavior!

I am giving this review now because this is the last straw. The food at this location is o.k.- the problem is one of the managers (a female) is rude and has horrible customer service skills because out of 10 times being there in the past year- they have messed up 6 of our orders. I also would like to mention my daughter and son in law and their friends have been to this same location and all of us have had many bad experiences. I have encountered this same manager on three occasions where something has gone wrong. My husband went in there today 9/30/2014. He ordered a taco salad and he was given two fajita tacos. He left the drive thru (cars were waiting behind him) and as he looked into the bag he saw tacos and his salad was not in there. On top of this, the man in the window did not give him a receipt. He immediately walked in with his bag of food and explained what had happened. The manager was rude (as usual) and said.... you paid for fajita tacos and thats what you got. He was frustrated and clearly arguing with her would not accomplish anything so he just walked out and went into the car and ate those fajita tacos because he was hungry and although he wanted a salad.... food is food when you are hungry. I do like the food so I would really appreciate it if they could step up their customer service and if they could please get their orders correct.

Absolutely horrible. Ive given this place many tries. Yesterday was the last. I get to the drive thru speaker and the guy said hold on a minute. 5 minutes later can I take your order. I start telling him my order and here comes the hold on a minute again. 5 minutes later he comes back. I had to tell him 5 times I wanted a large chicken fajita quesadilla. He then tells me they dont have any chicken. How do you run out of chicken at dinner time?? He tells me itll be 5 minutes for the chicken to cook so I said okay Ill wait. 20 minutes later I finally got my quesadilla. I may sound like Im nitpicking but I seriously have never had a good experience at this particular Taco Cabana. If Im going to wait this long and get this kind of service I might as well sit down and get some free chips and salsa with it.

Zero stars! This is the nastiest Taco Cabana Ive ever been to! All my friends say the same thing. I have been there 3 times in the last 3 years and each time I am appalled at how dirty the place is. I only went there the last 2 times because I thought that surely by now the management would have been replaced. The floors and tables are dirty, and the salsa station is poorly stocked and nasty. I have never seen anyone cleaning in the dining area. Typical turn around time to get a quesadilla is 20 - 30 minutes. I cannot believe that corporate would let a place like this exist or that the city of Humble has not forced them to shut their nasty doors.
