My wife, toddler and I went there yesterday evening about 630. Ill preface this review saying Im from Southeast Texas on the TX/LA border so my taste buds may not be of someone from Austin. With that being said the food was great. Very flavorful and generous portions. We started off with the "Spiced" fried oysters. Honestly I could had a plate of these and a side and would have been just fine. The only thing misleading is the title. They are not spicy...Not a all...Not even kind of. However they were seasoned perfectly. Also some of the larger oysters Ive had recently. I guess fried oysters doesnt have the same ring to it as "Spiced". Next I had 3 piece catfish dinner and a cup of gumbo. They had a few other things on the menu that looked tasty but it was my first time there so I played it safe. The catfish was great. Very light breading and well seasoned served with natural cut fries. As for the gumbo the roux was almost blonde and heavy on the flour. Also it hadnt had the flour texture/taste cook all the way out. However if you would told me that was shrimp etouffee I would have gave it a B+(assuming you cook the roux correctly). As gumbo it was a C-. Any gumbo connoisseur will tell you the roux can make or break it. In this case it broke it. My wife had the pasta Marisco. She subbed more scallops in lieu of mussels to which they happily obliged. She loved it(as did our toddler). Now for the bad stuff. Service was extremely slow. Im usually a very forgiving customer as long as you continue to follow up and communicate. There was very little of that. I could possibly understand if the restaurant was extremely busy or backlogged but it was still open tables and no line. It wont deter me from giving them another shot but that has to be addressed. The family sitting adjacent to us noticed slowness as well. All in all I give a B ++ for the food and a C - for the service.

They were able to accommodate our large group on short notice, and the staff were very attentive. I tried the grilled mini mahi mahi tacos and was very pleased. Unfortunately just about everything on it has cilantro mixed in somehow, but they were able to prepare some rice without it and put the cole slaw on the side, so I was able to taste it without having to worry about the soapy flavor. It was pretty tasty as is. I did feel it was a bit pricey for mini tacos, but it was a company lunch so I didnt have to worry about it. The baked chocolate custard dessert was really good. I wish I could remember the name, but it was a special and its not featured on the regular menu. I would go back just for that if they had it on the menu full time.

2 stars for a very clean and inviting atmosphere and decor. Nice outdoor playscape for the kids. No stars for the wait service. Waitress had no clue about the oysters offered, let alone the name of the "guy" who was the manager! We were literally told, "that guy over there can help you with the oysters", only after I demanded a manager to tell us the offerings. The oysters were actually very good and the remainder of the food was just ok to us. I wish I could say Id return, even after we were given free appetizer coupons and a sad apology from the replacement waiter. But, we will not return. I hope this is just growing pains. But, reading other reviews about the awful wait service in the past, it makes me think otherwise. :(

Ill start off by saying the main reason for giving this place 3 stars is because of the server. I hate that I cant remember his name but he was very nice and accommodating. He alone deserves 4. Now to the food.... the spicy oyster app was very good. It had the perfect amount of crunch and the bacon jalapeño aioli was yummy. I ordered the blackened redfish entree and it was lukewarm and lacked flavor. Im a southern girl so I need major flavor. Fortunately I was able to send it back in exchange for the fried catfish which ended up being more like "sway" fish. I would however try this place again. I mean I did show up 45 mins before close.

Food quality is high at Redfin. The crab cake appetizer and blackened redfish entrée were both very good. Service was also good, though the kitchen took a while to get the entrée out. Of course this is not an issue if you are not in a hurry. The only issue I had was with overall value. I only received one crab cake for the appetizer and two small fillets for the entrée. Normally I do not order dessert because Im full from the meal but I ordered the crème brulee (which was also great) because I was still hungry. $40 for a small appetizer, small entrée, and dessert with no drinks seems high.

We had the pleasure of trying their food truck in Georgetown at a festival and the food was amazing!! We loved it so much we decided to try the brick and mortar restaurant. We drove over half an hour to get there, once we went inside we were sat down quickly. However, from that point on we sat, and sat, and sat, and sat. Three servers were chatting up at the bar and not once did anyone acknowledge or even ask us for our drink order. We finally just said enough and walked out really disappointed. We had such high hopes considering the truck was so good! Bummer.

Poboys are pretty simple. Toasted baguette, fried seafood, lettuce, tomato, remoulade sauce. The only thing this place got right was the fried seafood part. No tomatoes, cole slaw instead of lettuce, mayo instead of remoulade and some over-soft roll. Hubbys seafood dish was overcooked. And the "crab hush puppies" didnt seem to contain a single bit of crab. They also had far more staff standing around than they had customers. I dont think this place is long for this world....that all being said the oysters were tasty and the wine was cheap, so...two stars.

Oyster appetizer undercooked, fries superrrr greasy, in exchange we were offered some fruits for our son and recook my husbands fries, service just lacked big time, no crayons for my son, plates werent picked up by our server...There are only 2 good things I can say about this place and thats the atmosphere (playground, outdoor seating, ...) and the owner/manager ( he was actually the one that finally picked up our empty plates and offered to recook my husbands fries). So I will not return and wont recommend this restaurant!

Absolutely amazing food! Loved the dining experience! Started with crab hush puppies with wonderful sauce, then we ordered grilled shrimp & grits, Pasta Marisco, grilled chicken Caesar wrap, & Pepita Crusted Mahi-Mahi that was delicious!!!! Great for families...playground for kids & dining both inside & outside! Wonderful staff & loved their recommendations for our dinner entrees!!! Thanks for a great ending to our vacation! We cant wait to come back!!!!

Went here for dinner with my mom a while ago, and never went back. I wasnt too impressed with the service or the food. Its in a new shopping strip mall, and there is plenty of parking in front. The salad was very bland and boring as well as pricey. Everything actually was very expensive. The wait staff didnt know their own menu items. The only upside it is a clean restaurant, for now. I wouldnt recommend or return unfortunately.
