This is one of the best Thai restaurants in the country. The best Thai is in Oklahoma? Really? Yeah, I kid you not. I look for good Thai restaurants in every city I go to and I have never found anything better than the Evil Jungle Curry at Sweet Basil in Norman. Authentic ingredients (and cooks) fresh off the boat from Thailand. Romantic atmosphere: one of the nicest atmospheres of the restaurants here in Norman for sure. I love that Evil Jungle Curry, but get the Chicken Satay as an appetizer or a lite meal. The classic Pad Thai is better than at any other greasy Thai place (also good with the glass noodles if you want some variety.) The stir fry is great if you just want some meat and veggies (the basil stir fry is my favorite.) And my dad, who doesnt like Thai food, always enjoys the Thai Barbecue.

Granted Ive only eaten there once and I got it delivered so I can only speak for the quality of the food. Was pretty unimpressed unfortunately since I read so many good reviews. I ordered the pineapple curry with chicken. Portions were pretty small for paying such a high price ($13!). I got maybe five pieces of chicken, had to double check it was even included. Got a very small portion of rice which was barely enough for the very soupy curry. Cherry tomatoes were a nice touch though and I have to admit the curry was decently flavored. I just didnt feel the quality matched the price. I might give this place another chance but I would recommend going to Thai Delight instead. Cheaper and larger portions.

This is one of our three favorite Thai restaurants in or near Norman. The fresh rolls are very well done--very fresh, and usually have enough basil to be nicely aromatic and flavorful. I love the peanut satay sauce with them! Some of the specialties are great, but we recently tried the roast pork dinner and were quite disappointed. Id say 2.5 for the food overall if I could. The Tom Kah is great, and the evil jungle chicken is very well done, but my favorites are the red and green curries here. Also, the noodle dishes are not terribly greasy, which I really appreciate. The service is excellent--this is a perfect place for a romantic evening!

The food was overpriced. Our waiter was polite at best, but not friendly. He was not helpful with the menu, not able to explain what things meant. When we were ready to leave we waited 10 minutes for our bill when we finally decided to walk out and then were met at the door with our bill magically. They claimed "paper problems" when I think they just forgot. I asked him to pack up my noodles and beef and broccoli but only got my noodles. It was extremely over priced. Ill never visit there again.

Delicious pad Thai and Red Curry. Courteous staff attention and quick seating even during lunchtime. The prices are higher than Pei Wei, which is a bit anticlimactic because the quality is on the same level (which is only meant as a compliment to both bc I ❤️ Pei Wei) I will add to this as a tangent that their pricing scheme is really simple and interesting: same price for everything on the menu item-wise but only varying by protein choice.

If you want an amazing meal, please check this place out! Sweet Basil provides great presentation with beautiful dinnerware, fine art, and dim lighting. Meals have very generous helpings. The food is very fresh and there are no weak points to the menu. Whether youre after a great dinner date, or a reasonably priced lunch menu (which includes your choice of spring rolls or soup) Sweet Basil is the spot. Enjoy!!!

Service was sub-par. The waiter got the food orders wrong. He delivered to the wrong people. My food was cold. My son who is 5 got spicy chicken which was unpleasant. He then didnt check back with us to see if there was any problems. He added an 18% gratuity to our bill and when I didnt give him the full 18% he came over and complained. I will not be going back due to the service.

This place is serious business for Thai food lovers. The food is filled with robust flavor, nothing is greasy, the vegetables tasted exceptionally fresh. Great service, was more than happy to tip very well. Ambience is quiet, great for a date or anyone who wants to be able to hear easily for good conversation. I will definitely eat here again!

The fresh vegitable spring rolls are awesome! Well worth the drive from the city and the best appetizer. The panang curry, ginger basil chicken are the best weve eaten and we live by the Asian District. I only wish they had a closer location. The most amazing live saltwater fish tank.

Sweet Basils is probably the best Thai food I have ever tried. Their prices are OK and the food is amazing. I had to wait for half an hour before getting a table, but I would wait more if I needed to in order to have their curry once again.

Everything Ive had here is outstanding. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food, not sure what that one reviewer was talking about... my favorite things here are the Panang curry and Thai iced coffee.

Came here on a friends recommendation and it was even better than I expected. The atmosphere is nice, I was on a casual date and it was perfect. Food was wonderful, and they had a wide selection of teas.

Sweet Basil is my favorite thai place not only in Norman, but of all of the other places Ive been to, including Wazuzu at the Encore in Las Vegas. It is a little pricey, but well worth it.
