One of my co-workers raved about Italy Pasta & Pizza for the tasty food and large portions, so another co-worker and I took the trip for lunch. On our first visit, I ordered the baked ziti based on the waiters recommendation and had a salad with house dressing (tomato vinaigrette). The first to arrive to the table was the salad and then the bread. The salad was fresh iceberg lettuce with one sole cherry tomato on the side. The tomato vinaigrette was unlike any dressing Ive had before. It was very flavorful; I just never got used to it and every bite was like whoa this is weird and good. The bread was served warm and was light and spongy- a perfect texture to dip into olive oil with Parmesan cheese, pepper, and balsamic vinegar. Then came the baked ziti, which was served piping hot. I was not expecting all that cheese and ricotta! I told the waiter that I was a big fan of sauce and I was disappointed with the small amount of tomato sauce. However, the waiter brought me a side of sauce and I poured it all in. It made the baked ziti PERFECT! I was a happy camper. My co-worker ordered eggplant Parmesan without spaghetti from the dinner menu and loved it. It didnt come with a free salad though since it was from the dinner menu. By the end of the meal we were so full and had leftovers but wanted to try the tiramisu, so we got it to go. We ate it at the office later and it was a sad tiramisu. It was bland, not much texture, and barely had a coffee flavor. No better than from a grocery store. Overall, this trip made us happy and wanting to return for more good Italian food. But then... today we returned and everything was off. We were placed in a small booth with no waiter assigned. The owner got our waters and took our order. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and my co-worker ordered eggplant Parmesan with spaghetti this time. The salad, the bread and the food came in quick succession. They didnt time it right and it was suspicious how quickly the food came, like it had been sitting there. There was a new cheesy topping on the bread that I didnt like. The cheese tasted weird and the bread was less flavorful. It was also barely warm unlike last time. The spaghetti was a joke. It did not have enough sauce by anyones standard and it came with one meatball! The menu said spaghetti and meatballs not meatball. The whole dish was flavorless and watery. A freezer spaghetti was tastier. No one came to ask us how the food was or fill up our waters. The hostess was kind enough to clean out some dirty plates from our small table. We started to wonder if we had to get our own check. Finally, we asked a busboy for the check. Overall, Italy Pasta & Pizza is inconsistent in its service and flavor. Im not sure that Ill come back.

I wanted some good authentic Italian food, so I looked up Italian near me & this place popped up. It has great reviews, so i thought I would give it a try. I ordered the calamari to start with. Now let me tell you this was perfect, just good ol fried calamari & hot marinara sauce. Knocked it out the park. So I ask the waiter if they happen to serve gnocchi & he tells me they do but its just not on the menu. So i ask him if the Chef pan sears it first & he assures me that he does. So I tell him to go ahead & make it with a half & half sauce. When it comes out it was so thick that it stuck to the spoon in a clumpy mess. I dug one of the gnocchi out to look at it because it was soft & mushy. When i looked @ it I could tell right away this was not a fresh gnocchi but a pre-made outsourced one. I was very disappointed. So I asked the waiter to send it back & decided to go with the linguine & clams. Surly they couldnt mess this up, I mean its on the menu & all. But boy was i wrong, the best part of it was pasta, which by the way swimming in a pool of watery sauce. The clams wernt even fresh, they were canned. I dont know if this is the standard for this area but in my opinion it was almost like a really nice looking Italian Jack in the Box without a drive thru. I will not be going back here for qualit Italian food.

The awesomeness of the food is second only to the service that we get every time we visit. The only exception I have found is the mussels (not a fan) but everything else I have had was fantastic (especially the Italian Wedding Soup). The staff seems very knowledgable on the menu so just do what I do and ask for a suggestion of you dont know what to order. Dont forget to grab a cannoli before you leave! One more thing: The atmosphere is very inviting. Family friendly and usually fairly quiet (more favorable to me than a crowded "chain" Italian place).

I first came here about 5 years ago when I was living in Arlington and the restaurant was located in the strip center next to Albertsons. It had me at Nicola. Chicken Nicola. It was amazing. Now its kind of funny that I bought my house less then a half a mile from here. I come at least once a month. And experience something new each time. Not wanting to just stick to that "one dish" we always get as people when we go somewhere... If you are looking for amazing food, solid service, and that new place that will become youre go to place. This is it!

Lost my business today. 3 times I have ordered the meatball sub. The first 2 times it was excellent.Subs were loaded with delicious meatballs and cheese. Today it was not a 6" sub and there was ONE MEATBALL CUT IN HALF. I asked the waiter if there was a change in cooks (explaining the issue). he says no and walked off. My husband asked a second waiter and he asked if we wanted to speak to the manager. No offer of bringing at least 1 extra meatball, no offer of credit. Basically, they didnt really seem to care. Last visit for me

The service was brusque and impersonal, bordering on rude. The food was mediocre at best. The shrimp Sinatra was the highlight for the entire table with a very tasty sauce, but only five shrimp that were so tough and flavorless they I suspect they were microwaved. The veal parmagiana was mushy and flavorless and the accompanying sauce was unimpressive. Overall very much a let down, and I doubt very much well come back

This place rates high for a reason - good food in relaxing atmosphere and reasonable prices. This is Fort Worth, TX - if you want superb gnocchi, please do us all a favor and move to Italy. For the rest of us that enjoy eating great local Italian food and dont want to break the bank, this restaurant is great. Ive eaten here enough to say this place is definitely good enough for my family.
