Just average Americanized versions of what they say is Vietnamese and Thai fare. Now they have included Chinese plates, the kind you will find anywhere. I would expect it too is just as blah. I went several times for the pho. The broth has decreased in taste on each visit. The other MAJOR gripe is they dress the pho with cilantro and not with Thai basil or any kind of basil. I have grown my own and taken it there, but now it is not worth the trip because of the broths loss of the essential flavors masked with too much spices. Mr. Nguyen the owner cares less about people that know they are getting second class food. He must be hard to work for as I have never seen a waitstaff person that was there on earlier visits. Conclusion: Drive to McAllen when you want the good stuff that is actually prepared by an Asian that does their home cuisine. Just because an Asian owns a restaurant doesnt mean they cook it as is the case in 98% of the RGVs Asian restaurants.

I have a lot of experience with Asian cuisine and if youre looking for something edible dont go to this place. We ordered our sodas and I could tell right off that they were using unfiltered nasty Texas water. I ordered an appetizer of tempura which is suppose to be long prawns lightly battered and fried with vegetables. They gave use the breaded shrimp that you can buy in a box at Walmart. Then the waitress tried to say that it was Vietnamese tempura.. no sweetheart just no. The Pho tasted just wrong. The red onions completely threw me off and the stock tasted awful. The serving size was way too small for an order of Pho especially for what I was paying and it seemed like they forgot to put the noodles in my soup. Complete disaster. Waiteresses and staff couldnt speak English. Im going back to Nebraska to get my food prepared by Vietnamese people that know what they are doing. Why own a Vietnamese restaurant if you dont know how to prepare the food?

This place is normally really good. The last time we went it, they charged me for extra noodles without actually serving me extra noodles. They also didnt give my guest his sandwich until after we were already almost done eating. I know they dont care about the reviews here, because they didnt care when we told them about the experience while paying. No acknowledgement or apologies, which is all we really wanted. The otherwise nice older man at the front said, "oh it was the kitchen." Duh it was the kitchen, but why not at least pretend to care and pretend like youre going to do something about it. We did go in for dinner and maybe that was the difference. We will stick to early afternoons from here on out. Thats the best time to go.

Today was the second time for us at this restaurant. I always try to give the benefit of a second chance but this visit was worse than the first. Pho Tai broth was far too salty and no basil was provided which is an essential ingredient. Also very small amount of noodles and beef. Vermicelli dish was bland and very dry fish sauce provided very little respite to this. Pork slices were o.k. As an aside, one of the workers was eating a sandwich from Subway as he was seated directly beside us. Maybe he knows something we dont??? This is the only game in town for pho as far as I know but that is not enough for us to come back.

Good standard Vietnamese/Thai. Sadly, the Pho was a bit under-par. Basil being one of the main ingredients to flavor pho broth, is missing from the pho. Unfortunately this establishment doesnt provide the basil. With out it, the broth tastes much like hot water in noodles. But dont fret. They do serve good Pad Thai other Vietnamese dishes. Great service has to be mentioned and the management is very polite and welcoming. Despite the hiccup with the pho it overall is a good local dive with polite service which helps it retain a 3 stars review

Horrible service and attitude from the boss! The check only has the final total on it, no list of what you ordered. I asked to have the list of items because I suspected the bill was wrong. He gave me a nasty look and scribbled some numbers on a torn sheet of paper. I told him the numbers didnt add up, he adjusted the final bill but he appeared very annoyed, he didnt even apologize for the mistake!!! Never going back to this place again!

Pathetic! They miss a order for a carry out I realise that once I come back and call them to refund the money on the order that they didnt give me . The owner tells me I dont refund money and if u want it come here and get it. And then he hangs up the call. I go there and he says I am busy dont u know kw that. His arrogance was skyrocketing . Pathetic service and experience. Have never seen such arrogance anytime

Ive been coming here since they first opened. I love Vietnamese food and was really excited to see a new restaurant in the area. I love their bún (noodle dish) and banh mi (sandwich) the best! Ive gotten a lot of friends and family hooked on this place. They have a nice selection of plates with some classic Chinese and Thai dishes thrown in. The service has always been good and the restaurant very clean.

Good pho pretty legit, i got #15. $10 Im from southern Cali, we know pho. Its on every corner. Its not cheap for me cause Im used to $5 pho. One banh mi is $7. Im used to getting 3 for $5. I didnt order it here. I know the price is where it needs to be to be functional. Ill still come back and try other things.

Ordered the bon bo hue its fair but its missing key ingredients like the pork shank and mint leaves for the broth flavor. Its missing the real flavor of the fish sauce that they dont offer, Or shrimp paste needs the small details that make it all worth the Vietnamese experience.

As a Vietnamese-American I recommend the Bun Bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup), I personally give it a 9.5/10. There are several Vietnamese restaurants in the McAllen-Mission area that I find very unpalatable, and I would travel all the way to Harlingen for the food here.

As someone who has been traveling almost 300 miles to get Vietnamese food, this is a wonderful find! I had a noodle bowl and a bánh mì sandwich and both were quite good. I will be going again today because traveling 30 miles is a bargain for good food!

If your a pad Thai connessiour youll be disappointed. The food is average and probably OK because there arent any other Thai restaurants around. Prices are high. The Thai ice tea was the best thing on the menu. The food was so so.
