My friends and decided to have dinner here one Friday evening. We ordered three bottles of wine and the waiter never came by to fill up our wine glasses. Somebody in my group had to actually follow-up on the status of our order. I know past reviews say The Chef is like an artist, well thats wonderful and all, but most people go out to dinner expecting to get food within 1 hour of sitting down..not 2 hours. We werent even given a quick Your food will be out in 15 minutes However, the food was good, but then again, when youre paying good money for the food, wouldnt you expect excellent services? Those usually go hand-in-hand in the restaurant world. The last thing that I thought was very unprofessional was that our waiter even went as far as writing in the EXPECTED gratuity amount on our bill, it was even printed, and we did not agree with the amount. Overall, I would not recommend this place and will probably never go back. There are many other places in Houston that offer better service for a equal price. .

I frequent this restaurant regularly and often bring visiting guests from universities and medical schools both inside and outside the US. All marvel ( including guests from Italy) at the food selection, wine list and friendliness of staff. Many who frequent have developed a personal relationship with the owner Patrick and the Sommelier Thomas who are personable and very interested in your experience with the food and service. So I have to chuckle at the negative reviews and wonder if they are written by the competition. I was there twice this week and had an exquisitely cooked grouper on one occasion and papparadelle with rabbit on the other. Try to find a wine list, both bottle and by the glass, as reasonable anywhere in Houston and you will come up to short , not to mention rarities such as an upscale Lambrusco by the glass for an aperitif...and you can buy any bottle that you really like. We will be going back in two weeks and bringing a group of visiting professors from Chicago. Cant wait.

Popped on without reservations on a Wednesday night. Service was excellent all the way through dessert. Wine list was well rounded and average for price points. We had the antipasto plate, wine, goat cheese ravioli, and the duck/broccoli/pasta dish. Food arrived in reasonable time ,portion size was perfect, and it was nicely presented. Both of our dishes were outstanding both in freshness / quality of ingredients and in flavoring. As previous review below mentioned , this is non-Americanized establishment, nothing was smothered in sauces or over sized in portion. Highly recommend this establishment if you prefer to savor your authentic italian meal and not wolf it down .

I went to this place with a group of friends, and what a disappointment from the start! We had to call the waiter over to order our wine, and call him over again to order our entreé. We were never served bread until we asked, then we had to ask again for butter. I ordered the goat cheese ravioli, and it just tasted OK, but was very oily. I have an upset stomach as I write this because of all of that oily food, and I am not overweight or out of shape. There are too many good places to eat in Houston to waste your time on this poor service and mediocre food.

Divino has become one of my lifetime favorites! I recently moved to Midtown, I live her part time for work. I love great food and wine, and that is exactly what Divino offers! I dine alone as my friends and family are all back home in Colorado, but dining alone at the bar at Divino is as natural as being in my own home. The staff are all friendly and incredibly knowledgable and the food is absolutely top notch! I cant say enough about this place. Fantastic!

Wait staff very attentive but not very good with wine recommendations. Spinach and pear salad very drab with tasteless dressing. Special entree of tuna naturally cooked in oil over pasta was overcooked and flavorless. Desserts as well lacked flavor especially the grilled peach dish. First time and last time to go here as there are too many other great Italian restauants to choose from in Houston. Long term prospects for this one appear dim.

This is not an "American-Italian" restaurant where everything is smothered in thick, creamy sauces. Do not expect that. This is extremely authentic & fresh Italian food. A true gem hidden away in Houston. Excellent food. Excellent service. Outstanding wine selection. Fresh, flavorful, and authentic. Cant even count how many times Ive been here. This is one of my regular haunt & will be for years to come.

A small place with a charming, neighborhood feel to it. I love several of their pastas and always find that they cook fish particularly well. The wine list is very reasonably priced and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. There are many reasons its full every time we visit.

Discovered this place a few months ago and it is now one of my favorites! The food and service is excellent. Has a great wine list. Best of all, it is a small, charming place with great ambiance. Wine tastings on the first Monday of the month are an extra treat.

Visited tonight for my brothers bday, had excellent wine, good service, nice cheese, but the rest of the food was awful. There was no seasoning at all. I ate my three scallops, but that was it. The risotto was not impressive either. The tab was $650...

Food was good, great wine, acoustics are terrible, you can hear every word from the bar and across the room. For this type of dinning one would expect an atmosphere to match the culinary and artistic attempt at architecture.

Fine, nothing distinctive. Just another Italian place to go when you feel like a change of scenery. Server mixed up dinners for the couples sitting on either side of me, which I found a little awkward.

Best Italian hands down! Pasta made from scratch the old fashion way and this is not a chain. Wine selection amazing. Not a bad meal only problem is deciding on what to order. Lasagna best Ive had!

Terrible Restaurant-overcharge for horrible food. Spinach steak salad had one nickel sized piece of steak. Dont waste your time. The positive reviews may be written by the owners!!
