For this restaurant being a franchise, it isnt half bad. The food is pretty decent, but service and the wait isnt worth it. We waited for 45 minutes for a table of 5 around 8PM on a Friday. Parking - It shares the same plaza with Whole Food so you are able to self-park in the garage (quite spacious as well), but they also valet service if you want to feel fancy. Service - Quite slow due to how packed it was, but you can pester the other waiters/waitresses. The ambiance is nice, but it is really loud in the actually restaurant. We were lucky enough to be seated outside. On to the food: - Zucca Chips: Zucchini thinly sliced and deep fried and its not crunchy nor is it completely soggy. Overly salted. - Crisp Calamari: Fried calamari salad. The lemon vinaigerette was pretty good paired with the arugula and the calamari, but it is not your typical appetizer where theres a pile of calamari packed onto each other. Its just about a handful of pieces of calamari tossed with arugula and lemon vinaigrette. - Truffle Garlic Bread: Decent, but probably would not order it again because sour dough bread. Im never a fan of sour dough. - Spicy Shrimp: Pretty good. If you were just to order anything, I would just order this. Mediocre pasta dish. Pasta wasnt overdone or underdone. Amount of shrimp was plentiful and the dish was filling. All in all, decent place to eat. Pretty area to walk around after youre finished. Its good for date nights and hanging out with your friends, but keep in mind you might have to scream at one another due to the noise level. Also, make reservations and prep yourself for a wait.

Dined here for lunch this week with lady friends. First off, it is always a huge bonus when a restaurant takes lunch reservations. With most of us having only an hour for lunch, we dont have time to wait around for a table. However, I also learned, this is not the place to go if you only have an hour for lunch. While our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, he probably added on an extra 15 minutes to our lunch with just his talking, not even counting time to take orders. The food did not take very lunch to come out once we ordered, however it was getting our server to actually take our order that was difficult. Fortunately, the food and atmosphere were great. The restaurant is quite large with a pleasant, light, bright, refreshing design. The menu is not too large, but many dishes that all sounded delicious. Several are classic Italian dishes, like spaghetti and meatballs, tortellini and bolognese. We started with the Italian bread with house made Ricotta, truffle and olive oil, it was scrumptious and I typically dont like truffle oil but it was not overwhelming. A large serving though, better for a table of 4 or 5. I had the Italian farm salad with Salmon added. The salmon was cooked to my liking and the salad was just the light and flavorful option I needed. My dining companions both had pasta, a Spinach tortellini and the Bolognese. Both highly enjoyed their meals also. Overall, a must-try if you are in the Galleria and in the mood for classic Italian dining in a casual yet modern atmosphere.

Final Four Weekend - Date Night On an extra busy night out, while most of the town was in a mad rush getting ready for the the game and trying to eat, North Italia was no exception. I raved to my date about how good the food is and how great the people are who are work there and we had high expectations as it was my 2nd time there. We arrived about 15 minutes before our 9:15 reservation and it was apparent that a lot of people had been waiting for a long period of time. It was in fact a really busy Friday night. However he hostesses were very very pleasant whenever we inquired about the status of table. Despite the long wait, we were sat and quaint table with a great window view and our waitress Christine was very jovial and upbeat amidst the pandemonium of a Friday night in Houston. The entire wait staff and management were very appreciative and accommodating. I definitely recommend this establishment and will returning in future! Fat, full and happy... -Byron Basker

Italian food is my favorite kind so I am always skeptical of new joints but I have to say North rose to the occasion. We came here for lunch and I fell in love. I love love love the decor. I wish my living room looked like this. The special lanterns and red chairs are perfect. I was sad to discover that this was one of their many locations around the country and not a local restaurant but its still worth a try. I had the best salad and try one of their flatbreads. I noticed our brights ordered the burgers and pretzel bites... Its definitely next on my life. We were also delighted to hear about their happy hour specials. Its definitely a nicer place than most but has enough of a casual feel. I would skip the search for parking and pay the valet but either way you have options. Service was great, the food was great, and to top it all the place offers plenty of great photo ops! ;) enjoy!

I was deceived by all good reviews here or perhaps I had different experience than most people had. This place is nothing special. In short, if you like crowded place that you have to shout to someone two feets away to be heard, waiting a long time for server to take orders, bring foods and dont follow up on orders and have a super salty and greasy mediocre food yet pay the price of a premium stakehouse for your food then its your place. Certainly not my type of place. Me and my wife wanted to have a good dinner and We both like Italian food. They may make you think you are having authentic Italian food but the food is mediocre at best. Neither quality of food nor the service is as good as you expect. We had pasta and ribs and both foods were excessively salty and greasy. Took server half an hour to take order and half an hour to bring us dessert menu

Came for Sunday brunch, left full and very satisfied. This place is reasonably priced, and the quality of food is fantastic. Hostess was very pleasant but their waitstaff was a bit overwhelmed with the noon rush and slow to get drink/food orders. My table of 6 had an assortment of dishes, with everyone loving what they chose. I had the short rib hash, and it was superb.. the beef was melt in your mouth and the eggs were perfect. Fiance had the mussels that had a heaping portion with a lovely white wine sauce. Drinks were great as well, with lattes, drip coffee, bellinis and my jumpstart (double espresso shaken with chocolate milk) being just what we needed to start our day. Id highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fresh take on Italian and a lovely brunch spot.

A gem of a restaurant. The ambience is always buzzing and there is really something very special about this place. Best pizzas that I have had ever - and thats including those I had while in Italy. Happy hour serves up an eclectic mix of drinks and food at a hard to beat price for the quality. Dont forget to try their tiramisu - its a modern and very excellent rendition of a traditional classic. The patio area is my favorite, but the inside is very beautifully laid out and again it must be stressed that the ambiance is perfect if you like a buzz and some energy. I would definitely recommend the sea bream, short rib pasta, grilled calamari ( ask the chef) , and pizza. They are consistently great. Havent had a bad meal yet.
