I prefer a mom and pop restaurant over a chain restaurant anyday! I have friends in Spring, TX that share the same sentiment. Whilst attending a Christmas luncheon in The Woodlands this past Wednesday, I received a call from my friends to join them at The Italian Joint for dinner. I felt confident that my friends had chosen a venue that I would most definitely enjoy. This venue is a BYOB but my friends a fully stocked shopping bag. When I arrived, they had ordered an appetizer, the fried risotto balls filled with Parmesan, basil and mozzarella and served with marinara sauce. Which was excellent. Assuming that Marie was part of our group when she came and sat next me at the table I was later told that she was one of the owners. I also learned that she owns the Black Sheep Bistro as well around the corner and they have a liquor license. Maria asked which type of wine I preferred and I said, Pinot Noir. Marie left and came back with a very nice J.P. Chenet Reserve Pinot Noir that sh went to The Black Sheep Bistro to pick up for me. For my entrée, I ordered the Chicken Fettucine Alfredo, breaded and fried chicken over egg fettuccine noodles, cream and Parmesan cheese. This was the best Alfredo l that I have had in ages. It was light and not overbearing, filling one up to the embarrassment of girth expansion and misery. Im not really a dessert person but I was able to sample the Cannolis, Tiramisu, and Joes Killer Carrot Cake. I must admit that I did rescue the Carrot Cake and take it home. I have absolutely fallen in love with this venue and will definitely return when Im in the area

Horrible customer service. I will never come back here again. When I boyfriend and I gave our name to the hostess, she said it would take 15 minutes or less to be seated. Well she promptly diassapeared and left us waiting for 50 minutes while table after table preceded to empty and leave. When she finally reappeared she gave us attitude and told us that she could t seat us sooner because she had no silverware available. I dont know if that is even true but she should have given us an update instead of keeping us waiting and wondering where on earth she had disappeared to (probably the worlds longest smoke break). None of the waiters or waitresses bothered to help us either and service was extremely slow by the time we were finally seated. Overall a very frustrating experience!

My only disappointment is i didnt find out about this place sooner! Great if you want fresh, home cooked, authentic italian food at a very reasonable price. Staff is attentive and accommodating in a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend the room they have upstairs for events such as wedding receptions, baby showers exc. They hosted our wedding reception after weeks of looking at venues thru out the Spring/Tomball/Woodlands area, and was shocked at how competitive their prices were for the amazing service they provided. Couldnt have been more satisfied with food, service, the over all experience.

Loved the place! The decor is spartan, like that in many small Texas towns -- old wood floors and walls, checked table cloths and thats about it. But the service is attentive, thoughtful and sweet, and the food was fantastic! We had the meatballs, angel hair shrimp and oriechiatto (sp?). All were served promptly, just made and piping hot, along with great bread, obviously kneaded and baked on site. No wine yet, but you can bring your own if you like. We went on a Tuesday night, so it wasnt too crowded. Will definitely be back.

Too bad there are not negative stars. This place doesnt deserve even 1 star!! If you like your food with a large helping of FLIES then this is the place for you. Owner argued with me and charged me for food when we cancelled our order due to the 40--50 flies all over the inside of the restaurant that we couldnt keep from landing in our drinks. Blamed another restaurant down the street for attracting the flies and claimed they couldnt do anything to control them and that they were not a health problem.

We attended a wedding at The Italian Joint on Saturday night and were so impressed with this little haven tucked away in Old Town Spring. The upstairs room is perfect for a small intimate wedding, the windows make it so light and bright and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, just what you want for a wedding celebration! If you are looking for a smaller venue offering great food, great wine and awesome service, give these guys a call! Thank you Italian Joint for a fantastic evening!

Went here for lunch during the week, there were flies inside the restaurant and we were swatting them off our food and out of our hair the entire meal. There was also a dead bug on my chicken dish, which wasnt good even without the bug (basically just breaded chicken floating in half an inch of lemon butter sauce, with a side of average penne pasta). Really wanted to like this place, but I wont ever go back. I will say the server was really nice though.

Some of the best Italian food Ive ever had, without a doubt. A fantastic Caesar salad and some excellent pizza (ask for crispy crust). The carrot cake is the best Ive ever had. The restaurant is very unassuming, and the staff are quite friendly. Make sure to bring your own wine if you want any with your food, as they do not sell any there but do offer cork service.

Overall I enjoyed my meal I had the chicken marsala, however it needs improvement the wine sauce could be reduced a bit more to execute the flavors and the ny style cannolis were not what I expected since I am Italian I wouldve preferred fresh mascapone with the chocolate chip filling but presentation wise they looked wonderful.

I went with my gf and we liked that the menu states that the salad is big enough for two. And it was. The bread was OK. We also ordered the chicken Alfredo. It was basically a breaded piece of chicken on top of buttery butter noodles. It was not good. Im giving 2 stars because the salad was good. The service was not bad.

The food here is just amazing! We requested to sit on the patio and our server Gaitano(awesome job by the way) immediately got us a table. Definetely recommend this place if you LOVE italian food. I love how you can get a view into the kitchen i was definetely amazed by the flavor and quality food they serve here!

They would get 5 stars except theyre always out of something. Every time I go theyre out of something I was particularly wanting. Appetizers, Lasagna, etc. How does an Italian Joint run out of Lasagna? If they cant get supply issues sorted it will eventually cause people to look elsewhere...

Dont be surprised that you are entering a rock climbing facility! The burgers are amazing, and the garlic fries just made the experience awesome. The food was freshly made, so it might take a few minutes for your food to arrive. Will be eating here again! Note they are closed on Sundays

The food is delicious. There is no arguing that! The crusty bread with homemade garlic butter is to die for. My only complaint is the pricing does not match the atmosphere. The inside reminds me of a pizza place in a ski town, but the pricing demands cloth napkins.
